Angyl is awesome!! We watched our puppy learn new behaviors right before our eyes. This is the first time in 6 months that we have hope our pup will learn how to not drive us crazy and not destroy the house 😂 so grateful and can’t wait to book our next lesson.

The consult was thorough and extremely helpful. My dog had abuse in her past and needed help in building her confidence and strategies to do when feeling uncertain around people. Gave great feedback and tips that I can do to help my dog build that confidence and recognized how much we had accomplished in such a short time.

The consultation was a great help to me and my dog. My dog was anxious around new people and experiences and I needed help to teach her techniques to build confidence. Natalie was able to start training right away and provided recommendations to help in the future. Will use again for follow up appts to make sure we are improving appropriately.

About: By the time most people turn to me, I'm often their last hope. I love working on separation & isolation-related distress, fearful dogs, all cat issues, and give me all birds and exotics. I worked for many years as a veterinary assistant and behavior therapist in a board certified veterinary behaviorist clinic, so I've seen it all. And you don't have to have a "problem" pet for us to work together!

We just had our initial visit with Susana and it was a great start. She was patient, personable, and very kind with our two dogs. She seems very knowledgeable and took extra time to get to know us while identifying the specific behavior issues we need to address. We have more sessions scheduled and are happy with how things are going so far.

Our dog literally tap dances with excitement when he's meeting Cyrus! Seeing how they greet each other with a big hug says it all. It doesn't matter whether they are going out on adventures, having new socialization experiences, or staying together for a couple of weeks; we trust Cyrus to take brilliant care of our dog because he is always kind, empathetic, engaging, and patient with him.

Brittney has ben monumental in our dog Scout's training progress. Brittney has been beyond patient with her, providing consistency and positivity, both of which have proven to be critical for Scout's learning. (Even when we struggled to do the same.) It feels really good to know that we have someone that we trust who will love and support Scout through all her ups and downs. She has proven to be a very tricky dog to work with for a variety of reasons, but Brittney has never given up and it shows. She is great and we definitely recommend 100%!

We worked with Dallas to help our dog Stella adjust to our new baby’s arrival. At the risk of sounding dramatic, he completely changed our lives and the way we think about how Stella experiences the world. The tips and tricks he taught us over several sessions are still useful to this day and have helped her to have an overall better quality of life. We are so grateful to Dallas and have recommended him to several friends! We will be calling on him again whenever we get another dog!

Dog Training FAQs

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Trainers listing on Rover must be credentialed dog trainers, commit to reward-based training methods, and pass a background check to offer dog training in Beaverton.

Reward-based training encourages dogs to offer desired behaviors by reinforcing the behavior with something the dog likes; treats, play, or toys. Reward-based training prioritizes using the least intrusive intervention; it promotes thinking rather than punishing mistakes.

When rewards are used, the likelihood the behavior is repeated increases. The positive connection to the reward results in making learning enjoyable, strengthens the human animal bond and over time leads to consistent desired behaviors.

Training can happen many places — your home, a park, a store, or anywhere else that you and your trainer decide is best for the training you are doing! Many trainers will recommend training in your home. This allows them to observe your dog in their natural environment so they can effectively assess and best help reach your training goals.

Trainers will often mention on their profile where they typically hold training sessions, but you can always contact a trainer to learn more!

If you’re searching for a dog trainer in Beaverton for the first time, visit the trainer’s profile and select the Contact button.

If you have an active request or have booked a service with a trainer before, learn more about how to do this in the Rover app or on your computer.

Rover makes it easy to find Beaverton dog trainers to provide loving care from their own home. The background-checked, 5-star trainers you can find on Rover will work with you and your dog to build new skills and address behaviors. Dog trainers can work on:

  • Puppy training, adult dog training, agility training, clicker training and advanced training.
  • Behaviors such as barking, leash manners, leash reactivity, house manners, jumping, fearful behavior, anxious behavior, separation distress, recall, biting, chewing, mouthiness, potty training and resource guarding.

Of course! Having a trainer that is the right fit for both you and your pup is an important step to reaching your training goals. We recommend reaching out to any trainer that interests you. Your initial request is not final until both you and the trainer decide you want to move forward with booking.

Also, trainers may offer or require consultations. Make sure to ask trainers so you can make the best decision for you and your pet.

Many trainers on Rover indicate experience in a wide range of behaviors, from puppy training to more advanced behaviors and training types.

Review a trainer’s profile to see if their experience aligns with your needs, and if you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact them to ensure they’re the right trainer for you and your pet.

We get it—sometimes plans change and you may need to cancel your dog training service. You can cancel an upcoming booking directly from the Rover app or your computer, in accordance with your trainer’s cancellation policy.

Note: If your dog trainer requested to cancel this booking, then they need to cancel from their account. Please contact them via Rover Messages.
