“Jorrian was fantastic! She came in and did everything i needed her to do plus more. Very communicative and super interactive with your pet. Thank you SO much for dropping in to check in on him. Auggie and I appreciate you :)”

“My little old man has never been much for other people.. Olivia was patient with him and gave him the time he needed to come out and eat! She handled his moodiness and his meds (not for moodiness sadly 😆) while also wrangling the 9month psycho kitten! I will 100% be a repeat customer”

“Gabby did a great job with Reuben. He looked very happy and relaxed. I appreciate her sending pics during the visit, and the fact that she picked us up as a first time walker on very short notice.”

“Zoe took great care of our dog! She really spent time with her and made sure she was not only fed and given potty breaks but also cuddled and cared for! She even brought in our packages and pulled up our trash can while we were gone.”

About: I have years of experience of animal handling. I have worked as a zoo educator and have pet sat for years. I have a passion for animals and their well being. I’m available most days for visits and overnight stays. You can contact me through the app and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Your pet’s safety and happiness are my priorities while caring for them. I’m experienced and comfortable with administering medication (oral and injections). I have stayed overnight for clients many times and have a few repeat clients.
“Katie you were so amazing with my sweet Maisie!! It gave me so much relief to know she was well cared for before she had to be alone for the rest of the night while I was at work. Thank you for being so caring and loving on my girl!!”

About: In addition to caring for my own dog and cat, I've also helped with my neighbor's dog, and my sister's dogs. I've got a fully fenced in back yard that's almost a full acre. And my german shepherd is incredibly sweet and gentle around other animals. I keep my weekends free so I can hang out with your pet! With school out my 15 year old daughter is home too and is eager to help love on some new pooches. My mother is also home most of the time working, and we are used to loud dog barks! In my home I have a German shepherd upstairs full time and a pit bull mix downstairs in the afternoon. Both are sweet and energetic and love new dogs! My cat does better with people, but she knows how to stay out of dodge when its needed. We do crate our dog when we leave the house but she free roams at night, alternating between the bed and the floor and the couch as she pleases. I would require your dog to be crate trained in case I need to leave the house during a boarding session. In your home, your rule is law. Whether its feeding your cat a carefully measured amount of wet food or keeping the litter box filled exactly half way, your standards are mine and I'm happy to go the extra mile. Likewise for a doggy drop-in to walk and feed. I always pick up after my pet on a walk so your neighbors have nothing to fear from me. And I'm used to reigning in a 90lb German shepherd who wants to make friends with every neighborhood stray cat so you can rest assured that I can keep hold of your dog on a walk.
About: I formerly worked at a dog kennel, where I’ve gained hands-on experience with just about every type of dog imaginable. I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and caring for them is truly my passion. I’m confident and prepared to handle just about anything — from administering medications to working with dogs of all sizes & personalities. I’ve cared for sick dogs, broken up countless dog fights, and responded to emergencies, including situations involving major injuries. No matter the circumstance, I’m dedicated to making sure every dog feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I have a part time job, but can work around it! Please just let me know as far ahead in advance as you can. Thanks :) I don’t plan to bring dogs into my home, but during drop-in visits I’ll make sure your pup gets plenty of TLC — including playtime, bathroom breaks, feeding, and oral medication if needed. If there’s anything extra you’d like me to do, just let me know — I’m happy to help!
About: I have been a dog lover all my life! I have done drop in visits, walks, boarding, and house sitting for 10+ years and now I have two dogs at home (a giant puppy and 9 year old pitbull). I know what it is like to be in need of help with a dog (and/or house), so I know how appreciated clear communication and mindful care mean when it comes to the ones we love!!
“Sharon was fantastic!! We are new to the area and needing to find someone to watch our furbabes while we were away. She answered all of my many questions and was so patient and kind. Our dogs loved her and were so spoiled when we got home!! We couldn't be happier and will 100% use her again! Highly recommend!!”
“Katie did an excellent job taking care of Tomás. She was responsible, attentive, and caring. She kept me updated and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and trust her again in the future.” 🐱”

Selena took care of my pets so well!!! She had to take care of a lot of rodents, each with their own care instructions, and she did so flawlessly! Last minute I asked her to give them medication (orally) and she did so without any problem! Rodents are a lot more difficult than cats or dogs so book her!
Bailey is wonderful! We have a big dog, and she took such great care of him while we were out of town. He was struggling with some hot spots too, and she took exceptionally great care of those, applying mel-a-ket multiple times a day. The hot spots were pretty much healed when we got back from our trip.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Salem with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.
