About: Growing up with large breeds (Bernese Mountain Dog & German Shepard), I’ve always been a lover of all pets, especially dogs. Since relocating to Blacksburg area for work 8 years ago, I’ve pet sat for a variety of animals in the region, ranging from puppies to senior dogs with specific medical needs. It would be an honor to meet and care for your pets! I work full time at VT with some remote days per week, so it can be a flexible schedule. I am happy to adjust schedules or remote days to meet your pets needs! I don’t have any pets in my current home, so I’m flexible to either board at my townhouse or stay at the pets home! I offer both options to all families and willing to drive up to an hour distance.

About: I had a a mixed breed dog she lived until she was about 11 years old. She had a heart murmur and a really bad knee so I know how to help support a dog that might have health problems or mobility issues. I have taken care of another larger dog of border collie blue heeler mix that has battled dislocating hips, throwing out her back and cancer. She is 11 now I have worked with a senior Great Pyrenees and I know these aren’t dogs, but I have taken care of multiple rescue animals from anything from fish all the way up to a cat and I have nursed every single one of them back to health so I do have experience giving animals medicines My schedule is a little bit all over the place. I never really know exactly what days I am off or not but as of right now, I should be available between 11 a.m. to about 2 PM but depending on the day I can work later I will make sure that your pet will not get into anything. It’s not supposed to make sure your pet does not escape your house. I will follow your instructions of how you want me to take care to your pet if your pet is to be let outside in a gate I will make sure that the gate is locked and secured if your dog needs to be chained outside. I will make sure that the chain and whatever it is secure to is stable and the dog will not get loose. I will ensure your pet safety if I’m walking your dog or if it’s in your house, I will make sure that no other animal comes after your pet. If I am at your home, I’m not gonna let anybody into your home that you do not personally know and without your verbal consent that that person can enter your home.

About: I’ve absolutely loved taking care of dogs and cats ever since I was a young girl. I have years of experience caring for puppies, as well as senior dogs. I’m currently in nursing school, but on break for summer right now, so my free time is spent with your sweet pups!! I try to update my calendar every 2 weeks. About: We’re a husband-and-wife team with a lifelong love for animals! We’ve both grown up surrounded by dogs and cats, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of our lives. Over the years, we’ve also been the go-to pet sitters for family and friends, caring for their dogs and cats and treating them just like members of our own family. We currently have two pups of our own who are very loved (and maybe a little spoiled! 😂), so we completely understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. We both work full time jobs, but we are able to accommodate early, mid day, and evening/night visits within reason and our personal schedules. If we can make it work, we will definitely do anything to be there for your fur babies! We have plenty of experience with animals in fenced in yards and on leashes. We will ensure we watch them, keep them safe, and give them ample amount of outside and play time.

About: I have 6+ years of experience with multiple animal species, including dogs and cats of various sizes and attitudes. As a third year veterinary student, I am also capable of handling daily treatments as needed. I’m currently a full-time veterinary student, but year 3 has a schedule perfect to work with your pets. About: I’ve owned a black Labrador(Anna) for over 13 years, she has not once had any sort of health issue as I’ve feed her well, and kept her up to date on vet visits. I’m caring, compassionate, and smart and versatile enough to be calm in any situation that may arise. I assure you that I will treat your pet as if it were my own. This allows me the freedom to stay focused on your pet and be there when other folks have to leave. If a situation ever does arrive my strength are communication so you can rest assured I will be in constant contact, which as a pet owner for an older girl myself id expect from others if I left her in their care. If the pet requires adequate exercise I have no problem going on a long walk with them and the space is pet friendly as my dog (Anna) is there. About: I'm a third-year veterinary student at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and have worked with animals professionally for several years through both veterinary medicine and pet care. Before veterinary school, I worked as a veterinary assistant, where I helped care for hospitalized patients, assisted with treatments, and supported pets with a variety of medical needs. I've administered medications including oral medications, eye and ear medications, injectable and topical treatments, as well as assisted with treatments such as subcutaneous fluids and diabetic management. That experience has made me comfortable caring for pets who need extra attention, whether that's giving medications, monitoring changes in appetite or behavior, helping senior pets stay comfortable, or noticing when something seems different from their normal. Outside of the clinic, I've provided dog walking and in-home pet sitting for dogs and cats with many different personalities and needs. Some pets need plenty of exercise and activity, while others are happiest with a calm visit, their normal routine, and some extra attention. Whether your pet needs medication support, senior care, or simply someone dependable while you're away, I bring professional animal experience and veterinary training to every visit. My veterinary school schedule varies throughout the semester, but it is planned well in advance. I keep my Rover calendar updated so my availability is always accurate. In general, I am available for early morning visits before class, evening visits after class, and most weekends. I also have additional weekday availability depending on my class schedule. If you're planning ahead for a trip, vacation, or recurring visits, send me your dates and location and I'll let you know what I can accommodate. My veterinary training has taught me to pay attention to the small changes that can matter with pets, like when a normally social dog seems withdrawn or a cat's eating habits suddenly change. If something unexpected happens, I stay calm, gather information, communicate clearly, and help determine what needs to happen next. As a VMCVM student, I'm familiar with local veterinary resources and emergency care options in the area. For walks, I take safety seriously. I check collars, harnesses, and leashes before heading out, avoid off-leash situations outside of secure fenced areas, and adjust activity based on weather, temperature, and your pet's comfort level. During summers, that also means being mindful of hot pavement and heat exposure. When caring for your home, I treat it with the same care and respect I would expect from someone entering my own home. I follow your instructions, secure doors and gates after visits, bring in packages or mail if requested, and leave your home the way you expect it to be.

About: I am a lifelong animal lover. I grew up with a household full of animals, and was constantly bringing more home. In high school I spent two years in a veterinary science technical program where I learned husbandry, basic first aid, training, etc. I have experience working with animals of all life stages, and care requirements. I can administer medication, and even have worked with diabetic kitties (my cat Leo is a diabetic himself). I am a college student in my junior year studying finance and economics. During the week I have class in the morning. My afternoons are generally free, and so are my weekends. I treat all client's homes with respect. I am tidy, and mindful to leave the home exactly as I found it. I am able to water plants as well!

About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. Once I could handle him, I took him out, walked him, and helped give baths. As an adult, I have done multiple pet-sitting jobs for neighbors and family friends. I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages. My job experience includes retail, landscaping, and food/bar service. Working late nights in downtown Blacksburg, I have become keen at cleaning up messes of all kinds. This summer, my schedule is wide open! I play pool a couple of nights a week, but that doesn't last for more than a few hours and I can always go late/leave early to get back to the pets. When the school year starts, I will schedule pet sitting around my class schedule. I am equipped to handle dogs of almost any size on a leash, and I love to play fetch in a yard/at the park. I can keep food and water bowls clean and full, I can crate dogs if needed, and I can keep a litter box clean!
