“Omar was amazing! He took care of our 5 dogs at our home for 15 days with no issues. Omar is exactly the petsitter we needed to feel comfortable traveling in our retirement. We're already planning our next trip and will definitely be booking Omar to care for our dogs and home.”

“Meredith was great with Waffles while I was abroad. She checked in regularly with updates and sent pictures. She also left the house in great shape when she left! Highly recommend.”

“Sam was an amazing sitter for our 3 dogs and they loved her company so much. She watched the dogs while we had to travel far for a concert and she kept them loved and entertained until we returned. She is kind, sweet and clearly loves our dogs. She updated us with photos and kept us up to date frequently. We will hire her again without question!”

“Jesse did great with Montana while we were away. Montana needs a little extra attention and they clearly got along well. Great to know we can get away with someone like Jesse taking care of our little girl!”

“Katie did an excellent job taking care of our dog for 9 nights while we were in Europe. We felt at ease knowing our dog was in good hands, which allowed us to fully enjoy our trip. She provided regular updates with photos, which we really appreciated. Katie also stayed in our home, treated it with care, and left it clean and tidy.”

About: I first discovered my passion for animal care in fifth grade when I brought home and later adopted my class pet, Spot, an anole lizard who remained with our family for two years. Since then, I have continued developing hands-on experience caring for animals, including working with reactive dogs. During the pandemic, my family adopted our dog Henry, and through that experience I gained valuable insight into supporting dogs with anxiety and learning effective, patient approaches to behavioral management. I currently have full availability for the summer and am flexible in accommodating a wide range of pet care needs, including daytime, evening, and weekend care. I prioritize clear and consistent communication with pet owners to ensure I fully understand each pet’s individual needs and routine. My goal is to provide attentive, reliable care and make sure every pet is safe, comfortable, and receiving the highest quality care possible.
“I recently adopted my dog and wasn’t expecting to have to leave her with a sitter less than three weeks in, and was pretty nervous about it. Vanessa put me completely at ease, and my dog, Scarlett, loved her immediately. She sent daily updates and even kept up Scarlett’s daily dog park routine. My cat is a grumpy old man, but Vanessa was great with him as well. If you’re anxious about leaving home, and want to make sure your pets have a caring and calming presence in your absence, then I highly recommend Vanessa!”

About: Hello! My name is Kaylah and I am an animal lover! I have a gorgeous almost 7 year old German Shepherd that my family adopted from a shelter when she was 2 years old and I am her primary caretaker! I also have a black cat who my family has had since he was a kitten, named Percy. I assist in caring for him also. I just love animals and think each and every one should be treated with compassion and care. I’d love to meet and care for your pet friends!! I work Part-time currently- no longer than 6 hour shifts on about 3 weekdays and one 7 hour shift from 8-3 on Saturday. Other than that I I’ll have plenty of time to care for your pets! I will treat your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would my own. Whether it's feeding, playtime, walks, medication, or plenty of affection, I'll make sure your pet stays comfortable and follows their normal routine while you're away. I provide a calm, patient approach and will keep you updated with photos and messages for peace of mind. For everyone's safety, I only accept well-behaved, trained dogs. I'm happy to take dogs on walks as long as they are non-reactive and can be safely handled. I do not accept dogs with a history of aggression or behaviors that could put me or others at risk. My goal is to provide dependable, loving care while ensuring a safe and positive experience for both your pet and me.
“Teri is amazing! Once again she took the best care of our animals (and house) and made our travel so much less stressful. She went above in beyond in driving a good distance to get our dog a new ID tag when his fell off, and by the end of her visit, our incredibly shy cat was happily lounging on Teri's lap. We are so grateful to have her as a sitter.”

About: I've had pets my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I treat every pet like they're my own and understand how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they're away. I've helped friends and family with their pets over the years, and I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Since I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and receive plenty of supervision, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Whether your pet is working on potty training, crate training, or following a specific routine, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while they’re in my care. I provide a safe, clean, calm, and smoke-free environment. While I don’t have a fenced yard, dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, and exercise based on their individual needs and energy levels. For privacy and safety reasons, I don’t offer home tours.
“Jo was an incredible sitter for my two girls, one a young pup and one a senior. She provided updates and photos and was great with handling the special needs of a senior dog. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been around dogs my entire life and love all different types of animals. I was born and raised in North Dakota where hunting is very popular, so my family always had German Short Hair Pointers while growing up. I have two fur-kids of my own, two Boston Terriers. They love having visitors and meeting new friends. Our older Boston can get a little excited with new friends, so to make sure it is a good fit, we prefer a meet and greet. I will make sure your dog gets the love and attention they need and make them feel like a part of the family. We will spend a lot of time playing in the yard, and they will get tons of pets and scratchies! My husband and I both work hybrid schedules, so someone is always around. I only leave the house each day for about an hour to go to the gym or if we run errands/grab dinner. We will have a lot of play time and offer tons of love and attention! If we have an event planned during your pets stay, we will let you know before booking to ensure that is okay! We have a nice fenced in yard for your pup to play; and our Boston Terriers will keep your pup company during their stay. All pets are allowed on the furniture and in or bed (unless otherwise stated by the client). Our home is their home while they’re here! Someone is home during the day! I go to the gym regularly throughout the week for about an hour. During your pups stay we might go out for dinner or an event, but would never be gone for more than a few hours at a time. We always let a client know in advance if we have anything planned during the stay, but we are home the majority of the time. We have a fenced yard which is great for playing and running. We have stairs so if you have an older pup or a small pup, they would get the royal treatment and get carried up/down the stairs if needed. If we leave the house for a quick dinner or errands, we always separate our dogs from the pup guests just to be safe. We also leave the TV on to drown out any external noise so they feel more relaxed.

Most of my clients come through word-of-mouth recommendations (references available upon request) , and I take pride in building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners. With having 12 pets of my own, I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, as well as feeding and checking in on cats while families are away. You can count on me to provide dependable care, regular updates, and lots of love and attention for your pets. I work some nights a restaurant and currently on a gap year! I will be traveling a little bit but will be available a lot. I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 ferrets, a bunny, a bearded dragon, and some fish. I live in the basement am able to cut off my animals access down there if I were to watch your pet from my home which I’ve done before.
About: “I stand out for my patience and dedication. I have experience taking care of dogs of all ages, from puppies that need training to older pets that require special attention. I always prioritize the safety, well-being and happiness of each animal, adapting to their individual needs. I also have experience taking care of the elderly. " "Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine. I dedicate specific time for walks, feeding, games and supervision, making sure that each pet receives constant attention, exercise and affection, without affecting my other responsibilities." "When I take care of pets in my home, I create a safe, clean and comfortable environment, making sure they have fresh water, food, exercise and daily playtime. At the client's home, I follow all his specific instructions to maintain the pet's routine, respecting his habits and individual needs."
About: I have always owned pets and cared for pets of family and friends. I adopted my dog in 2017 and worked hard with a trainer and have learned a lot about walking dogs and caring for dogs and am very cautious and confident walking dogs. I also have 3 senior dogs currently and am used to caring for seniors. I currently work part time and have two children. My job schedule is flexible and I often have gaps in my day and time to walk dogs. I can also do occasional overnights. I will respect and follow your safety reccomendations and needs for your dog. I am very diligent and organized and will be able to follow instructions and keep your dogs safe and happy!
“We were so grateful to have Jane help us out by staying with our pups in our home a few days. She was proactive in reaching out about a meet and greet, and punctual. She followed their routine and was so loving towards them - they will surely miss her, and we’d love to have her back!”

“Julia did an amazing job start to finish. Our booking was within 2 weeks and included a last minute adjustment to the reservation. She was extremely accommodating and sent us funny photos and updates during her stay with our dog. Highly recommend, thanks Julia!”

“Alexa has come to stay with Wren a couple of times and has been (besides being a delightful human) professional, trustworthy and most importantly loving to our pup. I highly recommend her!”

“Libby is a fantastic and reliable sitter! She kept us updated throughout the long weekend while we were gone, and took our pups for plenty of long walks. Our anxious dogs can be a handful but Libby made them feel safe and loved! Definitely will rehire next time”

Sam was an amazing sitter for our 3 dogs and they loved her company so much. She watched the dogs while we had to travel far for a concert and she kept them loved and entertained until we returned. She is kind, sweet and clearly loves our dogs. She updated us with photos and kept us up to date frequently. We will hire her again without question!

Madelyn was the perfect dog sitter! Ozzie really loved her (and it takes a while for him to warm up to people), and they developed a really nice bond while we were away for two weeks. I would definitely recommend her to anyone and will be asking her to watch Oz again. She also left our home clean and organized and followed my instructions to a t!

Lauren was an amazing dog sitter and took very good care of our Martha. She was great at communicating and sending picture updates, and kept our home clean and just as we left it. She even did the laundry of the bedding and towels she used which was very appreciated. We would definitely hire her again!

Lauren was so fantastic! She was very responsive with a last minute request and made time for a meet and greet before I left town. She sent lots of pictures and updates, and couldn't have been more pleasant or easy to communicate with. The house was in better shape than I left it! I can't wait to have Lauren house sit my cat again, 10/10

Malena was fantastic with our 3 large dogs, one being a puppy. She stayed in close contact with us with plenty of updates and the pups loved her. All of our dogs have very different personalities and she did great with all of them. Our request was very last minute and she was able to accommodate everything we needed. We highly recommend her and will absolutely use her again!

Katie took the best care of our dog during an overnight stay at our house. She provided thorough updates and was so kind and professional. She put our mind at ease and we knew that our girl was safe and cared for. Could not have asked for anything better! Thank you so much Katie!!

Teri is fantastic with our two dogs, we have booked her for overnight stays before and try to book her anytime we take a vacation. Our doggos love her and she takes good care of our house as well - even watering our plants when the weather is hot! Teri is highly recommended!

Mark was great! Easy to work with, took my pup on great walks, gave updates as needed. Our very anxious pup didn’t want him to leave when we got home. This was our first time using Rover so we were so nervous but Mark put our mind at ease. We would definitely use him again.

Victoria was the best house/pet sitter I’ve had in ages! She was very communicative and did a meet and greet leading up to the booking. She sent pictures daily and kept me updated on my pets. She took wonderful care of my senior cat and made sure my pup had an outdoor adventure each day. Highly recommend her to anyone looking and will surely use her again!

That was my first time using Rover and working with Kirssy. Kirssy is amazing! Kittens warmed up to her fast and they became best friends. Kirssy sent me multiple pictures of the kitties every day and kept me posted of their activities. Will definitely use her service next time.

Harper has been great! She is our go-to in home pet sitter for our dog and cat. Harper is flexible with having to make small changes with a booking or care details. Harper also sends updates via text and pictures. We know Auggie and Pepper are always in good hands!
Leslie was such a pleasure to work with and treated my pets as her own! She went above and beyond to make sure my dog and cat were happy and tended to while we were away. She even made special food for my dog when his stomach was upset. I would highly recommend Leslie to any pet family! We will definitely be rebooking with her.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Marblehead on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 5,916 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marblehead. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marblehead walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marblehead maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marblehead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marblehead. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
