âJen is amazing. She took great care of our dogs. Calming one down when I balloon landed in the back yard! She followed our instructions to the letter and even brought in our trash/recycling containers without being asked. She communicates and sends updates and pics, which we REALLY appreciate! We can enjoy our trips knowing Jen is with them!!!â

âJustelle did a great job with the pups, they were both very happy when we got home and were sad to see her go! We have a German shepherd and a 1 year old mini Aussie, she was comfortable with both. She left the house clean and put away. We will definitely be booking Justelle again.â

âGeorgia was awesome caring for our three small dogs for four days on short notice. She quickly learned the pups' personalities and became their best friend. It was great knowing our house/dog sitter wasn't just a warm body keeping them fed, but was happy to be part of their daily routine. Her daily photos were creative and brought us joy while we were on vacation. I'll be eager to book Georgia again the next time we need a house/pet sitter!â

âLeeah was amazing with our dog Coco. Coco requires a lot of love, attention, and play and Leeah was so good at providing that for our girl. Leeah was communicative, very respectful of our home, and arguably left it cleaner than we left her with it! Thanks again!! We will have her back anytime đâ

âAutumn gave great care to our three geriatric ragdoll cats. Two of the cats require medication and they leave accidents. The house was spotless when we got home. We will definitely book her again. Thanks Autumn!â

About: Iâve been taking care of my dog buddy since I was 15, my cats since I was 14 and I used to take care of my neighbors dog, I use he/him pronouns. I pet sit for members of my family and people around the neighborhood, my hours are flexible Iâm able to meet requirements of any family or client. I would always make sure the animal Iâm taking care of is fed, hydrated and taken out for the bathroom or walks, Iâm fully backgrounded and have very good references.

âHighly recommend! Shalindra provided a week of in-home care for our two dogs, a guinea pig and a gecko. She was delightful to work with. The dogs took to her very quickly, and she was affectionately patient with their unique/opposite personalities. I especially appreciated her daily photo and video updates, and how careful she was to ask questions and provide details on anything happening at the house. I felt confident all was well cared-for, and was truly able to enjoy the time away because Shalindra had everything covered at home.â

Sofia was absolutely wonderful with my dog. She took care of everything with so much responsibility and kindness. Not only did she keep my dog happy and comfortable, she also went above and beyond by taking care of the garbage bins and coordinating the handâoff to my friend without any issues. I really appreciated her clear communication and the way she handled every detail smoothly. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing my dog was in such reliable hands. I would gladly have her help again.

We couldnât have asked for a better pet sitter! Heather did an exceptional job caring for our dog while we were away. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly treated him like their own. Our dog received great walks, plenty of care and attention, and we appreciated the detailed updates, notes, and pictures throughout the stay. Those thoughtful updates gave us complete peace of mind knowing he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. Itâs obvious that Heather genuinely loves animals and takes pride in providing excellent care. We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. We will definitely be using her again!

Ming bonded immediately with my nervous cat and not only loved on him and played with him daily, but even got him to lick up his hairball gel and sit for his toothbrushing routine. She did this for a month while also taking fabulous care of my saplings in the July heat. She went above and beyond with watering, especially since my lousy set-up meant that she had to lug 5-gallon buckets of water to pour them into my treebags. I would absolutely book Ming again! She has become Pomeloâs second mom đť

Sylvanna was wonderful with Obii! She was kind, friendly, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving him in her care. You can genuinely tell she loves animals by the way she interacted with him. She was patient, attentive, and treated Obii with so much care and affection. I also really appreciated the updates while I was away and when I got back! It gave me so much peace of mind. I would definitely book with Sylvanna again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy sitter

Fantastic and flexible dog walker, and overall pet sitter. Nika is easy to talk to and communicate with. Our pets loved her. She went above and beyond to take our dog to Marymoor Dog Park, one of his favorites for some fun. Also flexible - when our return flight was delayed a day, she was willing to pick up an extra day.

Teresa did a great job taking care of our 4 legged family member. She sent pictures, wrote about his day to us, and in a couple words - she cared. She cared about our dog-child as if he was her own, which gave us peace of mind. On our return, we found that she also took very good care of our home too.

Stacey stayed with Bodhi for 2 weeks while we were traveling. She was great with him - they immediately connected during the meet and greet (he can be shy with some people, but took to her right away). She sent pics and updates while we were traveling. Stacey was the perfect sitter for us and I cannot recommend her enough. Will definitely seek to use her services again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Lake Sammamish walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Lake Sammamish maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Lake Sammamish choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
