I currently only have one exam left, so my schedule is essentially wide open! I'm in Blacksburg and available May 9–12 and May 16–22, with virtually nothing on my plate during those windows. Whether you need someone for a full house sit, multiple check-ins throughout the day, early morning visits, or late night drop-ins, I can make it work. Flexibility is my strong suit right now, so don't hesitate to reach out no matter the timing or frequency!

Safety, trust & environment

I'm happy to care for pets both in my home and in yours! For in-home sitting and visits at your place, I'm completely comfortable following whatever routine, rules, and setup you have in place, your home, your way. If you'd like your pet to stay with me, I welcome that too! Just note that I live in an apartment, so I don't have a fenced-in yard, but my complex has a dog park and is surrounded by beautiful neighborhood nature trails that are perfect for walks and exploring. I'd also ask that you send everything your pet needs along with them (crate, food/water bowls, bed, toys, leash, etc.) so they have the comfort of their own familiar belongings, which is honestly better for them anyway!

Information Alyssa K. would like to know about your pet

The more I know about your pet ahead of time, the better I can care for them! Please share their feeding schedule and any dietary restrictions, any behavioral quirks or triggers I should be aware of (reactivity, separation anxiety, fearfulness around strangers, etc.), any medical needs or medications, and how they typically warm up to new people. No detail is too small. I want to make sure your pet feels as safe and comfortable as possible from the moment we meet!

A typical day

A typical day with me means both physical and mental stimulation! We'll explore the nature trails and dog park in my complex, play games like fetch and tug, and work on tricks and training. When it's downtime, your pet won't be left alone; they'll be curled up with me while I watch TV or study. For cats, expect lots of playtime, enrichment, and, of course, plenty of cuddles on demand!

Pet care experience

I've grown up surrounded by animals my entire life, and that hands-on experience is what truly sets me apart. I was raised with three cats (2 indoor, 1 outdoor), caring for them from kittenhood all the way through end-of-life care, including demanding daily routines and administering medication. I also have two dogs of my own: a Mini Australian Shepherd I raised from a puppy and personally trained. He’s so smart he keeps me on my toes, which means I know exactly how to handle high-energy, high-drive breeds and the escape artists of the dog world. The other is a large pitty mix we adopted at age two who came to us with leash pulling, reactivity, excessive barking, and rough play habits, all of which I've worked through and successfully managed. I know how to confidently handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Beyond cats and dogs, I've owned two guinea pigs, a hamster, and fish, so I understand the specific and often overlooked needs of small pets too. I've also assisted my sister in fostering cats, many of whom were shy, post-surgical, or required medication and special feeding instructions, so I'm completely comfortable with pets that need a little extra patience and TLC. Most recently, I pet sat a kitten over spring break 2026, and I'm always happy to sit for other pet owners' animals as well. As a sophomore in Alpha Chi Omega, I bring the same reliability, respect, and communication to pet sitting that I bring to everything I do. I treat every pet as if they were my own, follow your routines to the letter, and love keeping owners in the loop with regular updates, photos, and videos, as often as you'd like. If you're looking for someone experienced, trustworthy, and genuinely passionate about animals, I'm your person!

Ally was exceptional! She came for a visit to meet my crew and go over their care, diligent to take notes and ask questions during and after our meeting! She was prompt, communicative and of course loving with my babies! She took the girls on walks, gave them plenty of outside time, cleaned up around the house and even left me a note for when I came home. I had an emergency on my last day out of town which caused me to stay an extra night, she was flexible and kind during the entire circumstance and happily offered to stay an extra night with them. She gave me updates and photos of my babies being extra sweet. I came home to calm, quiet and happy dogs. They’re usually wild and anxious when I return from trips, but they didn’t even bark when I came home! They definitely loved Ally & got a ton of love! Even my antisocial cat was fond of her! I’d definitely recommend Ally. I can’t remember the last time I had NO anxiety while being away from my fur babies and vice versa! My pets & I are team Ally, all the way!

Ally loves animals and pet sitting. She has experience in pet sitting for her friends when they go out of town. She has cared for fish, dogs, and cats. She specifically loves to play and walk dogs. She has a knack of getting the animals to engage in play. She also knows when to just be there for cuddles. She was raised with dogs, cats, hamsters, and horses. Ally is also highly reliable and dependable.

Ally is the best person for pet care that I know. She has two dogs and a cat back at home. She’s grown up with pets her whole life and does an amazing job taking care of them and making sure they’re both healthy and happy. She has watched my dog numerous times before and does an amazing job!
