“Once again, Jennifer was terrific! She is reliable, compassionate and professional taking care of our pets. She was also flexible when I made a date error with our booking this time. I would not hesitate to rebook anytime we are out of town.”

“We really appreciate Samantha’s care for our fur babies. She is very responsive, takes the time to play with them, and provides plenty of pics to let us know how they’re doing.”

“Selena was able to watch my cat with only three days notice. My regular sitter canceled at the last minute before my vacation. My cat was happy and healthy when I returned home. The feeding schedules were a little different than he was used to because we were squeezed in at the last minute.”

About: I am a responsible college student who has always been comfortable around dogs and caring for animals. Through previous work experience in juvenile detention, I have developed strong patience, responsibility, and the ability to stay calm in stressful situations. I enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and making sure pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. I am a college student working part-time, so I stay busy but maintain a flexible schedule. I am unavailable Mondays and Tuesdays, but I am available most afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I enjoy staying active and am happy to help with walks, drop-ins, feeding, and making sure your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I take safety and trust very seriously and always make sure pets are cared for exactly how the owner requests. I pay close attention to routines, feeding instructions, leash safety, and making sure pets feel comfortable in their environment. I am responsible, dependable, and will always treat your pet with the same care I would give my own.
About: I’ve had dogs and cats ranging in ages my entire life. I would love to treat your pets like my own. I have experience with separation anxiety in dogs, mischievous chewers, puppy training, and severe food allergies. I am confident in giving medicines to your fur babies as my own often find themselves taking medications. I also know how important maintaining your pups daily routine can be while you are gone. I am a teacher on summer break, therefore I am available all day to work with your pet babies! Would love to hang out with your pet on the greenway or just in the yard and fill my days with some puppy smiles. I currently have two dogs of my own Biscuit and Rusty with very unique needs. Rusty has been my companion for the last 9 years. He’s been through many moves and adjustments with me. Currently Rusty is beginning to show signs of arthritis so we are adjusting our care to best fit our little old man. More recently, my husband and I adopted a 1 1/2 year old Pit Bull named Biscuit. Biscuit has allowed me to gain experience caring for a dog with extreme allergies. She is the most playful of the two and is always keeping us laughing. I have experience giving daily medicine as well as dealing with an upset doggy stomach. We love our two fur babies and treat them as part of our family and I will extend this love and care to your fur babes too!
“Josh did an excellent job with our dogs. He was reliable, played with them and took them on walks. I loved not having to worry about them. He communicated and showed up when he was supposed to. Will use him again.”

“Alyssa is absolutely AMAZING!! She took my booking at the very last minute. She’s a God send!! Isla was clearly happy to make a new friend. “Hunter is an absolutely great pet sitter. She has helped me out well over 50 times and she consistently provides great service. She is good in communication and takes time to form a connection with those in her care. Hunter is a kind person, even delivering dinner to me after my mother passed recently. Such a jewel! I can't recommend her enough!”

“Lejuana always does a wonderful job with our kitties. She gives a lot of TLC and also has to give meds which is quite the feat! I always feel secure going out of town when she keeps my kitties. I know they are in good hands!”

“This was our first time using Rover. Cate made us feel at ease and less anxious leaving our kitties for the week. She sent pictures everyday and was easy to communicate with. We will be asking for her again for sure!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salem
Hank sure enjoys the drop in visits from Michael. Michael checks the water, food, and litter - but then spends some quality time playing, petting, and interacting with Hank (and sending a few pics) . Michael's drop in visits during our last two vacations have been great, and we will use him again when available.

Selena was able to watch my cat with only three days notice. My regular sitter canceled at the last minute before my vacation. My cat was happy and healthy when I returned home. The feeding schedules were a little different than he was used to because we were squeezed in at the last minute.

Bailey is wonderful! We have a big dog, and she took such great care of him while we were out of town. He was struggling with some hot spots too, and she took exceptionally great care of those, applying mel-a-ket multiple times a day. The hot spots were pretty much healed when we got back from our trip.

Jade always takes excellent care of my pets! She is attentive to detail and always leaves my place the same (or better) than how I left it. My cat was congested this past stay and she even ran a hot shower to give him some time in a steam room to help him out. She consistently goes above and beyond!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
