“Eve was fantastic with my nervous dog Howard and took great care of him and sent regular pics and updates to let me know he was doing well, and even took him for a few walks with her dogs. Her communication was great and her own dogs and cat were sweet and accepting of Howard too. Eve is very friendly and made me feel comfortable that Howard was safe with her. I'll recommend her and will use her services again myself!”

“Elise was amazing! She took my booking at the last minute and cared for my dog, Mix, as if he were her own. While I was away, she sent plenty of updates and adorable pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear Mix felt loved and well cared for. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’ll definitely be booking Elise again in the future. Highly recommend her services!”

“Absolutely amazing. So great with pick up and drop off and I got lots of pictures of my happy dog. 100% will be using her again and would highly recommend her to anyone else.”

“5 stars isn't enough for Susan and Ken! Kuma was treated like royalty the entire weekend. What blew me away was their incredible communication—even when I was off the grid with zero service, they kept me completely in the loop. They truly put their heart into pet care. If you want total peace of mind while you're away, book Susan and Ken immediately!”

“David Is calm and caring and took great care of Watson. I don’t often leave Watson but when I do he usually comes home unnerved. That was not the case this time. Thank you!”
“I came home to a happy dog! I know having my energetic lab for a rainy weekend was not easy. I appreciate the flexibility with drop-off and pickup times and I love her way with animals. I'll be a lot less uneasy about leaving my pup after this good experience.”

“Very friendly and great communication. Erin sent several pictures throughout the weekend, which was great for my first time ever leaving my dog with a sitter. My pup also seemed very happy and cared for while I was away. Highly recommend!!”

“Lisa and her family did a great job watching our puppy for over a week while we were on our honeymoon. Our dog LOVED their 2 dogs and them having a fenced in backyard was perfect for him. She responded very quickly and was respectful and professional. She sent us updates and pictures, so we were always in the know on our pup. We could tell he had a blast and was well taken care of and they stuck to his daily routine which really helped too! We will definitely be booking with her family again for future vacations!”

“Jody took amazing care of our two pups while we were gone for a long weekend. She has a wonderful setup with a fenced in yard for pups to hang out and explore. She provided over the top service feeding my pups eggs when they wouldn’t eat their food and providing a fan for when they came back inside from running around. She was a delight to deal with from start to finish and sent us pictures while we were gone as well. Highly recommend her!! Thanks again Jody!”

“Every time we drop our dogs over there, they come back happy and tired from having a lot of exercise and fun with the other dogs. I would definitely recommend leaving your dog with them. I would definitely use them again also.”
About: Hi! My name is Jordan, and I’ve taken care of animals my entire life, i’m an animal lover as they say. We have had 3 dogs growing up: 2 boxers and a great dane; and now i have 2 spoiled rotten golden retrievers and a great dane who passed away in March of 2026. I have excellent experience in animal care. Friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and care in any way possible for their animals. I work from home and my job is INSANELY flexible. I come and go as i please for work; and make my own schedule/hours. So attending to your pet all day is no issue what so ever. I am a die hard animal lover, so I would care for your pet the way I care for mine. I have experience in giving oral meds by hand, and adding meds onto food etc. I have a picky eater, so if you have a picky eater and need someone who can manage, i am your girl! I would rather hand feed your dog than them just not eat due to stress/anxiety. I am a picture guru, so you will receive pics even if you don’t ask for them. I only ask that you are honest with me when it comes to the needs your pet has and the needs you as an individual expect. I have been in the customer service industry for a very very long time; and communication is key, ALWAYS. Now that i’ve written a novel, i am easy to get ahold of with any questions, comments, or concerns! I look forward to caring for your critters! I work from home full time and have a very large fenced in backyard at my house! I am able to let your dog out as much or as little as you’d like! I sit at home all day and work with my 2 goldens so they are spoiled plum rotten! I am able to care for your pets by providing multiple updates throughout your pets stay, as well as plenty of pictures. I am able to follow specific guidelines given to me by clients to ensure their pet has a safe stay at my home

“Olivia always has been so wonderful to Gatsby. Always making sure Gatsby gets her exercise. The whole family has been so understanding and so delightful to see. We always trust Olivia and Samantha to keep Gatsby as she feels comfortable & so happy to stay with them. We all are so excited to visit her favorite dog sitter again! Thank you all!! -Stacie, Chris and Gatsby”

“Leaving my baby girl alone was hard, but knowing that she was in great hands made everything so much better. Loved the pictures and updates, Star seemed to have a great time. Will definitely book with her again.”

“Karin and her family took great care of my dog. He had a great time and was very happy when I picked him up. I greatly appreciated the pictures Karon sent and her great communication.”

“Amanda was great with our dog while we were away for over a week. Her dogs got along with mine and they even shared toys. She also has a large fenced in yard for him to run around. She sent lots of pictures and updates and did a great job communicating with us along with being very punctual and reliable throughout the stay and during drop off and pickup times. Would definitely recommend to others!”

“Selena was an 11th hour request and she accommodated me and my little ones with no issues at all. Selena kept all 3 of my dogs for 3.5 days and they enjoyed their time with her. She kept me posted with pictures and an update. She asked questions if she saw something odd and she let me know how they were doing. I would not have gone on vacation had I not felt comfortable with our first conversation where she told me that she allows the dogs to roam the house and be part of the family. ❤️ if you book with Selena, you can have peace of mind! I'll be booking with her again, no doubt!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Cloverdale
We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Shawn! We left our two Yorkies, Brooklyn and Charlie, in her care, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. From the beginning, Shawn made us feel completely comfortable and confident that they were in great hands. She was incredibly caring, attentive, dependable, and treated Brooklyn and Charlie as if they were her own. It gave us tremendous peace of mind knowing they were with someone who genuinely cared about them and made sure they were happy, comfortable, and well looked after while we were away. Leaving your dogs with someone else can always be a little stressful, but Shawn made the entire experience easy and worry-free. We came home to two happy Yorkies, which says everything! We would absolutely trust Shawn with Brooklyn and Charlie again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and exceptional pet sitter. She truly went above and beyond, and we feel very fortunate to have found her. Five stars without question!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
