“Kalli did a fantastic job taking care of our two kitties. She’s attentive and paid attention to detail when it came to our pet care. She even offered to spend extra time with the cats so they had some social interaction. We will definitely use Kalli again in the future.”

About: I’ve had and been around pets my whole life and have experience with animals of all sizes. I have house-sat, dog walked, and done routine checking on pets for multiple years for friends and family. I also volunteer at the animal shelter to help animals in need I’m currently working part time and only work a few days a week so I am available almost all the time to check in and help out with animals. My long shifts also contain breaks so I can interact with animals throughout the day even while working. I don’t typically stay overnight for house sitting because of the larger time commitment, but if that is something you are interested in I am able to add a small overnight fee to give your animals the care they need. I know how to handle all kinds of pets in all kinds of sizes and I care for each animal as if it were my own. The safety and health of your animal is my top priority while they are under my care.

About: i’ve never lived a day of my life without a dog (literally)! I started dog sitting when I was 15 and have taken care of up to three dogs at a time with varying age ranges from puppy to senior. I’m able to administer medication to different dogs and cats daily. I think there’s no better companion than my own dogs and cat, so I promise I will take the best care of yours! I can easily accommodate most schedules with daily checks. I have classes from 8 AM to 12 PM, but I’m able to wake up early to take care of animals. A few days a week I work at a restaurant until around 10 PM, but I am happy to go check on them throughout the day and then later in the evening if preferred. I always make sure medication‘s are put away, as well as any thing on the ground that they could get into. I typically watch my own dogs while they eat to make sure they eat everything but also to prevent any conflicts with resource guarding. When I check on animals, I tend to always play with them outside a little bit if they are dogs, or if the pet is more afraid, I just sit with them and talk with them for a few minutes.
“Caitlin was amazing. She had a preliminary visit to go over everything about my cat Scout, and Scout IMMEDIATELY fell in love with her. She wrote great summaries of visits and sent lots of pictures of Scout. Would recommend this sitter wholeheartedly. My first time using this app, and it went amazingly.”

I work in education which means awake for morning potty breaks and can be home just in time for when your furry friends want D-I-N-N-E-R. About: I’ve had and loved pets my entire life! (I was convinced I was going to be a vet until I realized I would very likely sob every time a pet got sick.) From my black lab, Raven, to my cats Lily and Langston, to now, my long-haired chihuahua, Midge, animals are just a part of the day-to-day! Since age 12, I’ve been petsitting for friends, family, and neighbors (including overnight stays) and cared for dogs who are super energetic, playful, and independent to dogs who experience some anxiety and might need a bit more attention❤️! I also have experience caring for a bit older doggos. My black lab, Raven, lived to 16 and as her mobility and needs changed, I changed with her and it really taught me to be very attentive, gentle, and adaptive to a pets needs. I’m comfortable and experienced with walking, feeding, brushing, playtime, litter boxes, and loving and attention when pets want or need it❤️! So whether your pet is super energetic and playful or just wants a calm, reassuring companion, I’m happy to match their vibe and energy and make them feel loved and at home☺️🐾! I’m a junior at Virginia Tech and started rover this past summer for a fun way to make some extra money and I love it so much!! My schedule is a bit more limited because of my academics and extracurriculars but I definitely want to continue this and make time for your animals🥰! Whether that be walks or drop in visits, or anything your pet might need, I would love to care for them❤️ Mainly, I care for pets in the comfort of their own home with walks, drop-ins, or anything else your pet might need! I make sure to stick to their routine, make sure they get plenty of playtime, attention, and exercise (or just hang out if that’s more their style!) I don’t usually host pets in my home, but I’m super flexible and want to make sure your pet feels happy and loved, and I’ll always make sure to send updates and pics📸🫶!
About: I am currently a student at Virginia Tech. I have been pet sitting and taking care of dogs for ten years and have loved each and every animal I have cared for as if they were my own. I have owned dogs and cats my whole life and have trained them myself as I got older. I have experience with puppies under the age of one and will play with them until they can’t play anymore. When I care for your pets, I promise to give them as much love and affection as they get when you are there (possibly even more). Your animals are my top priority when I am caring for them, and I will love them as much as you do until you can get back to them. I am able to care for your pets any time. I will be starting school in the fall, but that will not impact the way I love and care for your pets due to the way my class schedule is structured. I have a very friendly lab that loves to play with other dogs. I ensure that when I am in someone else’s home, I am supervising the dogs while I also make sure they are getting the exercise and enrichment required for their breed and temperament. Every dog needs different treatment, and I will adjust the way I care for them based on their own needs.
About: I worked at a small animal hospital for a year and a half over school breaks, so I can administer medications, do CPR, and work with a variety of dogs and cats. I also took many animal courses in college as an Animal Science major which helps me know more about animal behavior, training, and well-being. I fostered cats and have taken care of my own cats and dogs growing up. I also volunteer at an animal shelter in my free time to socialize cats and walk their dogs. I can provide any special instructions/requests you might have. I am a graduate student and am done classes! I have flexible work hours in a research lab and can make sure to be there for your pet! I am very reliable, responsible and will make sure you and your pet’s needs are met! I can feed, play, and cuddle with them along with any other requests you may have. I will do any tasks or instructions you provide me with for how you like things done with your pet in your home. I can take them on walks, play in your yard, practice training tasks, feed them, and provide mental stimulation.

“Hannah has been great with our pup! Our pup is a rescue very shy and timid, and Hannah has done an amazing job building trust with her. Hannah has such a calm and patient personality. Highly recommend!”

“We are so amazed by the care that Rita provided our boys when we were away. We knew from our initial meeting that she offers her services because she loves pets so much. We will definitely only hire her for our future needs and we recommend her without reservation!”

About: Hello, I'm Abby! If you worry about your pets when you're away, be rest assured that an animal care professional has your back. <3 Previously, I was a Rover sitter all throughout my undergraduate studies with frequent regulars. It is bittersweet, but I had to say goodbye to all of my fuzzy friends and their families when I moved away from Virginia Beach. Now, my day job is looking after research animals full-time for Virginia Tech! I have missed pet sitting and would love to have you as a client. I am experienced with a variety of breeds, ages, and unique needs! If you have special requests for exotic pets (fish, reptiles, small mammals, birds..) do not hesitate to reach out. What You Can Expect: * Compassion, respect, and patience! * Detail oriented care! * Communication at every visit! I will let you know that your pet has eaten, drank, been potty, etc... * Pictures! If you are comfortable with photos being taken of your pet in your home of course. * A caretaker you can trust. I currently work full-time and can handle drop ins in the early mornings and evenings. I would most likely visit your pet before & after my shifts. Lunchtime visits may be available with special request. When I come to you, I’ll make sure everything is the way I found it. I will keep an eye on your pets’ comfort levels and update you if anything is out of the ordinary.
“McCall did a great job with Ruby. She took her for walks in the neighborhood and played with her at the house. Ruby seemed to really enjoy being with her! It was good to see the photos she took too!”

“James was a great sitter for our dog, Teddy. He followed all of our care instructions, kept us updated with photos, and made sure Teddy had everything he needed while we were away. When we got home, Teddy was calm, relaxed, and settled right back into his routine. We’d be happy to book with James again.”

We were happy to have Kaylee care for our dog and look forward to having her return in the near future! She followed our instructions to the letter and took Kody on a nice long walk every day. She brings years of pet care experience to the job and had no trouble wrangling our 100-pound fur baby.

Olivia was absolutely amazing with both my pets and myself. I was very nervous to take such a long trip, but Olivia took pictures every visit, made notes about anything she thought I should know, and answered my questions quickly. I cannot recommend Olivia strongly enough!!!

Kirsten is an amazing pet sitter! This is our second or third time we’ve had Kirsten hangout with our pup! She sends lots of photos and updates throughout the day! You can tell she truly cares and loves your pets! We know Sonny was well taken care of and had an amazing time while we were away! Thanks Kirsten!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
