“Lauren was a lifesaver! Helped me out last minute and is always great with my pup. Punctual, friendly, reliable, and most importantly very loving to Finn. Thank you!! Will book again :)”

“Allison provided great updates after each stop to check on our dog while we went to Arizona for a week. He really seems to trust her and looked so happy in each picture she sent. We definitely recommend her for your pet sitting needs!!”

“Amalie did a fantastic job with my cat and it was apparent that she cared for him! She was able to give him medicine twice a day. Thank you for taking such great care of him!!”

“Natasha did a great job taking care of our chihuahuas over Christmas. The pictures she took really showed how much the dogs like her. They seemed really comfortable.”
“Corinne was fantastic! She went above and beyond to care for my cat Winky and made sure I knew she was happy and comfortable while we were gone. She helped us last minute, and was even able to come twice a day. She made an extra visit when I was worried Winky was stuck under our guest room bed. I would definitely ask Corinne to help again in the future.”

“Olivia was so sweet with my cat and even taught her a new trick while I was away for the weekend! She timed her visits perfectly and clearly took time to just hang out with Minnie. I loved seeing all the pictures from her visits and would definitely book again! Thanks Olivia!”

“Caitlin was an awesome pet sitter for our recent 2-week vacation! She sent before and after photos for each visit that gave me an idea of how my cat ate while we were away. Caitlin took the time to give our cat some lap time and petting, which helped ease her loneliness while we were gone. I will use Caitlin again on our next trip!”

“Sarah was absolutely phenomenal! She went above and beyond, exceeded expectations! This was the first time we left our adored cat for two weeks & we were quite concerned about leaving her alone. Now we can safely say that we will feel comfortable and happy to know that Sarah will take care of her again in the future! Not only do we love her, but our “Ella” girl does too! 😻”

“Heather was amazing, yet again! She takes such great care of Noodle. I had a few of packages delivered that I wasn’t aware of and heather took them in for me and I am so appreciative.”

“Claire did such an amazing job taking care of Blue. She was great to work with, followed my requests to a T, and sent frequent updates! I would totally recommend her to anyone needing a pet sitter.”

About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. In your home, I can assure you that my experience will allow me to provide the best care for your loved ones.

“Hannah has been great with our pup! Our pup is a rescue very shy and timid, and Hannah has done an amazing job building trust with her. Hannah has such a calm and patient personality. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for animals my whole life and share my home with three cats, so multi-pet households and juggling different feeding routines are second nature to me. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies and kittens to anxious or reactive pets who need a calm, patient presence and a little extra trust-building. I’m also starting to volunteer at my local animal nonprofit and foster cats with a friend, so caring for animals is a real part of my life. Whether it’s house sitting, drop-in visits, or dog walks, I follow your pet’s routine closely and send photo updates so you can relax while you’re away. I work a standard 9–5 on weekdays, so I’m available for morning, evening, and overnight visits during the week, plus weekends. There could be exceptions that come up, but I’ll always confirm timing in advance and stick closely to your pet’s usual feeding and walk schedule. Since I care for pets in your home, I treat your space with respect and follow your instructions to the letter. I keep doors and gates secured, always leash dogs before heading out, and stay alert to each pet’s comfort and body language. I lock up when I leave and send photo updates so you know everyone’s safe and happy.
“Kayla took excellent care of our 2 dogs and cat! She sent daily visit updates and photos of the animals daily. We loved seeing how happy they were each day! We will be using Kayla again and would highly recommend her for your pet care needs.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Christiansburg. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
