“Alexis did an excellent job house sitting for our Golden Retriever! Sent lots of pictures of our pup during our trip, excellent communicator and really cares for animals. Would highly recommend!”

“Cora took such good care of my dog while I was away for the weekend. She was very responsive and good at communicating. She kept my home spotless, I would definitely recommend!”

“Alicia was wonderful with our dog. Alicia followed all of our instructions, stayed in communication, and we would highly recommend Alicia. Thank you very much, Alicia 💕”

“Alyssa took great care of Leia and our home! She kept in touch regularly and sent photos of Leia throughout the day. Would recommend her to anyone who needs a sitter!”

“Absolutely amazing! Tiffany and her family are the perfect house sitters. We got loads of pictures of them with our dog Maggie and our Cat Nova. We were gone for 6 days and worried for none of them. The house was just as clean as we left it and our animals were very happy. She was prepared and did a wonderful job. Would highly recommend to anyone needing house sitting, pet sitting or walking services. Will be using in the future.”

“We could not have had a better sitter than Kelsea! It was very clear right at the get-go at our meet-and-greet that she was exceedingly competent at dog care thanks to her extensive history in dog rescue. She understood and followed all our instructions/requests with ease, such as with their diet since they needed to avoid gaining weight. She then went the extra mile by being extremely attentive to their eating habits, asking permission to alter meals so that they were eating better, which we really appreciated! Her attention to detail was impeccable. She also introduced new toys/treats for mental stimulation without causing them to gain weight (: Finally, she showed through plenty of pictures and updates how much love and attention the animals were getting! They looked so calm and happy when I returned home. If you want peace of mind that your animals are in the hands of someone who will love on them, Kelsea is your girl! Than you, Kelsea!”

“Adam & Vaitiary are the absolute BEST! We feel so comfortable leaving our dogs with them! They treat them like the princesses and are so in tune to their needs! Highly recommend!”

“Freya was amazing, even and despite my pets being little $hit$ during her stay. She took great care of them and they were quite happy when I returned. Will definitely have her back!”

“Monica was fantastic house sitting for our dog and cat. She showed up for our intro visit having already read our instructions and it was obvious from the beginning that she would interact great with our pets, especially our sometimes scared dog. Throughout the visit she gave us great updates, pictures and videos that reinforced how comfortable our pets were with her. We highly recommend Monica and will absolutely use her again in the future.”

“Christina was great! We have a hard time leaving our pups and this trip just needed to focus on traveling with our infant. Christina was prompt and accommodating to meet us in advance and then took great care of our home and animals while we were away. They were well looked after and she left our home tidy.”

“She did a fantastic job caring for our pups while we were away for a long weekend. She sent us lots of pictures of the dogs enjoying their day and was very communicative through the whole process. Misela has a great energy when you meet her, you can tell she really cares for the animals and will give them all the attention and affection.”

“We are so grateful to have Donita sit with our ol' man of a dog. This last stay, he decided to chase a rabbit in our backyard and Donita was beyond amazing! She took him to the vet, gave medication, communicated with us every step, AND actually slept with him downstairs to help his back heal. The vet even when out of their way to tell me what an amazing dog sitter she was, saying she was more caring and knowledgeable than any dog sitter they have seen. We still came home to clean sheets and a cared for house!”

“Wendi was great with our two dogs and one cat! She updated us regularly, was able to give one of them medications without any issues, and by her photo updates I could tell they were all so happy and comfortable with her. Would definitely have her pet sit again and couldn’t recommend her more!”

“Rachel was the best! We were so glad she was available to help us out rather last minute. She was very loving and responsible with taking care of our old man who has some health issues. She updated us daily, which we very much appreciated. She helped our dog with his anxiety when neighbors set off firecrackers. She went above and beyond and even watered my yard, flowers and garden on a very hot weekend. House was very clean and tidy when we got home too. Made coming home so much nicer. Can’t praise or thank her enough♥️”

“Alex took great care of Myra and Clifford this past weekend! They kept us updated with regular check-ins, sent lots of photos, and followed all of our care instructions. I was especially nervous because Clifford can be reactive around other dogs, but Alex handled everything so well and gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear our pups were in great hands, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend!”

“Bri took care of our 4 pets with ease and care. She was super communicative throughout the stay and was an absolute dream to work with. Highly recommend!”

“Excellent Pet Care!! We are lucky to have found Allyson. She was stellar and we will be hiring her as much as possible. She was very easy to communicate with, and our two dogs loved her. She went above and beyond as we came home later than originally stated. Huge asset to find her! Highest Recommendation!”

About: I've been taking care of a few close friends dogs while they work since November 2025 and I have personally had my own canine familiars and family since 2010. I love spending time with all my dogs, going for walks, playing in the yards and parks when weather permits and most of all, giving them all the attention, lots of snuggling, cuddling and love. I don't do any dog training but am well experienced in how to handle dogs in different environments and situations. I am also a very clean and tidy individual who is willing to walk your dogs daily, clean up poop in your backyard (if you have one) and you can be assured I will keep your house spotless and clean as well. In past jobs, I have watered plants, gardens, lawns and made sure trash was taken out to the curbs on pick up days for no added charge. As for me and my personal life, I am a part time private mentor for individuals seeking change, men in recovery, men that are homeless and men that suffer mental health disorders. I've worked in several recovery homes for non-profits as an onsite house manager where my dog Angelo, at the time, was an integral part of many of the clients and the population we served in the program houses daily life, enrichment activities and mental health journeys. After loosing my beloved Angelo in January 2025 to lymphoma, I felt a new calling in my heart to help others with their dogs needs, give them peace of mind and trust when they are away for work, self care days or vacation. I look forward to meeting you and your fur family members soon! I have plenty of time to spend with any dogs I'm sitting for or around through the month and week. I am totally open in my schedule as I do not work a regular 9-5 job life. I try to stick to any routine that the clients request based on established routines with each dog and their person(s). I personally like to get up and go for morning, mid-day and evening walks with all my dogs I'm around if they prefer being active (not very many say no, lol). If they are more of a couch potato or have an indoor personality, I tailor our routine to activities and attention within the house. I always provide space upon meeting new dogs to let them move and get comfortable at their pace. I am a very quiet and passive fella that provides a positive safe space at all times to the best of my ability daily, its just my nature! So, its always a "win win" to me! I have yet to have any of the dogs I've been around not warm up to me.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hazeldale
Five stars doesn’t feel like enough for Mackenzie! We couldn’t have asked for a better person to take care of our dogs while we were away. We have a full house with four dogs, each with their own personalities, quirks, routines, and needs, and she picked up on who they were SO quickly. She spent tons of time actually engaging with them—playing outside, throwing their balls, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. We came home to four very happy, very well-cared-for, and appropriately worn-out dogs, which is about the best review they could give. 😂 Her communication was also fantastic. She sent us tons of pictures and videos throughout our trip, and it was incredibly reassuring to be able to see that everyone was happy and comfortable. I especially loved how quickly she started noticing and sharing the little things that make each of our dogs them. We felt completely at ease having Mackenzie in our home and caring for our crew, and we would absolutely trust her with them again. We’re so grateful we found her and would recommend her without hesitation!

Layla looked after our three pups for a couple weeks and did amazing. Our trip was short notice, required international travel including a 9 hour time difference, and was during highly stressful times. She managed through smoke skies that forced indoor activities for days on end (aside from quick potty trips outside). Our dogs are used to their routines, which includes prepared meal toppers for their dinners, certain herb administration, even using fridge filtered water to fill their water bowls. Additionally, we have a large yard and home both of which are filled with plants. She rose to the challenge with watering some of our non-irrigated plants outside during the record heat waves, kept our hummingbird feeder washed and filled, and gave the dogs the normalcy that they can not get in any boarding arrangement. Her daily proof of life photos were humorously consistent (we laughed over the daily butt pics). She asked questions and kept true to rover interface. Lastly, our travel back home was interrupted with a cancellation on our domestic flight. We had a rough night of scrambling and managed to make it home a day later. I was extremely grateful she was willing to stay on the extra day. She collected our mail, brushed the pups, and even added enrichment games. When we came home, our pups were well adjusted, happy and clearly were in good hands the entire time we were away. This peace of mind is not easily gained on either party's side. I am grateful she paid so much attention to detail, came prepared to our initial meeting with questions (she even had pre-printed questionnaire forms and a clipboard). For anyone reading this, and on the fence about whether to reach out for a possible booking with her, I highly recommend that you do it. She takes her responsibility seriously, leaves the house in impressive condition (she washed her used linens, house was tidy, dishes were washed, dogs were content). We know we have additional travel on the horizon and plan to reach out to her. Many thanks for everything, Layla!

This was our second time booking with Kelsea for a 10-day sit, and she did amazing again! She pulled all the stops taking care of our dog who had a minor illness, including making a sweet potato, carrot, and peanut mash for he and his sister. She sent plenty of photos of them cuddling with her, so there was no doubt that they were ok without us there! We came back to a perfect house, too. Thank you, Kelsea!!!

Kathleen was great. We needed a last minute sitter a week before we were leaving on a trip. Kathleen came through. Our dog was well cared for, we received pictures and updates throughout our trip. Our house was as clean as we left it. She was even willing to take our dog to doggie daycare while we were gone for her day of play. We are were very happy with her service.
Jenn was such a wonderful person to sit with our kittos and give them the best care while we were gone. She made them the cutest little box house for them to play in and sent tons of photos throughout our trip. She was an excellent communicator and left our house is fantastic condition.

Suzanne was great with JJ. She gave him careful attention and managed his medication with care and consistency. (He can be resistant to taking his pills but Suzanne managed without difficulty.) she sent us regular updates and pictures which we love. We will definitely have her house/puppy sit for again.

I cannot recommend Tanja enough! We needed someone to watch our two cats and dog for 4 days, and she went above and beyond.Tanja followed all our care instructions, kept the house immaculate, and sent photo updates every day. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our animals were in such capable and loving hands. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hazeldale walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hazeldale maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hazeldale choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hazeldale. On Rover:

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
