About: I have grown up with animals and lived on a farm since I was 11. I have had many special needs animals and have worked in a vet clinic as an assistant and a dog daycare with all sizes and ages. I am currently a full time student with frequent availability in the afternoons, evenings, and nights. When I am unavailable I am studying to become a vet! When caring for your animals I will provide the upmost care and safety practices. Your pet will be safe with me and all rules will be applied.
About: I’ve been a dog owner of border collies since I was a child. I love all dogs and cats, the calm and even the high energy ones :) I’ve spent years taking care of my own pets (parakeets, rabbits, chinchillas, ferrets, cats and dogs) and so I’m familiar with the needed care for even some exotic animals. I love going for evening runs and since my dog Millie passed away, I’ve been missing having some companions with me :) Hello! I’m currently a student, but I live year-round in Blacksburg. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m available during those odd, weekday hours! Every animal needs different things and a different way of being approached. Some animals need more high energy play time, fast frisbee throws and runs through the park. Some need the slower walks, cuddles on the couch and to stop and smell the flowers. Whatever speed of play your pet needs, I’m more than happy to accommodate!
About: I currently live with a German Shepherd (Cody) and a Black Lab (Joey). I have always had dogs growing up (mostly pugs). I love all dogs and being around them brings me so much joy! I am a graduate student at Virginia Tech studying Civil Engineering. I am available for free meet and greets to meet you and your pet! I am available to walk or check in with dogs (or cats) when I am not working on school or research. I am very loving towards dogs (and cats) and respectful of their homes. I treat everyone’s dogs and their homes with respect. I will be sure to keep your furry friend safe and happy!
About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and have been tasked with taking care of others dogs as well. I would love to take your dogs on walks, play fetch in the backyard, or just lounge around all day. I have yet to meet a dog I didn’t like and am not afraid to deal with any messes if needed. I'm currently in school and my schedule can change per week (not by much), but I will work with you to figure out what dates and times work for the both of us! Rover doesn't let me customize my availability by day, but this is my usual schedule: Mon: usually free, may have class scheduled 1-4 Tue: in class 9-4 Wed/Thurs: in class 9-3:30 Fri-Sun: free! If anything changes that prevents me from caring for your pets, I will let you know ASAP! I care for pets by providing a comfortable and loving environment for your pet while you’re gone. I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make your pet feel like it’s just another day at home! I understand some pets may not react well to strangers initially, but I am extremely patient and will work with your pet to reach a trusting relationship.
“Caroline was amazing! She took such great care of my dog George and went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and comfortable. I especially appreciated the adorable pictures and updates—such a thoughtful touch that made me feel at ease. You can tell she truly cares about the dogs she walks. I also really appreciated her flexibility and willingness to help out last minute. Highly recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and professional dog walker. Thank you again!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life and have nearly 7 years of dog sitting experience starting in middle school. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities and I pride myself on being extremely attentive, reliable, and detail oriented with every pet. I have experience handling multiple dogs at once including caring for up to five dogs for 7+ days, so I’m very comfortable with both longer stays in higher-energy households. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I also provide consistent updates so you can feel confident and not ease while you’re away. I’m a student at Virginia Tech with a flexible schedule, typically having at most two classes a day. Outside of class, I spent most of my time at home, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention, supervision, and care throughout the day. My routine makes it easy for me to incorporate walks, feeding, playtime, and check-in consistently. I’m able to adapt to each pets needs and schedule, whether that means early mornings, midday visits, or evening care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet friendly apartment with a fence dog area, so dogs have a safe place to get outside and play. I’m very attentive and make sure pets are always supervised and cared for based on their specific needs and routines. I also keep owners updated regularly so you always know how your pet is doing.
About: I’m going into my junior year at Virginia Tech with years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and small animals. I’ve grown up with pets my whole life and currently have a yellow lab at home in Richmond named Cheddar so I’m very comfortable with all ages, sizes, and energy levels. I’ve pet-sat for friends, neighbors, and family including overnight stays, feeding routines, daily walks, and giving pets lots of attention and playtime. I’ve also cared for fish and hamsters so I’m confident with small-pet needs too. I treat every pet like they’re my own! I’m happy to come to your home for pet care. Since I live in a college house most of the year, I actually prefer visiting your home where your pet is most comfortable. You can always text me to check my availability, and I’ll work around your schedule as best as I can. I have a car so getting to your home is easy and I’m happy to take your pet on walks or follow their normal routine. When caring for pets in a client’s home I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and stress free as possible. I make sure doors are secure, food and water are refreshed, and any instructions you give me are followed exactly. I’m respectful of your space and I treat your home with the same care and responsibility I treat your pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or quiet company, I make sure your pet feels safe while you’re away!

About: My family adopted a 10 month old rescue pup, Charlie, when I was 7 years old. For the 12 years that I got to spend with him he was my best friend. Although he was stronger than me the first few years of his life, I was still involved in his training and feeding care until I was big enough to take him out and walk him. Once I could handle him, I took him out, walked him, and helped give baths. As an adult, I have done multiple pet-sitting jobs for neighbors and family friends. I have taken care of dogs and cats of all ages. My job experience includes retail, landscaping, and food/bar service. Working late nights in downtown Blacksburg, I have become keen at cleaning up messes of all kinds. This summer, my schedule is wide open! I play pool a couple of nights a week, but that doesn't last for more than a few hours and I can always go late/leave early to get back to the pets. When the school year starts, I will schedule pet sitting around my class schedule. I am equipped to handle dogs of almost any size on a leash, and I love to play fetch in a yard/at the park. I can keep food and water bowls clean and full, I can crate dogs if needed, and I can keep a litter box clean!
“McCall is incredibly responsive and a great addition to our routine. She provides updates and pictures from their walk which is so appreciated. Our dog has epilepsy and she has gone out of her way to give my family peace of mind. I am confident our dog is happy and safe while in her care.”

About: I have taken care of both dogs and cats for as long as I can remember. I recently graduated with my BSN in Animal Sciences, and have been working in the veterinary field since 2022. I am currently working as a full-time emergency veterinary assistant. I currently work full-time at an emergency veterinary hospital. I have plenty of time on my days off and after work to care for your pets! I would be very comfortable taking your furry friends for walks, crating them, or just hanging out! I love all animals, and am looking forward to caring for your furry friend!
About: I love spending my time with pets and have a love for all animals. I grew up surrounded by my two big dogs and sitting for family, friends, and neighbors. I am a college student at Virginia Tech and have a very open class schedule. I have mornings, afternoons, and evenings open with the exception of a few hours for classes! I will not be able to house my clients pets in my home because I live in an apartment complex where pets are not welcome.

About: I have several years of hands on animal care experience through shelter volunteering and working as an animal caretaker. I’ve given medications, prepared specialized diets, monitored behavior, and helped vet teams with procedures and blood work. I’ve also taken shelter dogs on walks and even on road trips, so I’m comfortable handling different temperaments, energy levels, and new environments. I’m Fear Free certified, which means I focus on keeping pets calm and stress free, and my biology background helps me notice small health or behavior changes quickly. I’m patient, gentle, and comfortable caring for pets of all ages, including seniors or pets who need extra attention. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I keep my weekdays open specifically for bookings. I’m available Monday - Friday from 6am to 10pm, which lets me accommodate early morning walks, midday visits, and evening care. I like keeping a structured schedule, so I plan my day around the pets I’m caring for to make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and on time feedings. I focus on keeping pets safe, calm, and comfortable in their own environment. I follow all care instructions exactly, including feeding routines, medications, and activity levels. I’m very attentive to behavior and health changes, keep spaces clean and secure, and always make sure doors, gates, and leashes are handled carefully. My Fear Free certification means I use gentle handling and low stress approaches so pets feel safe and trust me while you’re away.
“My dog LOVES Maddie. Maddie has great communication and always tires out my dog on walks. I have a big dog that can pull and Maddie is able to manage her so well. Highly recommend Maddie to anyone looking for pet care!”

About: I have been taking care of my pets and the pets of family and friends for as long as I can remember. I also had about two years of experience with dealing with my senior dog, Ella, on multiple medications, supplements, and a special die. I am a graduate student, so my schedule is relatively flexible as long as it fits within my availability. I am more than happy to get up early or stay up late to visit a pet, and most weekends I am free all day. I thoroughly listen to and follow through with the instructions of every client and make sure to respect their wishes while simultaneously ensuring that the dog or cat is taken care of in the healthiest and most reassuring way to the pet owners.
“Natalie was a great communicator and took excellent care of Hughie! Her notes were very helpful since he’s a puppy and still working his manners, really appreciated Natalie’s service!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Blacksburg
Caelan was able to quickly jump on and start walking Hank on short notice. Hank was relaxed and well behaved after his time with Caelan so we appreciated his steadfastness with our silly and rambunctious boi. If our schedules had aligned we would have continued using him for walks.

If I could give Cori 10 stars, I would! Cori was responsive during scheduling, provided my dog with the care he needed and more, helped us identify a potential (minor, but uncomfy) medical issue, and was flexible during some unexpected changes to my day. Cori is very responsible and clearly knows dogs very well. Thank you, Cori, for making a stressful few weeks so much easier knowing my dog was being cared for so well by you.
Wonderful dog walker and pet sitter and a true animal lover! She walked my high-energy beagle/hound twice a week for about six months and even took her running, which she loves! She sends pictures every time, which I really appreciate. And she would give my cat some snuggles and attention, too. I called on her last month to pet sit in my home for several days while I was traveling, and she was awesome. I felt great knowing the pets were getting a lot of attention while I was away, and again, the pictures! Sad to see her leave our area-- she is fantastic!

Kaitlynn was so great with Copper! My pup can be rambunctious and I’ve been working with him while walking on a leash. I explained the things we’ve been working on, including clicker training. She was very knowledgeable and more than happy to follow our routine. She even gave me some tips and tricks on clicker training, too. I was very happy with Kaitlynn and will definitely be booking her again!

Ruth was absolutely fantastic! I was on light duty for a while and needed someone I could really trust to help exercise my Border Collie, Loki — and she turned out to be the perfect fit. Loki’s a high-energy dog who needs plenty of walks and attention, and Ruth handled him with total confidence and care. Even when I made a few mistakes in communication, she stayed patient, understanding, and professional the entire time. She kept me updated with messages and pictures, and it was clear from the start that she has a genuine passion for animals. Loki instantly loved her, which says a lot because he’s not always quick to warm up to new people. It’s rare to find someone this reliable and caring, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be booking with Ruth again in the future. THANK YOU, RUTH!!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
