Our 8 year old boxer, Oliver, loved having Omar stay with him! He enjoyed the play time, the on-time meals (always a biggie for Oliver), the multi daily walks and of course the evening snuggles! Omar left the house in very nice order and his communication throughout his stay at our house along with great photos was fantastic! We would definitely recommend Omar for anyone looking for a responsible, orderly, kind, animal loving person to stay at their house and take great care of their pet!

Halla did SO amazing with my 2 crazy doodles and the house. She sent pictures everyday which put my mind at ease seeing how happy and chill they were, especially since this was the first time we didn’t leave them with a family member. I would absolutely recommend Halla with your fur babies and if we ever need someone again to watch our house and pups I would use her again!

About: I've had pets my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I treat every pet like they're my own and understand how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they're away. I've helped friends and family with their pets over the years, and I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Since I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and receive plenty of supervision, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Whether your pet is working on potty training, crate training, or following a specific routine, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while they’re in my care. I provide a safe, clean, calm, and smoke-free environment. While I don’t have a fenced yard, dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, and exercise based on their individual needs and energy levels. For privacy and safety reasons, I don’t offer home tours.

We went to Europe and had Charlotte stay in our home and even with the time difference Charlotte was very responsive and constantly sending photos and updates on our pup! Our dog Bear has some health issues and Charlotte was very mindful of this and very detail oriented. Charlotte also harvested our tomatoes while we were away and left our house looking nicer than how we left it. We had a great experience! If you are looking for someone you can trust to watch your pup, book with Charlotte!

About: I've had Cats all my life, and Dogs as long as I can remember! I worked my way up from Attendant to Supervisor at a local Veterinary Hospital I was at for 6 1/2 years. I had 15 Attendants working underneath me that I hired, scheduled and trained. I was in charge of Small and Large Breed boarding departments, Doggie Daycare, and cats as well. My duties consisted of Monitoring, Feeding, Medicating and exercising Boarding and Daycare Animals from Friendly to Aggressive and Puppies to Seniors. I now have an open schedule because I recently resigned from my 5 year Personal Care Assistant position caring for a human in hopes of putting myself through college by caring for Dogs, my passion! I do have 2 young boys so I’m only available for walks and drop-ins at this time while they are in school anywhere from about 9am through 2pm Mondays through Fridays while school is in session. I have a friendly 1 year old spayed female at home that I trained myself. She has a blast playing ball and going for our daily walks. I have the desire and the time to take care of your four legged besties! I love to exercise and get outside so I have the energy to keep up with your pet and tire them out. =)

About: I have limited professional experience in animal care but I have nearly a lifetime's worth of practical experience and pure love for all animals. Between having pets of my own and caring for others' fur-friends, I'm always the "DD" or "designated dog-duty" person. Since I've been able to walk to my neighbors houses or drive to friends and family members' homes I've often been relied on to check-in on, walk, feed, bathe, and care for their pets. Along with years of experience caring for pets in the home, I have volunteer experience bathing, blow-drying, and combing dogs of all ages and sizes. I've experience caring for dogs (including senior dogs), cats, puppies, kittens, turtles, hamsters, bearded dragons, and sugar gliders. Caring for others is something that comes naturally to me. I'm currently a graduate student aspiring to work in the mental health field with children and adolescents. However, as much as I love working with humans, I also love working with animals and pet-sitting/walking has become a side-gig that fills my cup and my wallet! I'm a quick-learner and willing to follow any special care instructions to accommodate your pet's needs. I'm currently a part-time graduate student so I have plently of time to walk and/or care for your furry friends! I have a lot of open availability and flexible scheduling during summer months so please reach out with any scheduling or timing questions. Safety is my top priority, for your pets, your home, and myself. I will carefully follow all care instructions, whether they're for routines inside the home, walks, medications, or any special needs. I'm attentive, observant, and adaptable to each pet's unique personality and always allow them to set the pace as we build trust and become comfortable with one another. I'm very patient with shy, fearful, or timid pets and can adapt to ensure introductions are low-stress and with your approval, can incorporate treats, toys, or gentle play to help them feel safe and confident. During walks, I keep dogs securely leashed at all times and remain aware of our surroundings to ensure a safe and fun experience. My goal is to provide dependable, compassionate care so you can feel confident knowing your pet is in safe, caring hands!

I am currently a full time college student with a part time job, so I do have to be fairly strict on which days I can provide services, but I am very flexible on days that I have available! About: I am a cat mommy and have been caring for the dogs of clients, my family and friends over the past 3 years! I have always loved animals and would love to care for your fur baby I am currently working part time. I work in the evening so I have plenty of free time to care for your pups and fur babies If I am to watch your pet(s) from your home, I would love take them out on walks, give cuddles and play with them! My schedule is pretty open so I am as flexible as possible! If your pet is to come to me, I live on the 3rd floor which requires stairs to access. I have an open field across from my complex and live 6-minutes from beach. I would love to take your pup out to the park or beach to get a good walk in! I have a studio apartment, so while there is not much room in here I can take your pup out plenty hours throughout the day between 8-3:30pm and for a nice walk at night around 8pm. About: I grew up with a golden retriever and have owned numerous rabbits in my life! I have assisted my friend that owns a doggy daycare business by dog walking and overnight sitting. I am a registered nurse, so I know a good deal of medical knowledge that may be helpful under certain circumstances! I work in a hospital 3 days a week therefore my schedule is very flexible, so I’m excited to care for your pet needs when you’re away & unavailable! I do not currently board, but I do love sitting at animals’ homes! I will always keep a close eye on the animals, as cuddling or playing is always talking place.

We are so grateful for Lauren’s kind and responsible care for our dogs and our home! She was more than happy to do a meet and greet before her stay and was very thoughtful about building a safe relationship with our pups. We appreciated Lauren’s availability as someone who works from home because our pups are not used to being left for very long stretches. She was incredibly respectful of our home and left it clean for our return. The pups appeared very comfortable and relaxed during her stay. Thank you, Lauren!!

FAQs for House Sitting - Peabody

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Peabody on Rover is $48.73 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 5,984 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Peabody. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Peabody walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Peabody maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Peabody choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Peabody. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
