“We have had Jennifer take care of our cats multiple times. She is conscientious, caring, and always keeps me informed of anything that is out of the ordinary with their routines.”

“Megan took great care of our pets while we were out of town she gave detailed and humorous updates about our gang. She went above and beyond and helped clean up an accident the dog had. She’s quick to respond to communications. Highly recommend her rover services!”

“Samantha was fantastic. We will surely use her over and over as long as she is available. And our kitty must miss her because she is meowing like crazy even with us home. Lol”

“Alyssa is absolutely AMAZING!! She took my booking at the very last minute. She’s a God send!! Isla was clearly happy to make a new friend. I appreciate Alyssa’s prompt availability and excellent friendly service. She was thorough and informative just all around awesome!! So grateful for her service!”

“Justine was great with our dogs, visited them 3 times a day at varying hours. Flexible and we didn't have to worry about them when we were out of town for a weekend. Pups were happy and well taken care, Justine was very prompt with the check in times and ensured the went out, ate and were left happy until the next visit. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for drop in visits!”

About: In addition to caring for my own dog and cat, I've also helped with my neighbor's dog, and my sister's dogs. I've got a fully fenced in back yard that's almost a full acre. And my german shepherd is incredibly sweet and gentle around other animals. I keep my weekends free so I can hang out with your pet! With school out my 15 year old daughter is home too and is eager to help love on some new pooches. My mother is also home most of the time working, and we are used to loud dog barks! In my home I have a German shepherd upstairs full time and a pit bull mix downstairs in the afternoon. Both are sweet and energetic and love new dogs! My cat does better with people, but she knows how to stay out of dodge when its needed. We do crate our dog when we leave the house but she free roams at night, alternating between the bed and the floor and the couch as she pleases. I would require your dog to be crate trained in case I need to leave the house during a boarding session. In your home, your rule is law. Whether its feeding your cat a carefully measured amount of wet food or keeping the litter box filled exactly half way, your standards are mine and I'm happy to go the extra mile. Likewise for a doggy drop-in to walk and feed. I always pick up after my pet on a walk so your neighbors have nothing to fear from me. And I'm used to reigning in a 90lb German shepherd who wants to make friends with every neighborhood stray cat so you can rest assured that I can keep hold of your dog on a walk.
“Katlin was awesome! She stopped by and checked ok my cat. She was great at communicating with me. She sent me so many photos and videos! I will definitely be hiring her again ☺️”

“Sarah is the best! Our cats go into a bit of depression when we leave them, but Sarah’s visits make a huge difference and they warmed up to her quicker than any of our past sitters. We rest easy knowing that Sarah will take the best possible care of them when we’re away.”
“Taylor did a great job watching our pups for around a week! 3 pups multiple visits per day and she was very accommodating to their needs and schedule. Pups were very well taken care of and Taylor went above and beyond to keep them company especially during a storm. We didn’t have to worry about them while we were out of town and it was very reassuring. Taylor was very professional and provided wonderful care for our pups! Frequent updates were provided and the pups were very happy! Would recommend her to anyone that needs their pups watched!”

About: I began volunteering at my local animal shelter at the age of 9 and have been caring for animals ever since. I have 20 years experience pet sitting for neighbors and I have my own 6 year old pitbull, Cleo, so I’m no stranger to energetic dogs. I’m a teacher, so my summers give me full flexibility to care for your animals! I love to walk dogs on local greenways and trails. I have a fenced in backyard where your dog can play. If they like to play with a buddy, my dog will be their best friend!
“Ashley did a fantastic job taking care of our 6 kitties. She remembered everything each day, including small specific pet’s needs and preferences. She even kept our birdbaths sprayed out, and full of fresh water, each day. We will definitely be calling on her again in the future!”

“Haley did an excellent job! I was a little nervous when we got home late that our senior dog would be anxiously pacing the house. He does not like changes in his routine. Alvin was happily sleeping in the kitchen when we got home! She apparently was able to keep him calm, give him his medications, and treat him just like we were here.”

About: I have experience sitting dogs and cats ages 6 months - 16 years, including overnight house sitting, walking and playing, and regular feedings! I have trained two of my own dogs from puppies, and am very patient with all animals. I am a full time student at James Madison University, so I have plenty of time to spend with your furry friends on weekdays and weekends when not in school! I have a flexible schedule at school and am more than able to drop in for quick potty breaks during the school day as well. If there is not fenced in yard, I keep dogs on a leash at all times to ensure safety. I never allow pets to be near human food unless authorized due to allergies and special accommodations. I spend lots of time giving your pets attention, love , and care while their best friends are away!
About: I have been a dog lover all my life! I have done drop in visits, walks, boarding, and house sitting for 10+ years and now I have two dogs at home (a giant puppy and 9 year old pitbull). I work from home most days, so I have a flexible schedule for drop ins or walks. I currently work from home most days, so I have a very flexible schedule. With notice, I can try to make most visits work in my schedule! I am a respectful and mindful person who is very clean, timely, and communicative. I know what it is like to be in need of help with a dog (and/or house), so I know how appreciated clear communication and mindful care mean when it comes to the ones we love!!

Megan is a pup whisperer and takes such good care of our little ones. She is so in touch with what they are feeling and goes the extra mile to make them feel loved and secure when we are not here to do it. They are in the best of hands - safe and well taken care of!! They all adore her and so do we!!

Taylor did a great job watching our pups for around a week! 3 pups multiple visits per day and she was very accommodating to their needs and schedule. Alyssa is quite honestly one of the BEST dog care professionals I have ever worked with. I chose to use the word professional because she does such an amazing job an is very communicative and makes me feel like my girl is well cared for. She also may be a professional photographer because she sends the best pup pics! She will be my go to dog care person going forward!

Julia is, hands down, an amazing dog sitter. She is so attentive and clearly loves dogs. She wasn’t deterred by my grumpy Great Dane’s barking and she made sure to cuddle my oldest dog while playing fetch & tug with my high energy shepherd. She was punctual, communicative, and sent photos. She even went out of her way to bring my 75 pound Chewy box delivery inside and washed mugs I had left in the sink before I went out of town. My dogs loved her. Can’t recommend her enough.
Autumn did a wonderful job caring for our pup, Gordy! It was great to receive the photos of their interactions each day, along with the detailed updates about his pees, poops, and other actions. Autumn is great at communication and is clearly trustworthy, while also being receptive to feedback and following through with specific requests. She was a wonderful asset for our sirtuation!

Erin and Matthew were great! They came just as scheduled, sent pictures each time and I could tell that Toby was happy for companionship and walks with them. There was even a little game of tug of war. Erin and Matthew were very dependable and good with communication. I definitely hope to book these two if I have another need! I certainly recommend them.
I've known Erica for YEARS. She's a truly kind, sweet person who genuinely loves animals 🩷. This was her first time watching my doggie, but hopefully won't be her last. Peanut loves Erica and her son so much! They took great care of her. I had one happy (and tired ☺️) baby when I got home!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
