About: I have lived with dogs my entire life and have been tasked with taking care of others dogs as well. I would love to take your dogs on walks, play fetch in the backyard, or just lounge around all day. I have yet to meet a dog I didn’t like and am not afraid to deal with any messes if needed. I'm currently in school and my schedule can change per week (not by much), but I will work with you to figure out what dates and times work for the both of us! Rover doesn't let me customize my availability by day, but this is my usual schedule: Mon: usually free, may have class scheduled 1-4 Tue: in class 9-4 Wed/Thurs: in class 9-3:30 Fri-Sun: free! If anything changes that prevents me from caring for your pets, I will let you know ASAP! I care for pets by providing a comfortable and loving environment for your pet while you’re gone. I am more than willing to do whatever it takes to make your pet feel like it’s just another day at home! I understand some pets may not react well to strangers initially, but I am extremely patient and will work with your pet to reach a trusting relationship.

About: I have taken care of a variety of animals for many years. Most of my experience is with dogs but I also have experience pet sitting for cats, reptiles, and even horses! I grew up in a home with a Rottweiler and a chocolate lab so I am comfortable with dogs of any size. Additionally, I have some experienced with puppies, specifically with caring for puppies as young as 4 weeks old. I’m currently a college student so I am available in the middle of the day if needed! Additionally, I am free most weekends and am always willing to get up early if necessary! About: I’ve spent the past 3 years volunteering with shelter dogs that were reactive, nervous, high energy, sensitive, untrained, and everything in between. My sister and I would take shelter dogs out for the day and bring them to the beach, on long walks, and on car rides, basically just let them have a full day outside of the shelter. That experience taught me a completely different level of dog care than I was used to from simply caring for my grandmother’s dog, Lulu. It taught me patience, how to adjust to each dog’s personality, and got me very comfortable spending a whole day out with a dog! The most I’ve walked with a dog in one day was 11 miles, so if you’re worried about your dog getting enough exercise, I’m always happy to put in the miles! Whether your dog loves long walks or prefers a slower stroll with plenty of sniffing, I’m happy to go at their pace! I learned how to recognize when a dog is uncomfortable, when to give them space, and how to work with their individual boundaries. Shelter dogs taught me that no two dogs are the same, and caring for them isn’t something to take lightly. I’ve also volunteered at the Staten Island Zoo for 3 years and have had animals around me my entire life. My pets back home in New York include my 8 year old cat Nemo, a blue tongued skink, bearded dragon, gecko, gerbils, tortoise, pixie frog, and more. My sister and I grew up going to animal expos, so I’ve had experience being around and caring for many different kinds of animals. Because of that, I’m very comfortable around animals, but I also know that being comfortable doesn’t mean ignoring their boundaries. I want to know their routine, personality, triggers, habits, favorite things, and anything else that helps them feel safe and comfortable. The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them! I’m a Virginia Tech student with a pretty open class schedule. Classes usually take up only about two hours of my day, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pet. I’m happy to take dogs on long walks and give them lots of time outside if that’s what they enjoy. When we’re home, they’ll have my attention too, whether they want to play, relax together, or just have someone nearby. I live at The Hub, which is a pet friendly community with its own dog park and plenty of outdoor spaces for walks and potty breaks. I’d only use the dog park if it’s empty. I’m also happy to skip it completely if that’s what you prefer! I’d follow whatever routine your dog is already used to and keep things as normal and comfortable for them as possible while they’re with me!

About: I have 6+ years of experience with multiple animal species, including dogs and cats of various sizes and attitudes. As a third year veterinary student, I am also capable of handling daily treatments as needed. I’m currently a full-time veterinary student, but year 3 has a schedule perfect to work with your pets. About: I worked at a small animal hospital for a year and a half over school breaks, so I can administer medications, do CPR, and work with a variety of dogs and cats. I also took many animal courses in college as an Animal Science major which helps me know more about animal behavior, training, and well-being. About: I owned a Husky, Chesapeake Bay, and Pomeranian. I love all dogs and am good at taking them on walks and spending time with them. I am doing this part time. I am flexible depending on the day. About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, I’ve dog sat for friends and neighbors for the past couple years. Love all types of pets! I’ve trained my family dogs so have some experience with that aswell. My personal dog takes medication so I can handle pet care with medication assistance. I’m currently home from college this summer and working a part time job so I have a lot of availability to help out anyone who needs pet care! I can accommodate to any needs for the pet and owner. I find I function best when I care for an animal as it keeps me on task, on schedule, and mentally happy, too! Our two family cats are fed early in the am/pm, plenty of (consensual) belly rubs, a daily lil' treat, playtime and plenty of nap time as well as personal space, as they see fit. We also share the past-time of birdwatching in the countryside. ✨ When it comes to your pet and your home, I am dedicated to respecting your pet's dietary restrictions, physical "play" needs, and always approaching with love and respect, as I will be the guest in their/your home. Between a strict regimen or low-maintenance regimen for your animal, I would require meeting with you/them in your space beforehand to make sure I get a thorough briefing. I also believe this helps with introductory bonding, showing I am a safe person to trust, and not cause unwanted stress on your pet.

About: I am a Senior at Virginia Tech majoring in Animal and Poultry Science. I have spent years volunteering with all kinds of dogs through shelters and working at a daycare. I have also completed internships at multiple humane societies, I have done an internship as a Service Dog Trainer Assistant and I have shadowed a Behavior Veterinarian. I love all animals and will provide the best care possible! I am a full time student at Virginia Tech studying Animal and Poultry Science with scattered availability but I try to keep my Rover schedule up to date.
