“Cate was everything a pet owner could want. She was responsible, respectful and responsive. A delightful experience from our initial "getting to know you and your pet" visit to her daily check in communications. We hardily recommend her and will engage her with our next trip out of town.”

“My older cat doesn't do people and Ashley actually saw her a couple times when she stopped in - that's huge! She went above and beyond by also taking care of my plants as well as my cats. :) She's a keeper.”

“Being a single dog mom, & mom - sometimes it can be stressful to have help or find good help! I had a very last minute need for my pup, who Ashley had never met. She was willing to complete the job, and did well! I’m so thankful, she relieved my stress so I could enjoy time with my son. Thank you!!”

“Sharon was fantastic!! We are new to the area and needing to find someone to watch our furbabes while we were away. She answered all of my many questions and was so patient and kind. Our dogs loved her and were so spoiled when we got home!! We couldn't be happier and will 100% use her again! Highly recommend!!”
“Justine was great with our dogs, visited them 3 times a day at varying hours. Flexible and we didn't have to worry about them when we were out of town for a weekend. Pups were happy and well taken care, Justine was very prompt with the check in times and ensured the went out, ate and were left happy until the next visit. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for drop in visits!”

“Sarah was fantastic with my cat, Henry. This was a last-minute request when my usual sitter wasn’t available, and she stepped in seamlessly. She sent thoughtful updates and photos, took care of my mail, and made sure everything at home was in order. I felt completely at ease knowing Henry was in her care. I’d happily welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her to others looking for a reliable, caring sitter!”
“Rebekah did a great job of communicating with us and taking care of not only our elderly kitty but also our small tortoise. Our cat has medications and multiple needs so we appreciated her willingness to care for her.”

“Emily was wonderful! We were visiting from out of state and she visited our pups while we spent a day at Nantucket. She walked and fed the dogs and even played fetch in the yard. We appreciate her communication and reliability!”

“Zoe took great care of our dog! She really spent time with her and made sure she was not only fed and given potty breaks but also cuddled and cared for! She even brought in our packages and pulled up our trash can while we were gone.”

“Katlin was awesome! She stopped by and checked ok my cat. She was great at communicating with me. She sent me so many photos and videos! I will definitely be hiring her again ☺️”

About: I've connected with dogs since I was a child, as well as rehabilitated rescues and trained puppies. Every dog is special to me, and I have cared for senior and special needs pups. My most beloved dog was a black German Shepherd that I trained when I was 13. Even still, my mom shakes her head at how I'm especially drawn to big dogs that look "scary." I can't wait to meet your baby! Need extra support in your morning or evening? I am available with plenty of love to share. My weekdays allow me to spend time with your floofs in the morning and late afternoon/evening. Your pups will have plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection with me! Safety in your home and for your dog is my top priority. I will spend time getting to know your dog, and will make sure they get everything they need as you see fit: water, food, petting, snacks, play with toys, movement/walking, you name it! I will respect your home and leave everything as I find it.
“We have had Jennifer take care of our cats multiple times. She is conscientious, caring, and always keeps me informed of anything that is out of the ordinary with their routines.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Roanoke
Johana was absolutely amazing. She was wonderful with Jonah, our boxer, and even stayed with us into the early morning hours at the hospital to ensure our dog was going to be in caring hands. She was literally an angel. We very highly recommend her services, and can’t wait to see her again for our pet needs. She’s the best!

Keely was amazing! She took such great care of our 14 year diabetic cat, checking glucose levels and giving insulin. She also fed our two outdoor kitties. She sent daily photos and updates multiple times per day and followed all directions. She went well beyond what a typical pet sitter would do. We were able to enjoy our trip and relax knowing our pets were in great hands! She truly gave us a sense of security. I hope to use Keely again in the near future and highly recommend her if you need care for your furry family members!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
