About: I've watched dogs and cats with all different personalities and needs (i.e. blind, diabetic, anxious, etc.). I believe in understanding a pet's needs from the perspective of the pet and responding with compassion. I work full time, but can usually work from home if needed. I will talk with you before we commit to pet sitting to ensure my schedule works for your needs (if that's getting off early, working from home every day during the time of the sitting, going home over lunch for a walk, etc). I have no fur babies (or kids) of my own, so your babies will get my undivided attention and I will shower them with all the love I wish I could give to my own fur baby if I had one. (Know I recognize that love looks different for different critters - for some it may mean keeping a respectful distance!)
“1st time using Rover App & 1st time getting a new face for our sweet ol pup 🐶 Rover is streamlined, user-friendly, and fast responses from potential sitters! Nancye did a Superb job taking care of our sweet boy! So appreciative of her loving care while we were out of town! Thank you Nancye!! 💜”

“Linda and David were great to Winston. Took Winston for walk on trail and also to the dog park. I am very comfortable leaving Winston with them in the future. Great couple.”

“Sydney was wonderful with both my mini schnauzers. She took care of their every need and gave them lots of love. We have rebooked with her for several more dates and will continue to book with her for boarding in her home.”

“Wonderful establishment with beautiful scenery, tucked back high on a mountain. They're experienced and the kennels are in great shape!. The owners are very forthcoming with information before taking your animals to board there. It was worth the 40 minute drive. They helped me out when I needed help with two rescue dogs that I knew nothing about yet. Please consider them for your next board!.”

“Elizabeth was wonderful. Elizabeth gave daily updates with text, pictures and video. Bailey had a wonderful time and loved being around the other dogs on property. Most of all Bailey was able to run free and basically be in the same environment that she has at home. Highly recommend.”

“Holly took such excellent care of our Boo! She’s a true dog whisperer and loves each dog like her own. We were anxious about leaving our puppy for the first time overnight, but Holly loved on her and spoiled her and made us feel at ease while we were away. We would definitely trust Boo’s care to Holly any time and recommend her highly! We were so lucky to have found such a loving and caring sitter. Thank you, Holly!”

“Angus had a great visit with Kurt! He was easy to communicate with a provided pictures while we were away. Looks like they had a lot of fun!! Will definitely use him again.”

About: I take care of pets for family when they need it and have experience caring for older pets, puppies, and those with special care instructions. My schedule is pretty flexible so I can take time to walk dogs during the day. I’m most available during the weekend and after 5 pm for over night boarding, but can potentially accommodate other schedules. I have no pets, so my home is perfect for less friendly pets. Crates will need to provided if they are needed for your pet, but I’m willing to keep up with their routine.
“Courtney & Kameron took great care of Barkley while I was away. He went on lots of walks and enjoyed all the extra attention. Courtney sent lots of pic throughout the weekend. Will definitely use them again!!!”

“Walt kept our boy, Teddi, for four days. Teddi is a 3 yo intact English Shepherd who has never spent a night away from us. Teddi is a very well behaved and friendly boy but we were a bit anxious how this would go. Walt kept us well informed on how Teddi was doing. Walt gave Teddi great care and a lot of attention. When we returned to pick up Teddi, it was obvious that he and Teddy had bonded very well. We are very pleased with the care that Walt provided and will certainly use him again.”

“Spectre had such a blast! Samantha took such great care of him, and sent so many photos of his fun times! I love how Samantha pays attention to detail. She wanted to make sure that she knew my little guy: from his needs and his routine down to the way he likes to play and treats . I never worried a minute while I was out of town because she had everything under control. I would HIGHLY recommend her pet sitting services to ALL my friends!”

“I am once again very grateful for Shannon’s excellent care for my dog Roger. He feels at home. He gets excited when we take him to her house. I definitely recommend her as a dog sitter.”

About: I am an avid animal lover. So when friends, family, and friends of friends have looked for pet sitters they come to me! I have experience with dogs as little as Chihuahuas to as big as Rottweilers and we all know who is more feisty ;) I work during the week but am available for walks after 5pm. I am available for boarding all day on the weekends or during the week if your pets are low-needs during the day! I have a private 3+ acre yard with a kenneled in area if needed. I have crates for my dogs and more than happy to crate yours if needed. I am willing to accommodate most needs/request as long as you are willing to communicate!
“Veronica is great! She truly enjoyed caring for our dog Niko and sent us photos/videos everyday. It was clear he received lots of love and playtime inside and outside of the house. Would love to have him stay again. Thanks so much!!”

“Emily is a true treasure! Would highly recommend her pet sitting services to all my friends and family, and anyone!!! Emily took care of my Mom's Shi Tzu, YaYa, for almost two weeks. Emily asked our preference for updates, and consistently sent us updates and pictures of YaYa. YaYa came home happy and healthy, and obviously enjoyed her stay at Emily's. Wouldn't hesitate to give Emily the highest ratings and recommendations. Thank you, Emily, for taking such good care of our precious pup!!!!”

“I would definitely recommend Claire for petsitting. She friendly and accommodating, and our dog seemed very well cared for. Our only problem was finding the house because the address sent to us through Rover was not correct, but hopefully that has been fixed.”

Sometimes when we board our puppies, they come home a little skittish, but they came home so happy and we could tell they were so well loved! Deann sent daily updates and and communication was so clear and easy from booking to pick up. I highly recommend Deann to love you on your fur babies! We will for sure book again!

Pippy had a wonderful stay! Erin immediately greeted Pippy and made him feel welcomed. She sent me an update to let me know he had made himself at home and was cuddled on the couch, which immediately put my mind at ease. I could tell when I picked him up he was happy & had been very well cared for. ☺️ I definetely recommend Erin if you are looking for a caring, trustworthy sitter who will love your baby like her own. ❤️

Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
