Jessika was easily the best I’ve found in the app by far. I work long hours and require someone to stop by for a walk and food/water break. She was great with my puppy and even left a little surprise for her. My little girl seemed much less stressed after her visits and it completely removed the stress of worrying about her while working. I would absolutely recommend Jessika!

Eve has been beyond helpful with my two pups, really going above and beyond by sharing extra knowledge re: my puppy's recurring UTIs, sending me pictures of their poop when I requested due to my pup having loose stool, etc. She even added a walk at the last minute for me! Her knowledge, experience, and passion are obvious, and I highly recommend her!

Kim has walked my anxious, medically-complex rescue dog multiple times a week for the past year. She does an awesome job with him and is always cheerful, professional, prompt and accommodating. I am very picky about who takes care of him because of all his issues and I feel so much better having Kim there to take care of my little guy.

About: Aside from having a dog in my family my whole life, I've taken care of many dogs over the years. From my neighbor's golden retriever in high school (who I would sneak over to play with when she was out in the yard) to a few dogs in my neighborhood now, I love to get to know the dogs that I help take care of. I have experience dog walking and pet sitting, both in my home and visiting the dog's home. I'm also happy to provide baths and other special care as needed. As a stay at home dad, I have a flexible schedule and can provide a lot of attention for dogs visiting our home, as well as work in a daily walk if that's part of their normal routine. We have a large fenced yard that your dog can enjoy. We've had a variety of dogs stay with us either with or without crates and we can create separate areas with gates if necessary. If your dog stays with us, I have a flexible schedule to provide a lot of attention and with a family of 5 there's always someone around to play with, pet, or sit with your dog. Our friendly beagle is always happy to have a new friend to play with and he's more than willing to share our daily walks around the neighborhood with another friend.

Zoe was great! She was always on-schedule and was very patient with my weird little girl. She does things like hiding when it's time to go out and then pulling a LOT once you finally get her out. But Zoe never complained and always hung around with the baby for a few minutes of love and play after the walk. My schedule has changed and no longer need a dog-walker, but if I ever need one again, will definitely look for her!

About: Hi, I’m Rosemary! I love animals and have always grown up with birds, hamsters, cats, and dogs! I currently have one dog named Winston who is a sweet Maltese who loves other dogs. I’m very caring and attentive to animals and love making them as comfortable as possible. I grew up with a lot of pets and have always had a great love for them. I am flexible, especially on the weekends! I’m excited to be able to care for other’s pets and make them assured they are fine while their owners are away. I am definitely happy to care for cats as well as any other type of animal - no discrimination! Please let me know how I can help you and get started! I’m looking forward to caring for your furry friend. My schedule is pretty flexible and doesn't change much with another animal since I have my own dog who has his schedule down pretty well. I treat the animals as my own, they are allowed free range of my apartment if the owner wants. My dog is not crated during the day and likes to have a buddy to pal around with and play.

She went out of her way to let me know that my dog would not go for a walk. She notified me to let me know because she was worried that something might be wrong. Turns out that it was around the Fourth of July. My dog has simply been spooked by the fireworks. She was reassured, and happily offered to play with her in her backyard. My sweet girl was delighted with the alternative playtime. I appreciate her a quick communication and concern for my darling.

About: I have taken care of dogs ever since I could remember. This beginning with family members or neighbors, and eventually turning into one of my favorite hobbies, voulenteering for local animal shelters. I have experience with large dogs and small dogs, and with my time spent volunteering and also with my families own rescue animals, I believe I am a great fit for any dog. My family has a hard time leaving home to travel due to our rescues being not only very bonded to their owner, but perculiar on who they will spend time with. I hope to provide all families a sense of reassurance when needing any extra help! I graduated College in May '25 and am now in the waiting period of hearing back from Law Schools. My schedule is completely open all hours and all days of the week. Depending on the environment provided, I am confident in my ability to walk a dog of any size or just allow them to play in the comfort of their own backyard. Every dog is different and I am able to adjust however they are needing me to.

About: I’ve been taking care of my own dogs for 15+ years, along with a variety of exotic animals including birds, snakes, rats, fish and many more. I have been walking and feeding and watching dogs, cats, horses and farm animals for 10 years. I love animals, I always have and while I work full time, I self schedule and can be flexible. I don’t typically travel for holidays so I am around locally on most holidays, and can fit your beloved pet into my schedule so you can feel at ease while you are away from them. I can do whatever you need me to do in your house. I have lots of experience with puppies and elderly dogs (and those in between), cats and kittens, and lots of exotic animals. I am good at following directions and can accommodate whatever you need in your space. I also have lots of experience tiring out super energetic pups on long hikes or walks if you need! I love the outdoors and having dogs with me just makes it better! I look forward to meeting you and your precious pets! I work Monday-Wednesdays in Roanoke and my weekends are variable- I try to keep my calendar up to date. If I have events on the weekends (I’m a musician) they are typically local, and I will block out my calendar for tours. I have flexible scheduling during the day in Roanoke, and can work around your schedule even if you’re not in Roanoke. My work is accommodating and partially work from home. I like to provide my clients with updates on their pets while they are away with pictures and descriptions of anything out of the ordinary they may need to know about, and also just cute shenanigans your critters are up to each day. If you have any questions always feel free to message me with specifics and I will do my best to accommodate. Whether I am spending the night, or stopping by your home, I will treat your space and pets with respect and do my very best to communicate openly with you!

My dog came back happy and got a much longer walk than he normally does with me. She’s fast! She also brought a reflective vest for the dog and a light up collar. I felt my dog was safe with her. I love that she thought of everything.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
