“Sky is a shy but sweet dog. When we came to pick him up we could see his attachment to Cheryl. I knew she too great care of him. He had the bonus of play time with her two dogs. She is very responsive.”

“Michelle has become my sweet boy Rocco’s home away from home. I can’t say enough good things about her and her family! Rocco LOVES going to Michelle’s to hang out while we are away. I remember thinking back to how nervous I was to leave him with somebody that wasn’t family, and now I am fortunate to say I don’t worry one bit. We have used Michelle so many times over the past few years and are so lucky to have found somebody so wonderful.”

“Elliot is an excellent caregiver to our dog Lainey. She has a good mix of fun activities and downtime during her stays. Elliot provides daily photo and video updates of Lainey that are sweet reminders of our girl. Can’t recommend Elliot enough!”

“Jhoanna took care of Olive like she was her own! I got tons of updates and quick responses that reassured me Olive was in the best hands possible. I’d use Jhoanna any time again in the future.”

“Mirellys took great care of my Bailey. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, and provided lots of updates and pictures. Bailey loved her time with Mirellys and I would absolutely recommend her to watch your dog and would have her watch bailey again in the future.”

“Another great stay with Lori. My dog had anxiety about staying at a sitter, but I could tell with all the pictures that he got more and more comfortable as time went on. I think he even slept on top of her and maybe even tried to sleep on her head. 5 stars for dealing with a nervous pup and making him feel comfortable.”

“Marian and her family took wonderful care of our dog, Tanner, during his boarding stay! They are a very nice family that clearly loves dogs. And her communication was great - always prompt.”

“Jasmine was wonderful with my dog, Kane. Shared pictures and videos daily how Kane was acclimating to his new environment. Will book for my next travel without a doubt. Thanks Jasmine and family!”

“Jennifer and her family were so wonderful. They provided a lovely and safe home for Walter while we were on vacation. Her dog Molly even taught our dog good manners. Highly recommended!!!”

“Lori did an amazing job taking care of my pup Yoshi. I received daily photos and videos and I could tell he was having the best time. It's so nice to know your pup is having fun while you are away.”

About: I am a dog lover that just suffered a bad breakup and my ex got the dog. So I figure this is a good way to get over the four-legged void where my pooch used to be, get some exercise and make a little extra cash. If your pup needs a walk, a bathroom break, or a place to stay and play while you’re away…I’m your guy. I am self employed and I have a lot of flexibility in my schedule …Ideally I would like to find some regular clients that need me regularly. I am single and live alone in a medium sized apartment. My building is pet friendly and has a dog park. I will care for your pet as if they’re my own, while respecting your wishes, to ensure a happy healthy pooch.

“Alex is wonderful with my elderly dog, Zoe. I appreciate the peace of mind knowing that he's taking great care of her and she's so happy on her own vacation with him. Thank you, Alex!”

“Jodi was absolutely incredible! She took such great care of our 2 girls. She has a wonderful backyard, beautiful home, and took our girls for a long walk/swim! She sent images, videos, and text updates! It was great picking up 2 very tired (but happy!) pups. We will definitely be using Jodi again and highly recommend her!”

About: I have always owned pets and cared for pets of family and friends. I adopted my dog in 2017 and worked hard with a trainer and have learned a lot about walking dogs and caring for dogs and am very cautious and confident walking dogs. I also have 3 senior dogs currently and am used to caring for seniors. I currently work part time and have two children. My job schedule is flexible and I often have gaps in my day and time to walk dogs. I can also do occasional overnights. I will respect and follow your safety reccomendations and needs for your dog. I am very diligent and organized and will be able to follow instructions and keep your dogs safe and happy!
“My dog is a big old baby requiring plenty of attention and TLC as well as timely walks and medications. He’s an old boy. He loved Liz and her place. Usually he has separation issues. Well he hardly noticed when we left and I’m pretty sure he was a little bit disappointed to come home. Great care for my dog.”
“Wonderful as always! Penny was so excited when we pulled up in front of Akhil’s house. She definitely remembered him and knew she was in for a great weekend! Got updates throughout her stay. Would fully recommend!”

“Svetlana took great care of my precious Chacha last minute for me and spoiled her :) she came home a happy happy pup! 5 stars - and we will definitely have Chacha spend the night with Svetlana again!”

“Jennifer is the best that could have happened to our puppy. She is incredibly caring, attentive and responsible. She was constantly in touch with us and sent photos. She treated everything the puppy needed with understanding and great attention. Highly recommend Jennifer for your dog.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Peabody
We used Sam to board our dog Mia for the first time recently, and she was absolutely amazing! We just adopted Mia two months ago (she’s a rescue from the south), so we were super nervous about leaving her for a week. At the dog hotel we used to use for our other pup, they literally charged us $4 per photo and we constantly had to beg them for updates. Sam was the exact opposite. Right from the meet-and-greet, she was so attentive and asked tons of questions to make sure she knew exactly how to give Mia the best care. While we were gone, she sent so many updates and pictures without us even having to ask, which gave us total peace of mind. She even handled Mia's allergy medication which was another concern of ours. Plus, her dog Poppy is the absolute cutest and friendliest pup ever! If want someone who will actually give you pup personal, hands-on love and attention, you need to book Sam.

This was my first time in the whole 14 years that I’ve left my dogs with a stranger. Gienna never felt like a stranger from the moment I met her. She immediately made me feel safe leaving my kids for an entire week. She sent me updates multiple times a day without prompting. I never had to worry what they were doing. She even finished off some antibiotics with one of my guys. They came home absolutely spoiled. I will absolutely use Gienna again in the future and I would 100% recommend her to anyone (except that means she fills up quickly-totally worth booking early!)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
