“We had a wonderful experience with Ana and would absolutely book with her again! She was fantastic with communication, sending daily updates and pictures that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Our dog happened to be going through one of her picky eating phases during our trip, and she went above and beyond to help. She tried different bowls, chopped up the turkey we had left as a topper and mixed it into her food, and was so patient and creative in trying to get her to eat. It was clear she genuinely cared about our dog’s well-being. She also took her on multiple walks each day and made sure she got plenty of attention and exercise. On top of that, she was incredibly accommodating with our drop-off and pick-up schedule, which made the entire experience stress-free. We couldn’t have asked for better care for our dog and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter!”

“Jhoanna was amazing with Luka. As soon as we dropped him off he quickly settled in and felt at home. Jhoanna texted us frequently with photos and updates so we were assured that he was doing great during our trip. She took him out on frequent walks and ensured that he had his meals as indicated. Will rebook in the future!”

“Great sitter, and treats my dog Widget like family! Extremely communicative, and has a sense of humor about my dog's quirks. Her big yard means my dog has plenty of space to romp around. Since I live in the city, it must feel like a vacation for him, too!”

“Nola and Damian were so great! This was our first time using Rover and we were a little hesitant about leaving Toki with someone new. However, they made us feel super comfortable and clearly took great care of her during our time away.”

“Chanel was responsive and responsible and seemed to really enjoy having our pup. She’s very sweet and sends updates and pictures everyday. Our pup seemed to really enjoy her stay and we’d book Chanel again!”

“Miley stayed with Aurora for 4 nights while I was away on a vacation. Her pup Madi and Miley became BFF’s. She sent regular updates and she was very prompt and quick responding to my texts. Miley is my daughter and I’m very nervous leaving her at someone’s place. But Aurora did a a great job taking care of Miley and treated her like her own pup. I would definitely like Miley to have her next vacation at her place. Adding to this their pup Madi is a wonderful dog very friendly.”

“Charlee had a great time with Lisa and other dogs. When we arrived Charlee immediately sensed she was kind and walked up to her wagging his tail. Lisa took Charlee on just a few days before our trip as another sitter fell through. I highly recommend Lisa!”

“Haowen took excellent care of Bandit. He sent frequent updates and when Bandit was reluctant to eat went out to get peanut butter to mix into his food. He also went to get a ball so Bandit could do his favorite activity of playing fetch. When it was time to get Bandit he was excited to see his mom and dad but then went back to Haowen to say goodbye, which is Bandit's way of saying thank you. Bandit gives a 5 PAWS rating and hopes he can visit again soon”

“Alex stayed with our Rottie in our house. He was great. Communication was excellent. Our home was in great shape. Alex was caring. He made sure Tilli was dried off in the garage after a walk. We appreciate his thoughtfulness and great care.”

“Jennifer is the best that could have happened to our puppy. She is incredibly caring, attentive and responsible. She was constantly in touch with us and sent photos. She treated everything the puppy needed with understanding and great attention. Highly recommend Jennifer for your dog.”

“Kyli and Scott were amazing! Our dog had so much love, attention, adventure, and care. He didn't want to leave! They took him to the beach, played with him with their giant bucket of toys, and sent lots of great pictures that are probably going to end up on his instagram. They were extremely responsive, and while our dog Kyle usually doesn't eat much when in a new environment, was actually eating his kibble more than at home! Would give more than 5 stars if I could.”

“I have a 9 year old dog named Kyah that I absolutely adore and she has never been away from the family overnight. I was very nervous about leaving her and wasn't sure how she (or I) would handle it. Luciana and her mother did such an amazing job and I cannot thank them enough! After the initial meet and greet, I scheduled a trial sleepover for 1 night right before the scheduled stay (5 nights) so that Kyah could get to know them, familiarize herself with the new surroundings, and to reinforce that I was coming back - that may have been more for my peace of mind. Luciana and her mother took such great care of Kyah. They took her for walks, adhered to her special diet and gave her medications as needed. They even took a bunch of pictures and sent them to me! There were 2 specific things that occurred and gave me ABSOLUTE COMFORT & CONFIDENCE that Kyah was well cared for. 1) When I brought Kyah over for the actual stay (after the initial trial sleepover), she noticed Luciana' mother sitting on the couch and she happily walked over and greeted her. 2) When I picked her up after being away for 6 days, she was really excited to see me AND as we were walking away to my car, Luciana's mother said goodbye to Kyah and she actually turned around, walked back over to her and said "goodbye". Both of those examples left significant impressions because my dog is pretty aloof and doesn't usually show affection to anyone other than her family. Luciana and her mother make a great team and I highly recommend them. I have already made arrangements for this summer!”

“Thank you for minding Theo in our absence! Great videos, excellent response time to my messages. Exceptionally knowledgeable about dog behavior! Lovely family, great back yard and lots of walks. Happy, tired guy. Thank you!”

“Mirellys was AMAZING!! Super sweet and so loving with my pup. Sent me so many updates and photos to help me feel more comfortable. Will use her over and over again if I can. So grateful for all of your help you truly are amazing! Tysm!!”

“Martha was the best sitter for our dog. This was his first time away from us and he did great thanks to the care and attention he got from Martha. Lots of walks and even a nail clipping made his stay a great experience!”

“Another visit with Renee! My Hank loves going to her house and spending time with her and her family. She’s so attentive to all of his needs- couldn’t ask for a better sitter for him!”

We’ve used Valeri multiple times now, and I truly can’t recommend her enough! Every time we leave our dog with her, we have complete peace of mind knowing she’s in such caring and capable hands. Our dog absolutely loves going there and feels right at home from the moment she arrives. She and Valeri's dog, Lexi, get along so well and have an endless amount of fun playing together. Valeri is fantastic with communication, sending daily updates and pictures that always make us smile while we’re away. During our most recent stay, our dog happened to be going through one of her picky eating phases. Valeri was incredibly patient and thoughtful, trying different approaches to encourage her to eat and making sure she was comfortable and well cared for. In addition to all the playtime with Lexi, Valeri took our dog on walks, gave her lots of attention, and was very accommodating with our drop-off and pick-up schedule. It’s such a relief to have found someone we trust completely. Our dog is always happy, well cared for, and genuinely excited to go back. We will definitely book with Valeri again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing dog sitter!

Paloma is absolutely fantastic, I wish I had found her sooner. I left my girl with her for a weekend so I could go away. Her home is perfect for any pet to live their best life. She was so attentive and caring. I was nervous about the fireworks scaring my girl and Paloma was careful to make sure she was as comfortable as possible which put this crazy dog moms heart at ease. Will definitely use her in the future.

This was my first time in the whole 14 years that I’ve left my dogs with a stranger. Gienna never felt like a stranger from the moment I met her. She immediately made me feel safe leaving my kids for an entire week. She sent me updates multiple times a day without prompting. I never had to worry what they were doing. She even finished off some antibiotics with one of my guys. They came home absolutely spoiled. I will absolutely use Gienna again in the future and I would 100% recommend her to anyone (except that means she fills up quickly-totally worth booking early!)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
