“Josh was a lifesaver in providing assistance with my puppy. He had the flexibility (last minute, I may add) to do drop-in visits for potty breaks, play and lunch time. Josh has been great and I appreciate everything he has done and my Anubis seems to enjoy his visits as demonstrated through the pictures I receive.”

“They were patient with us even though we forgot to give them the door code before they arrived, and they stayed longer than we booked to make sure everyone was happy and comfortable! Will definitely book again”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for years usually for friends and family. My parents have four dogs so I’m very comfortable taking care of them. I am currently a grad student so I have a lot of availability in the evenings and weekends! I can stay overnight so that you can enjoy trips worry free. I can follow any instructions that you give me so that you feel comfortable with me keeping your pets! Making sure that you are worry free while away from your pets is so important.
About: I grew up with cats and have helped care for friends and family's pets for overnights. I drive for animal rescues to help save animals at risk of euthanasia. Most of my recent experience is with puppies and adult dogs but feel confident I can help with most any pet. I am a huge animal lover and can't wait to meet you and your pets. I have varied availability to care for pets with walks, drop ins, and overnights. I have kept animals in my home for friends and family. I have also stayed with animals in their home. I can administer meds but not injections.
“Katie did a great job!! She was very personable and easy to work with. She checked in with pictures and texts throughout her stay. I have five dogs that have different energy levels and personalities and Katie mastered them all! I will definitely have her back and recommend her highly.”
“Megan was a great caretaker for our cat, Penny, while we were out of town for 5 days. We got great pictures and updates every day and know that Penny was well taken care of. Thank you!”

About: I’ve had a fond love for all animals since childhood! I’ve taken care of all kinds of dogs since I was 16, including seniors with precise schedules, pets requiring special medications and/or dietary restrictions, and puppies requiring constant supervision. I’ve currently just moved back to Virginia and am looking for a flexible work schedule so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! I can drop in for some quality time or stay overnight if needed. I have a dog and 2 cats of my own who have special medication and dietary needs. I can walk your dogs, crate them easily if needed and play with them plenty.
About: Owned a dog since forever. Currently have 2 shelties-3yrs and 1yrs old. But have taken care of dogs all breeds, sizes, ages, and stages of life. I am currently taking a break from my career to reset, recharge, and just enjoy life with my 2 young Shelties. Daily we walk, run, play. It is part of our life. Cat wise my cats care is part of our daily routine. I spoil them and have cat trees in windows for them to watch the neighborhood and provide them with all their favorite toys. Walking and drop in service wise- let me know times, dates, ways to enter the house. If able I would love to bring my dogs to join. If not that is fine. I am willing to walk as much and as long as needed. Drop in share what you need and I will help. I can also give medications if needed.
“We lucked out scoring Savannah’s availability last minute to care for our two senior dogs and energetic doodle puppy. She was always prompt in her communication and arrival times, made best friends with the pups immediately, and asked great questions in order to best understand their routine. She provided detailed communication regarding her visits including unsolicited confirmation of instructions being understood and followed (so reassuring!), always with the most adorable photos of all the fun they’d had. Oral meds for our senior dogs were no problem, as she’s knowledgeable and experienced in all kinds of animal care—so much so that she was even able to give wellness updates on my backyard chickens! Highly recommend, and will absolutely be seeking Savannah’s services again the next time we need care for our diverse group of pets!”

“Courtney did a fantastic job with our pups while we were gone. She was punctual each day, and I never worried that the dogs were alone for too long at any given time. Her updates were more than adequate, and everybody was happy! I'd definitely recommend her help to anybody looking for a stress-free dog sitter!”

“Karmen is so amazing!! She made my nervous cat feel very safe and at ease. She is responsive, responsible, and caring. Karmen goes above and beyond and is very much an animal person at heart. I couldn't recommend her more highly if you need someone to take great care of your pet!”

About: I've been training dogs since I was 13, and some were from a newborn litter of pups. I know how to handle young and older dogs and cats. I love animals wholeheartedly and love helping others. It'd be my pleasure to take your dog for a walk! I'm a server at night monday- Saturday and on Sunday I work in the afternoon. I'm usually off 2-3 days a week and go in at 5-5:30. So I will have lots of free time to come play with your cutie pies! I have a big yard that's fenced in and Ive been trained on how to properly leash a dog. I have a kennel I wash in between use.(only if it is recommended or needed).
About: I have three fur babies, golden retriever x2, and a blue heeler mix. Having animals is such pure joy. The dogs run the home, I just live here! Dog hair and slobbery kisses … I wouldn’t want it any different. My fur babies are happy and very generous to other animals. We have fun here. So bring your dog over, let them jump on the couch, and play with my pups! I work part time, but have a very flexible schedule. I have two boys at home that would give your pups all the love they need. I have a small fenced in yard for your pups. We enjoy talking walks, and playing fetch. My fur babies are the sweetest things and will get along with your pups!
“Rosemary was great! She sent me pictures of my cat each time and let me know how she was doing while I was away. I hadn’t used Rover before but it’s so great. I’ll definitely book with Rosemary if she’s available next time I’m out of town! Thank you!!”

Cindy was excellent to work with. She communicated clearly throughout and took great care of my dogs. She was consistently responsive and reliable with her visits, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a dependable dog sitter.

Kerry was very patient and understanding of our reactive dog while watching our cat as well, and she did a great job with him. Communication and punctuality were excellent and she was receptive to any feedback or suggestions about the dog. She even committed to an additional meet and greet to help make him more comfortable for the pet sitting.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
