âSamantha was wonderful. She went above and beyond to make sure our dogs were well taken care of. She provided several pictures per check-in, daily reassurance all was well and took the initiative to clean up after our the dogs too. We highly recommend Samantha.â

âCindy was fantastic! From being extremely patient navigating an issue with Rover displaying her rate correctly, to accomodating our last minute request, to calling a locksmith (per my request) when the key we left her didn't work, to helping when we had a leak in our basement, she consistently went above and beyond. Not to mention buying food for our cat when she couldn't get into the house and being so good to him and sending several pictures every visit. We were beyond thrilled with her service and absolutely plan on hiring her again!â

About: Iâve had dogs, usually multiple ones, living with me for my entire life. I just so enjoy being with them and I have a very flexible work schedule so I can always help take care of your furry friend! I work from home and can always set my own schedule so I can be available almost anytime. I will make it a priority to take care of your dog. I have a pig named Beaker living with me and he has a wonderful personality and lives all other dogs. Iâll happily follow any directions you have for your baby and live to play with dogs in any fashion.
About: Iâve been the âdog personâ in my family since I was young. Whether itâs walks, belly rubs, treats, or playtime, I always make sure pets feel happy and cared for. I treat every dog like my own and love making them feel safe, understood, and spoiled. I have an open and flexible schedule, so pet care fits in perfectly. Iâm available for walks, check-ins, or last-minute needs at almost any time of day. I only care for pets in the clientâs home, where they feel most comfortable. I follow their normal routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest while keeping their environment safe, calm, and familiar.
âJosselyn was great! She was miraculously available super last minute and very flexible about coming out to take care of my dogs. My dogs can be a little difficult sometimes and she took the time to make them feel comfortable and calm. She was great!â

âThey seemed a little grumpy to me tonight too. They are both alpha dogs and itâs always âwho is top dog today?â Thank you once again for helping us with our fur babies. Have a good rest of your weekendâ

About: You can trust your pup with me! My love for dogs and animals started when I was a child and has grown into a deep bond and genuine care for every dog I meet. I truly go above and beyond when it comes to pet care â and in my book, a little spoiling is always included. ;) Iâve had decades of hands-on experience caring for dogs since 2004, from training my first Mini Schnauzer, Ally, as a puppy to providing specialized senior care as she got older. In 2009, my husband and I rescued our first senior Schnauzer, Smokey, and cared for him through several medical issues including seizures, gastroenteritis, and inner ear infections. Iâm extremely attentive to a dogâs needs, personality, comfort, and safety, and I always stay alert to make sure theyâre happy, secure, and out of trouble. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your fur baby, and I would care for your dog like one of my own. *Please note: I can only accommodate dogs up to 15 lbs. Requests above this size will be declined. Please do not request bookings for larger dogs. Iâm a stay-at-home pet parent, which allows me to give my full attention and care to both my own dog and the pets staying with me. At our home, pets are treated like family and will receive lots of love, attention, supervision, and playtime throughout the day. We have a securely fenced yard for safe outdoor time, potty breaks, and play, but dogs will always be supervised while outside. I pay close attention to each dogâs personality, comfort level, routines, and needs to help them feel safe and relaxed while away from home. Whether your pup enjoys playtime, walks, cuddles, or simply relaxing in a calm environment, Iâm happy to accommodate their routine as closely as possible. I also understand the importance of consistency, patience, and attentiveness, especially for senior dogs or pets with special needs.
âJessika is so great with Beau! He's always entertained, loved and spoiled with her. She gives him little massages which puts him right to sleep! Definitely would recommend her for your pet needs.â

âKerry was very patient and understanding of our reactive dog while watching our cat as well, and she did a great job with him. Communication and punctuality were excellent and she was receptive to any feedback or suggestions about the dog. She even committed to an additional meet and greet to help make him more comfortable for the pet sitting.â

âWill is awesome! This was our first time using Will and he did a great job. I was gone for 9 days and was updated constantly. One of my cats gets spicy and temperamental. Will handled it with ease and got her back to feeling comfortable within a few days. When I came home my cats were happy and my house was clean. Everything was just as I left it. Thanks will!â

âKatie did a great job!! She was very personable and easy to work with. She checked in with pictures and texts throughout her stay. I have five dogs that have different energy levels and personalities and Katie mastered them all! I will definitely have her back and recommend her highly.â
âJosh did an excellent job with our dogs. He was reliable, played with them and took them on walks. I loved not having to worry about them. He communicated and showed up when he was supposed to. Will use him again.â

About: Iâve had a fond love for all animals since childhood! Iâve taken care of all kinds of dogs since I was 16, including seniors with precise schedules, pets requiring special medications and/or dietary restrictions, and puppies requiring constant supervision. Iâve currently just moved back to Virginia and am looking for a flexible work schedule so Iâll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I can drop in for some quality time or stay overnight if needed. I have a dog and 2 cats of my own who have special medication and dietary needs. I can walk your dogs, crate them easily if needed and play with them plenty.

About: I have taken care of pets and houses for friends and family on many occasions and would love to care for your pets while youâre away. I will be available as often as needed to take care of your pets. I can be flexible to work with you for your petâs needs. I feed and walk my dog and my past clients dogs twice daily. Additionally, I provide enrichment play for both cats and dogs each day I watch them.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
