“Erika is amazing! We have her check in on our doggies multiple times a week and she is always super patient with them. They can be a little crazy at times and she never minds it! My favorite part is reading their rover report cards when she leaves because they are always so detailed and funny!! Thank you Erika!”

“We just moved to the neighborhood, and are so excited to have found Vai and Adam to hang out with our dogs and kitty while we are on day trips and vacations. We feel like our fur babes are in great hands, and can’t wait to use them more.”
“Cypress was great with our cat! She checked on everything during the visit and sent us photos and updates which gave us peace of mind while we were away. Our cat seemed comfortable with her and we really appreciated how reliable she was. We would definitely book with Cypress again!”

About: I am experienced at caring for small to medium sized dogs, and have experience walking large dogs. I love to play, cuddle dogs, and take them on long walks. I volunteered for a few months at the shelter cleaning cages and taking small dogs out to walk and play. My schedule is very flexible at the moment, allowing me to spend as much time with your pet as needed! I am adaptable and can adjust to your pet's specific needs. I am able to travel or stay at your home to watch your pets. I am serious about safety and keeping doors locked at all times. I like to keep the home clean, especially for your return.

About: A family of 4. My husband and I have both always had pets in our homes since we were children. Now our littles are the same way. We are huge pet lovers around here! We have a huge love for dogs and believe they should be treated just like you would treat anyone else in your family! I am a self employed hairstylist so my schedule is very flexible. I currently only work a couple days a week so I am able to be home with my kids and our dog! I have a decent sized fenced backyard and a dog park 5 houses away from our home! Also parks with lots of trails. We want your dog to feel safe and comfortable so we are okay with dogs who like to be crated and dog who don’t. Whatever makes your baby feel comfortable is what we will do! We believe pets should get to have vacations too. We will provide them with all the love and fun we can!🖤
“Our pets love Kelly! We will continue to book with her whenever we need to leave town. She takes our dog on nice long walks and our cat loves to cuddle and play with her when she visits.”

About: Although I am new to rover, I am an experienced lifelong pet owner and excited to offer my services as a dog sitter. Your dog will not only receive care but also love and affection. My playful approach allows me to connect with dogs on a deeper level creating trust and ensuring they feel secure and loved while you are away. I want your pet to feel happy, comfortable and keep to their usual routine. I'll keep you up to date with photos and quick notes to ensure your peace of mind. I follow the instructions you provide so your furry friend stays in routine and is comfortable. I'm mindful of potty breaks and each dogs personality and energy level so I can adjust our activities to best suit their needs. I have a very large completely fenced yard to play in and am happy to come to your home if that is where your pet happiest.
“A last minute request after our original sitter fell through, Allison made time for a meet and greet and made extra effort during the drop in to ensure our kitty was safe and taken care of. Great communication during the visit. Will definitely use services again for future trips!”

“Haley was great and sent plenty of pictures and detailed updates! She not only took care of my cat, but she also played with him and gave him lots of love and attention!”

“Allison was a fantastic sitter for our pets. I needed someone fairly last minute, at Christmas, and Allison accepted the job. She was communicative and accommodating from the very beginning. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She is sweet, thoughtful and responsible. Please don’t hesitate to request Allison as your next pet sitter. You will absolutely not be disappointed.”
About: I moved back to Aloha in 2023 after 6 years in Central Oregon, where I first got involved with dog rescue and animal care. If there’s one thing people know about me, it’s that I’m a huge animal person. I don’t just "watch" pets; I really enjoy getting to know their personalities and making sure they feel safe while their owners are away. I have a lot of experience with the "tricky" stuff—dogs with high anxiety, medical needs, or those that just need a little extra patience. I'm used to following strict feeding schedules and making sure meds are taken on time, so you don't have to worry about their routine being disturbed. In addition to dogs and cats, I also have exposure to horses, pigs, goats, and chickens. I’m reliable, I’m a great communicator, and I’ll treat your animals like they’re my own. My goal is always to make sure they’re happy and you’re stress-free while you're gone! **References Available** Ps — Tell your dog I said, "Hi!" I currently focus my time on providing care for people's pets and I have a fairly open schedule to accommodate client needs. I spend my days outside and working with dogs, cats, chickens - you name it! I love what I do and look forward to caring for your pets too! In your home or mine, I respect the rules and routines you have in place for your pets. The dogs in my home will be kept separate from client dogs unless otherwise noted by the owner. Given the schedule I have for work and my personal dogs, your routine may vary slightly in my home. I have space for guest dogs so I can keep on a crate rotation to be able to meet and respect all the dogs' needs.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hazeldale
Erika was very attuned to both of our cats and made sure to support their personalities in a way that helped them be very comfortable and playful. We really appreciated Erika staying to play with the cats and making sure all their needs were met while we were away for our wedding. The litter robot was full and stopped cycling the very last day but she had cleaned all the litter boxes and made sure the boy cycled so there wasn’t anything to clean. I would 100% recommend Erika to any cat families!!! She goes above and beyond.

During our two week vacation, Christy provided wonderful care of our two pups, a border collie mix and golden retriever. She took care of their feeding, meds, play and cuddle time and daily walks. She is very reliable. We are super happy with the care she provided. Thank you!!

I’ve never used Rover before and was really nervous about it. Adam took AMAZING care of our cats, he immediately rectified a mistake I made ( I actually trusted our cats not to jump on the counter to get their snacks (boy was I wrong) but Adam contacted me about the situation.We ran into to some car trouble and had to extend our service and he quickly accepted. The daily updates were great. We will definitely be use him again.

Ally was wonderful and took such good care of our cranky, elderly, diabetic cat. She requires insulin injections and is wary of strangers, but warmed up to Ally within a couple days. The updates were so helpful, we didn't have to worry at all while we were out of town. Thank you so much Ally!

Maria has been a joy to work with and we are so happy we’ve found her. She is always on time, very kind and friendly, and goes above and beyond for us. Our two pups love her and can’t wait to see her when she comes. Maria will run around and play with them in the yard, or let them chase the water to get their energy out. She helps tidy up the area our pups are staying in and she even helps train our girls. She gives us pace and mind when we’re not home and we can’t thank her enough for everything that she does. Maria is our go to for all dog care moving forward. You’d be lucky to have her.

Tiffany is amazing with my girls. Her upbeat energy and firm boundaries provide such peace of mind for me. Tiffany comes to let my girls out while I work at night and receiving photos and videos are a highlight for me, gives me peace of mind while I am working. She is such a caring person and I really feel she is looking after my girls.

This was my second time using Sydney as my cat sitter, and she was absolutely wonderful. My cats adore her so much. Every time she comes in, they go to greet her, flop over for belly rubs, and rub their faces against her asking for attention. It makes me so happy to see how comfortable and loving they are with her. I highly recommend her to anyone. She is truly an amazing cat sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
