About: I worked at a vet clinic for about two years, helping with restraint for exams and diagnostics. I took care of the boarding pets and administered medications. Additionally, I did about a year of clinical rotations working with animals. All this, not including my own pet experience with dogs, cats, hamsters, and a ferret. About: I’ve always been the person who stops to pet every dog or cat I see around the neighborhood, so getting to spend more time with animals is pretty much my idea of a good day. 🐾 I have 10+ years of experience caring for dogs and cats, including working as a Kennel Attendant at VCA Rock Creek Hospital, walking dogs for a local dog-walking company, and caring for my own senior dog from the Humane Society, Mr Benny. After Benny passed away about a year ago, I still had so much love to give to animals! So I started volunteering with Animal Aid, where I help care for dogs and cats in need of homes. I currently work a typical full-time schedule, so my availability is primarily on weekends in the afternoons and evenings. I think pets are usually happiest staying in their own space, and I’m happy to come to them! “Alina was so great! At the last minute my husband and I realized that we wouldn’t have cell service while we were camping when Alina would be taking care of our cats. Since this was the first time Alina was sitting for us AND it was in our new home where we weren’t completely sure how easy it would be for a new person to navigate it (or how the cats would do with us gone for the first time), we were worried about not being available for Alina to contact and update us. We asked if she could communicate with my mom instead since we have a satellite communicator with my mom and she could relay messages to us. Despite all those complications (including our cat Romeo needing oral medication twice a day), everything went really well. Shannon takes such wonderful care of Scarlett and Savannah! And spoils them. Savannah is such a scaredy cat but not with Shannon taking care of her. She comes out from under the bed - particularly when Scarlett gets treats for getting medicine rubbed into her ear. We never worry about the girls when we have Shannon watching after them. We highly recommend Shannon!
Haley really saved the day with my last minute request! She did an awesome job with my 2 pups. She came on time, stayed the entire time requested, was flexible when timing modifications were necessary and followed all my instructions.
