“Jessika is so great with Beau! He's always entertained, loved and spoiled with her. She gives him little massages which puts him right to sleep! Definitely would recommend her for your pet needs.”

“Rylee has been such a blessing to help with my new rescue dog, Holden. He is happy to walk or play with Rylee. She is helping Holden learn more manners while walking. Rylee is prompt, sweet and really has a passion for helping animals. We feel grateful for her checking in on Holden while I work a 10 hour shift.”

“What a beautiful soul… so sweet, kind, conscientious and just really good with animals! Sydney did such a wonderful job! We would definitely recommend and will definitely use her for future dog sitting opportunities.”

“Ashley did an amazing job caring for our cat, Orchid. She was friendly, reliable and our cat loved her. We could tell that Orchid felt safe and we had peace of mind that she was getting great care. Would absolutely recommend Ashely!”

About: I am currently a veterinary assistant and have 8 years experience along with also having my own animals since I was little. I am experienced with special needs pets, puppies, seniors, and I do also have a bearded dragon so I am open to dragon care. I have no doubt that I would be your pets next best friend! I currently work full time but My schedule allows me to be there for mornings, lunchtime breaks, in the evenings starting at 6:30 and of course throughout the night. I am off one day a week, most weekends, and with me getting off at 6:30 I will have plenty of time to play with and love on your fur-baby. I have a fenced in yard so dogs can safely play in a secured space. I do take the precaution's of letting your fur-baby safely meet my own 3 dogs through a baby gate just to get to know each other before the play begins. I will treat your fur-baby as if they were my own. I do require Vaccine information for pets boarding in my home to ensure the safety of my own 3 dogs.
About: I have about 5 years of experience caring for dogs and cats professionally. I also have some experience caring for guinea pigs, rabbits, and chinchillas. I have worked at doggie daycare facilities/vet clinics, grooming salons, and an animal shelter. I have experience cleaning kennels, walking dogs, administering medications, and providing daily care for the animals. I have been told that I am especially good with dogs that are really shy and scared. I currently work part time in the morning around 8-10 and get off around 4-7. I am available to provide pet care before and after work. While caring for your pets, their health and happiness is my priority. It is important to me to make sure they are well taken care of. It is rewarding for me to become acquainted with them like they are my own. I like to play with them and spend as much time with them as needed.

About: I socialized and walked shelter dogs for 5 years, fostered kittens for 3 years, and fostered squirrels for 2 years. From childhood, I was an animal rescuer, domestic and wildlife. I’ve had my dog 9 years and have had many wonderful cats, a rabbit and a bearded dragon. I offer care for any animal species. I have a very flexible schedule with most hours available. I can visit up to 3 times per day, and most likely stay as long as you’d like. I can also do up to 3 walks per day also. I can probably arrange to keep your dog-walking and pet-feeding schedules. I closely follow your directions, and let shy and fearful animals choose when to interact. I clean any messes asap, ensure clean water is available, and give your pet as much attention (play, pets, talking, walking, love) as they want for the time we schedule. At my home, pets may roam inside where they desire. Outside, dogs will be leashed. I can separate your and my dog if helpful. My gentle dog isn’t interested in cats. He has peacefully shared me and our home with 4 cats, 3 dogs, and and a bearded dragon.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was 10, everything from puppies full of energy to sweet senior pets needing a little extra TLC. My friends, neighbors, and family have always trusted me to walk, feed, and look after their pets like they’re my own. I’m calm, responsible, and I genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether you need someone for a quick drop-in or overnight house sitting, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and totally at ease. Pet care fits into my routine naturally because it genuinely is something I enjoy and value. I’m available weekends! Whether it’s house sitting, drop-ins, or walks, I always make space during the weekend to give your pet consistent love, attention, and care. When I’m caring for pets in your home, I follow all your instructions carefully and keep your pet’s comfort, safety, and routine a top priority. I take cleanliness and respect for your space seriously, and I’m always mindful of your pet’s unique needs, whether it’s extra snuggles, medications, or quiet time.
“Katie did an excellent job taking care of Tomás. She was responsible, attentive, and caring. She kept me updated and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and trust her again in the future.” 🐱”
“Scott was great! He gave my 2 older dogs their oral meds nightly, fed, watered and let them out. They have separation anxiety (or maybe that's me). I was sent daily pictures each time he stopped by and they seemed fine and happy. I would recommend him and have him keep my babies anytime. I've never left them with a sitter! Thank you again Scott.”

About: I love all animals! I have been pet-sitting since I was in elementary school. I currently have two tuxedo cats, one of which has to be given medicine twice a day, so I am comfortable with medication administration. I recently graduated from Physician Associate School and I am waiting for the credentialing process to be completed before starting my job! So i have plenty of time to take care of your animals! I care for every pet as if they were my own while also respecting each client’s home, routines, and instructions. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, receive any approved medications, get appropriate exercise and potty breaks, and have plenty of attention and companionship. I also keep their environment clean by tidying food areas, cleaning up accidents, and maintaining litter boxes or other pet spaces as needed.
“Abigail was wonderful. She took great care of my senior dog, Scruffy, and sent daily updates on how he was doing and the cutest pictures. If she is available the next time I go on vacation, she will be my go-to sitter!! Thank you so much Abigail!”
About: I have years of first hand experience taking care of dogs. I have two labs of my own, Remington (12 year old charcoal) and Gunner (3 year old yellow). Pet care is already a natural part of my routine. As the owner of two labs, my days already include feedings, walks, tummy rubs and companionship. With my background in Law Enforcement, you will have reliability, dependability, observation, safety consciousness and attention to detail, when it comes to your loved pets.
“Kerry was very patient and understanding of our reactive dog while watching our cat as well, and she did a great job with him. Communication and punctuality were excellent and she was receptive to any feedback or suggestions about the dog. She even committed to an additional meet and greet to help make him more comfortable for the pet sitting.”

“We went away for two nights; our 3rd time using Rover. Billie was responsible and followed all instructions. We appreciated having someone reliable dropping in on the pups. We will continue to book with Billie.”

About: I've shared my life with animals for over 30 years, including dogs, cats, horses, fish, reptiles, and even spiders. I understand that every pet has its own personality and routine, and I take the time to earn their trust. Whether it's a walk, a drop-in visit, feeding, playtime, or simply keeping them company while you're away, I'll care for your pet with patience, reliability, and respect. I'll also send updates and photos so you can relax knowing they're in good hands. I work part time and I'm a full time dad so there's plenty of time and care to give. Transportation isn't a problem either if needed. I've had the same 2 sibling dogs and cat for many years and just lost 1 dog and cat to age, which is sad but they had great lives and very loved. Now find myself with more time and space to share.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alpine Hills
Cindy was excellent to work with. She communicated clearly throughout and took great care of my dogs. She was consistently responsive and reliable with her visits, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a dependable dog sitter.

I’m so relieved I booked Kiera to check-in on our kitties! She was willing to meet for the first time before we left for our vacation. She sent photos and notes after each check-in. One of the automatic feeders became jammed, and she was able to unclog it. She fed them, changed the litter boxes, and checked for accidents. She’s lovely, and I would book her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
