About: I’ve been taking care of dogs, cats, and chickens since I was 11. Recently I have been house sitting every few months taking care of 3 large dogs and 5 chickens. I have experience with animals of all sizes and types, including administering medication. I currently go to Virginia tech as a graduate student. I have a lot of free time during the day and throughout the night since I only have 1 or 2 classes each day with about 5 hours between the two. My cat has her own room with her toys and shelves set up. She also has an automatic feeder and water fountain. When at my clients house, I let the out into the backyard every 2 hours or as needed. I refill their water between bathroom breaks and they get fed twice a day. I stay at the house full time, play with the dogs throughout the day, and send photo updates daily. They also have chickens that I regularly change their food and water, collect eggs, and replenish their bedding.

About: I’ve been a dog owner of border collies since I was a child. I love all dogs and cats, the calm and even the high energy ones :) I’ve spent years taking care of my own pets (parakeets, rabbits, chinchillas, ferrets, cats and dogs) and so I’m familiar with the needed care for even some exotic animals. I love going for evening runs and since my dog Millie passed away, I’ve been missing having some companions with me :) Hello! I’m currently a student, but I live year-round in Blacksburg. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available during those odd, weekday hours! Every animal needs different things and a different way of being approached. Some animals need more high energy play time, fast frisbee throws and runs through the park. Some need the slower walks, cuddles on the couch and to stop and smell the flowers. Whatever speed of play your pet needs, I’m more than happy to accommodate!

About: I’ve cared for cats, dogs, and chickens my whole life and currently share my home with three cats, so multi-pet households and juggling different feeding routines are second nature to me. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies and kittens to anxious or reactive pets who need a calm, patient presence and a little extra trust-building. I also volunteer at my local animal nonprofit so caring for animals is a real part of my life. Whether it’s house sitting, drop-in visits, or dog walks, I follow your pet’s routine closely and send photo updates so you can relax while you’re away. I work a standard 9–5 on weekdays, so I’m available for morning, evening, and overnight visits during the week, plus weekends. There could be exceptions that come up, but I’ll always confirm timing in advance and stick closely to your pet’s usual feeding and walk schedule. Since I care for pets in your home, I treat your space with respect and follow your instructions to the letter. I keep doors and gates secured, always leash dogs before heading out, and stay alert to each pet’s comfort and body language. I lock up when I leave and send photo updates so you know everyone’s safe and happy.

About: I’ve spent the past 3 years volunteering with shelter dogs that were reactive, nervous, high energy, sensitive, untrained, and everything in between. My sister and I would take shelter dogs out for the day and bring them to the beach, on long walks, car rides, basically just let them have a full day outside of the shelter. That experience taught me a completely different level of dog care than I was used to from simply caring for my grandmother’s dog, Lulu. I learned how to recognize when a dog is uncomfortable, when to give them space, and how to work with their individual boundaries instead. Shelter dogs taught me that no two dogs are the same, and caring for them isn’t something to take lightly. I’ve also volunteered at the Staten Island Zoo for 2 years and have had animals around me my entire life. My pets back home in New York include my 8 year old cat Nemo, a blue tongued skink, bearded dragon, gecko, gerbils, tortoise, pixie frog, and more. My sister and I grew up going to animal expos, so I’ve had experience being around and caring for many different kinds of animals. Because of that, I’m very comfortable around animals, but I also know that being comfortable doesn’t mean ignoring their boundaries. I want to know their routine, personality, triggers, habits, favorite things, and anything else that helps them feel safe and comfortable. The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them! I’m a Virginia Tech student with a pretty open class schedule. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I only have class from 12:20–2:15 PM. Tuesdays are my busiest day, with classes from 9:30–12:15 PM, and on Thursdays I only have class from 11:00 AM–12:15 PM. Because of this, your pet would rarely be alone for long stretches; the longest would be around 3 hours on Tuesdays. Outside of class, I’m home and have plenty of time for walks, potty breaks, playtime, and keeping them company. I live at The Hub, which is a pet friendly community with its own dog park and plenty of outdoor spaces for walks and potty breaks. I’d only use the dog park if it’s empty. I’m also happy to skip it completely if that’s what you prefer! I’d follow whatever routine your dog is already used to and keep things as normal and comfortable for them as possible while they’re with me!

About: I have been around animals throughout my life and currently have a cat and a turtle. I also grew up with a dog and have previous experience pet sitting and walking dogs for family and friends. I am responsible, dependable, and comfortable caring for animals and following their individual routines and instructions. I am happy to provide walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, and general care based on each pet's needs. I understand that every pet is different, and I will do my best to make sure they are comfortable, safe, and well cared for. I work Monday through Friday during the day, so I am primarily available for pet care on weekday evenings, weekends, and holidays. My schedule allows me to be flexible with evening walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays, as well as longer stays on weekends and holidays. I am happy to communicate with owners ahead of time to make sure the timing works for both of us. I take pet safety and the owner's instructions seriously. I will follow each pet's normal routine, including feeding, walks, medications if needed, and any specific care instructions provided. I am attentive to pets and make sure they are in a safe and comfortable environment. When caring for pets in a client's home, I will treat their home respectfully and keep things clean and secure. I understand that trusting someone with your pet and your home is important, so I will communicate with the owner and provide updates as needed throughout the stay or visit.

About: I’ve owned and taken care of pets my whole life. I adore being around them and spending time playing, snuggling, walking, and giving them the best care. My family, neighbors, and friends all rely on me to take great care of their pets when they cannot. I am currently a student at Virginia Tech with only 1 class Monday-Thursday and would love to spend my free time with pets. I am completely open and very flexible to accommodate your schedules. I would love to pet sit weekdays as well as weekends. I have a backyard that I would love to play with dogs in, I have multiple trails near me to go for walks, and I will make sure your pet is comforted immensely when they are inside my home.

About: I am big about safety. Safety for your pet, community, and myself. I will always respect your pet and treat him as if he was my own. I slow down and take the time to get to know your pet and make sure he gets all the cuddles he deserves. I am a student at Virginia Tech, but I get out of my classes before 12:30 pm everyday, so I have a lot of availability. I work in EMS, so I know how important it is to go into a strangers home and make sure they are comfortable. This means no snooping around in peoples houses and treating everything in their house with respect. I will always own up to making a mistake, if one occurs.

About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. Once I could handle him, I took him out, walked him, and helped give baths. As an adult, I have done multiple pet-sitting jobs for neighbors and family friends. I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages. My job experience includes retail, landscaping, and food/bar service. Working late nights in downtown Blacksburg, I have become keen at cleaning up messes of all kinds. This summer, my schedule is wide open! I play pool a couple of nights a week, but that doesn't last for more than a few hours and I can always go late/leave early to get back to the pets. When the school year starts, I will schedule pet sitting around my class schedule. I am equipped to handle dogs of almost any size on a leash, and I love to play fetch in a yard/at the park. I can keep food and water bowls clean and full, I can crate dogs if needed, and I can keep a litter box clean!
