About: I have always owned pets and cared for pets of family and friends. I adopted my dog in 2017 and worked hard with a trainer and have learned a lot about walking dogs and caring for dogs and am very cautious and confident walking dogs. I also have 3 senior dogs currently and am used to caring for seniors. I currently work part time and have two children. My job schedule is flexible and I often have gaps in my day and time to walk dogs. I can also do occasional overnights. I will respect and follow your safety reccomendations and needs for your dog. I am very diligent and organized and will be able to follow instructions and keep your dogs safe and happy!
“I think Matthew for the two quick walks this week. It was so helpful and you took care of Luna and I appreciate your feedback and I appreciate you walking her. I will definitely ask you again to walk her. Thank you so much.”

About: I had 9 wonderful years as a Dog Mom, and currently work at a doggy daycare, where I get to spend my days grooming and giving lots of love to lots of pups! My home is located right next to a beach, as well as many walking paths and great places to take your pup on an adventure! If your pooch is a lounge lizard and prefers to sit on the couch and watch reruns of Friends, I’m your gal! I also have experience administering medications to dogs that require it. If your dog is a singer, I’ll be sure to be singing right along with them!! I’ve got lots more room in my heart for your pup, so please consider me when looking for the right person to care for your furry family member!
“Isabella was an exceptional walker for my dog, Zizou! She was a great listener during our first meet and greet and enthusiastically praised Zizou’s walking skills. She was so great that she offered to walk my dog again!”

About: I've had dogs on and off since I was a kid. From Great Danes to Jack Russel Terriers. I used to be the manager of a horse barn, so I'm used to all kinds of things. I have taken care of all kinds of friends pets, and done some house sitting. I generally get along with most dogs. Likewise, I do understand that sometimes it might take a while for an animal to warm up. All animals have personalities. I work full time, but can do evenings, and weekends. Or if an extended period of time is needed I can stay in the home and make sure your pet isn't left without a companion. If you need a pet sat in the house, I can definitely do more walks and more play time. I don't currently have something set up for in my home. But in a client's home it would depend on their wants and needs. This may vary, and I am adaptable.
“Madelyn was very prompt to pick our pup up for his walk and also made time for a meet and greet prior to our first walk to meet him and ourselves. Look forward to using her again in the future.”

“Cassie has been wonderful with my silly little boy. I had to leave a review today after she went above and beyond! My little trash goblin made a huge mess everywhere and she helped put everything back to normal, with a smile on her face. I'm so lucky to have her take care of my house and my fur baby.”

About: My regular job is working at a pet boarding facility (boarding at New England Veterinary Clinic!) as a pet care attendant, where I do all the same work as any pet sitter, just at my place of work. I feed dinner, give meds, take out and play with, both cats and dogs. I work part time and I am a student, but as classes end for the semester, I am open except for my 4/week 4 hr shifts at work. I have to be back at my house at night to take care of my own cat, but am available first thing in the morning and last thing at night as well as throughout the day. I care deeply about all pets and whatever quirks make them themselves. I know there may be a random thing that makes no sense, but brings them comfort, or even just you. I also care about people, and I know how important it is to feel that your pet is well cared for, and relive the anxiety of going on a trip. Not to mention, as I already take care of pets for work, I am very familiar with bonding with both pets and pet owners.
About: I first discovered my passion for animal care in fifth grade when I brought home and later adopted my class pet, Spot, an anole lizard who remained with our family for two years. Since then, I have continued developing hands-on experience caring for animals, including working with reactive dogs. During the pandemic, my family adopted our dog Henry, and through that experience I gained valuable insight into supporting dogs with anxiety and learning effective, patient approaches to behavioral management. I currently have full availability for the summer and am flexible in accommodating a wide range of pet care needs, including daytime, evening, and weekend care. I prioritize clear and consistent communication with pet owners to ensure I fully understand each pet’s individual needs and routine. My goal is to provide attentive, reliable care and make sure every pet is safe, comfortable, and receiving the highest quality care possible.
About: Hi! I’m Victoria, and I’ve been caring for cats and dogs for the past few years. I’m reliable, attentive, and love getting to know each pet’s unique personality. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or cozy couch cuddles, I make sure your furry friend feels safe and loved. You’ll always get updates while you’re away, so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. I have a pretty open schedule! I work part time and am in school part time and would like to fill some free time by caring for pets! I am unable to care for pets in my apartment, but can ensure their safety on walks or in your home if needed! I am able to provide updates and to meet you prior to caring for your pets so that you can get to know me!
About: I have so much love for animals, I will treat your pet as if it was my own and spoil them with all the love! I have experience administering oral medication and following special diets. About: Trusted by many local families, I provide reliable pet sitting, dog walking, and cat care. Most of my clients come through word-of-mouth recommendations (references available upon request) , and I take pride in building lasting relationships with both pets and their owners. With having 12 pets of my own, I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, and personalities, as well as feeding and checking in on cats while families are away. You can count on me to provide dependable care, regular updates, and lots of love and attention for your pets. I work some nights a restaurant and currently on a gap year! I will be traveling a little bit but will be available a lot. I have 3 dogs, 4 cats, 2 ferrets, a bunny, a bearded dragon, and some fish. Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Marblehead
Johnny was fantastic. It was the first time I'd used a sitter and I was really nervous to leave my pup in someone else's hands. Johnny did great with him, kept me informed about how he was doing, regularly sent pictures and was extremely responsive. Mando loved him and they got along great. I highly recommend him, and will defintely ask him to take care of my pup next time I travel.

This was our first time having our dog walked by someone. Isabella was gentle, kind, and made us feel very comfortable. Our girl Ylva felt comfortable right away and was SO happy when she came back from her walk. We are so grateful for a positive first experience and will definitely book with Isabella again.

- 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
