“Katie took fantastic care of my Rottwieler and Kitty. My Rottwieler is older and on meds, she visited three times a day always on time. Really happy to know she is available to care for my furry family members when my wife and I are away.”
“Hope was super nice and did a great job at watching my cat over the course of two days! She always checked in on time and took several photos of my cat as well. I would 100% recommend her to anyone!”

“Erin is amazing! My Labradoodle is very sweet but has anxiety issues and it very weary around new people. Erin was so patient with him and allowed him to warm up to her. She took him for many walks and played with him. She sent lots of pictures and videos. She is super sweet and I felt so good having her care for our boy!”
About: I’ve been walking and training dogs since I was 12. I also have my own dog and I’m very involved in his care, exercise and training. I have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, senior cats, as well as administering oral medication to both animals. I’m very active and love running so if you have a really energetic pup you need tired out I’d love to take them on a run! I also have two guinea pigs and have experience caring for smaller animals as well! I’m home from college for the summer and I have availability most weekdays and weekends. I’m willing to work with your schedule and needs and understand that your pet comes before anything else. It’s important to me to keep everything neat when visiting others homes and make sure it looks better than I found it! I will play fetch or tug of war with dogs usually and play with cats using some sort of feather toy or other provided toys. I always make sure dishes like dog bowls etc are cleaned up and any cans or wrappers are disposed of properly.
About: I worked at a small animal hospital for a year and a half over school breaks, so I can administer medications, do CPR, and work with a variety of dogs and cats. I also took many animal courses in college as an Animal Science major which helps me know more about animal behavior, training, and well-being. I fostered cats and have taken care of my own cats and dogs growing up. I also volunteer at an animal shelter in my free time to socialize cats and walk their dogs. I can provide any special instructions/requests you might have. I am a graduate student and am done classes! I have flexible work hours in a research lab and can make sure to be there for your pet! I am very reliable, responsible and will make sure you and your pet’s needs are met! I can feed, play, and cuddle with them along with any other requests you may have. I will do any tasks or instructions you provide me with for how you like things done with your pet in your home. I can take them on walks, play in your yard, practice training tasks, feed them, and provide mental stimulation.
About: I have cared for pets of all ages over the years and adopted a pup of my own about two years ago. He’s up to date on all vaccinations and loves other dogs. I have experience with giving medications to animals, caring for both puppies and older pups, and my apartment is hardwood floors so accidents aren’t a problem! I am a graduate assistant and in grad school. This means that I word pretty weird hours and I do a lot of work remotely. I’m home anywhere between 8 hours to 24 hours a day and can rearrange my schedule depending on the needs of the animal. There is a dog park nearby and it’s a safe area. For my pup, and pups I’ve boarded/cared for before, I traditionally feed them in the AM and give them plenty of water. We go to the dog park to start the day and get the energy out. I make sure to leave dog-safe toys on the floor so they know they have stuff to play with and I dog proof the apartment before I leave each time so they don’t get into things they shouldn’t. We go out later in the day to the dog park again to socialize or get the zoomies going. We go back and have a little more food or a snack and then hang out before going out on a walk to end the day. I'm working full-time in ministry so I have lots of time throughout the day to care for your loved one and will be gone no more than a few hours per evening for bible studies and groups. I take my dog, Tonka, out 5-6 times per day minimum and we love to go on walks and be outdoors. I have a large field directly behind my apartment and live in a very pet-friendly area tucked off the main road so your pup will enjoy lots of safe and supervised outside time! I allow animals on the furniture and keep all choking hazards up high. My dog has a knack for finding even the smallest things to mess with so I have good practice with keeping a safe home.
About: I am a loving, kind, and patient individual who takes intentional time to get to know your pet. I have never met a fur baby I don’t love! I am available before 9 am and after 5 pm on weekdays and all day on Saturdays and Sundays with the exception of some work events. With love and mutual respect - for your fur baby and for your home. I will treat like my own pet and make sure that they are well taken care of and watched after.
“Sam was very sweet and reliable and took excellent care of my cats! She sent pictures with each visit and did everything I asked while I was gone, making my trip so much easier. Highly recommended.”
“Kirsten is an amazing pet sitter! This is our second or third time we’ve had Kirsten hangout with our pup! She sends lots of photos and updates throughout the day! You can tell she truly cares and loves your pets! We know Sonny was well taken care of and had an amazing time while we were away! Thanks Kirsten!”

“I really appreciate Natasha taking care of Icho while I was at work. As my first experience with Rover I was unsure at first if it was dependable, despite all the awesome reviews I’ve seen. Natasha even took pictures for me. She also was nice enough to show me the 20$ off promo for my first booking! I look forward to booking with Natasha again soon ☺️”
“Rachel is a wonderful cat sitter! My cats were very happy and well taken care of, and even Bella, who is very shy around new people, warmed up to her. Rachel was also very easy to talk to and sent daily updates.”

“Paige has been wonderful with our two unique dogs! One is high energy and wild and our other dog is an elderly sleepy guy and they both have been well taken care of and happy with their daily visits. She is communicative and trustworthy!”

About: I am a graduate student located in Blacksburg studying Counselor Education. This past summer I even got to take the Animal Assisted Counseling course and learn all about animal wellbeing in my profession! I have always had dogs and cat in my house growing up, and I have years of informal experience walking, feeding, and taking care of pets overnight. I am always a go to pet sitter for family and friends that are out of town because I always follow their directions as well as treat their home and pet with respect. I also have over a year of hands on volunteer experience at the People For Pets Foundation no kill cat cat shelter in Jeffersonton, VA. I am super flexible all summer! I am a server and work six hours shifts at the maximum. I am happy to serve you and your pets with temporary support or long-term weekly services! I can provide overnight support as well. A pet is like another member of the family, and I have always been taught to treat your family with respect and love them unconditionally. Being with animals is my absolute favorite thing in the world, and you can trust that your pet’s well being will always be my number one priority.
About: I am an Animal Sciences major and have trained 3+ service dog puppies (8wks-22mos) with an accredited organization, owned dogs my whole life, babysat neighbor's cats since I was 9, and worked with a large variety of animals of all sizes in general. Those that I have previously pet-sit for have asked me back countless times as they trust me to be responsible and loving to their pets. I have 3-4 classes every day with some availability between them, as well as ample availability almost every morning and evening, with very open availability on weekends! I treat all pets with respect and love. I require meeting before I take care of your pet so that I can get a full run through of exactly what you need me to do and can give your pet the best care. I will prioritize comfort with your pet by following their routine to the best of my ability. I am adept at identifying signs of stress or discomfort in any situation, and I never push boundaries or put the animal in situations that would make the animal uncomfortable. I always keep pet's spaces clean and have experience cleaning up a variety of messes when necessary.
“Taji was very professional, punctual and most importantly really good with Kizmit. He followed pet care instructions to the letter and actually sat and played/loved on her. I would definitely request him again.”

We were happy to have Kaylee care for our dog and look forward to having her return in the near future! She followed our instructions to the letter and took Kody on a nice long walk every day. She brings years of pet care experience to the job and had no trouble wrangling our 100-pound fur baby.

Olivia was absolutely amazing with both my pets and myself. I was very nervous to take such a long trip, but Olivia took pictures every visit, made notes about anything she thought I should know, and answered my questions quickly. I cannot recommend Olivia strongly enough!!!

Kirsten is an amazing pet sitter! This is our second or third time we’ve had Kirsten hangout with our pup! She sends lots of photos and updates throughout the day! You can tell she truly cares and loves your pets! We know Sonny was well taken care of and had an amazing time while we were away! Thanks Kirsten!

Gracie was great and everything we looked for in a dog watcher. She arrived at the scheduled visit times, made sure our dog went to the bathroom and ate, and played with her to get some of her energy out. We really appreciated the great photos and videos of our dog when we were away and we know she was being taken care of well. I would recommend Gracie to everyone.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
