“Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She was extremely communicative and sent lots of photos and videos, which I really appreciated. I had to book last minute due to a family emergency, and she completely put my mind at ease. Lily was so well cared for and happy when I returned. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Michelle is a life saver. I needed surgery and didn’t have anyone to watch my German Sheppard Wesley. This is the first time I used Rover. Thank god Michelle was available. I made the reservation, dropped Wesley off an hour later and the admitted myself to the hospital for my surgery! Wesley had a great time. Thank you again, Michelle we definitely will be back!”

“Natali was great! She watched my pooch for me last minute and ensured he was comfortable and well taken care of after being neutered a few days prior. Would definitely recommend and book her again!”

“Lori was great ! She obviously loves dogs and was very caring. Leela came back happy and healthy. We would definitely use Lori again when we are back in the area. We were very pleased!!”

“Luciana was an awesome dog sitter. Took great care of our dog, sent lots of great pictures, was very responsive to everything we sent. We hope she is available the next time we have to leave! Thank you Luciana!!”
“While my family and I were on vacation, Rita did an excellent job taking care of Mango. She kept me updated daily with pictures and updates on his well-being. What I appreciated the most was the fact that Rita's home has a spacious fenced yard where Mango could get ample exercise. I will undoubtedly utilize Rita's services again and am grateful for discovering her on Rover. I highly suggest using Rita if you require a dog sitter.”

“Zwany and Leandro were conscientious and kind with Serena and Bobby; they sent daily pics and/or videos which helped with my missing my pups while away, and my friends enjoyed them, too! I loved receiving the puppy report card of their stay—a personal touch from a professional duo.”

“Kyra had the best time with Aurora and her sweet pup Madi! I was in Europe for a week and felt so at ease with constant updates and photos while I was away! I can’t recommend Aurora enough and feel confident in using her services again next time I go away!”

“I’m so glad Freddi was Tommy’s sitter! She took such good care of my old guy; I could tell how much he adored her and her husband when I picked him up. It was also evident in the awesome pictures they sent me every day. Tommy had his own vacation! All in all, they were great, and I can’t thank them enough. I hope I’m able to book them again the next time I have to go somewhere without my boy. Thanks, guys!”

“Brooke watched our two pups for a long weekend and they both came back completely wiped out from the fun they had. She was very accommodating with our schedule as we had to drop them off very early and pick them up very late. Thank you again!”

“Lori took great care of our 8 month old pup! She was super responsive and sent lots of pictures & updates. It was so nice having peace of mind knowing Maya was being well cared for while we were away!”

“Kat and Matthew were so excellent with my dog. Last minute, I was able to book with them after another sitter cancelled on me a few days before I left for a vacation. They worked with me to figure out all the details last minute, and I’m so grateful. Then, after flights were delayed, and I couldn’t make it back to town in time, they graciously offered to keep my dog one additional night. They also sent me daily updates with tons of pictures and videos, which I also really appreciated. This last minute booking turned out to be the perfect fit.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Marblehead
David was wonderful! Communicative, patient, kind. It was only for about 9 hours, but he went above and beyond to watch and care for our dog. He shared several pictures, and gave proactive updates, and was quick to answer during and leading up to our dog's stay. I would whole-heartedly recommend David.

I wish I could give more stars. Mirellys did an incredible job taking care of our little Toni during our wedding weekend! Toni had never stayed with anyone outside of our family before, and Mirellys did an amazing job meeting Toni where she was at and letting her warm up slowly. Mirellys sent tons of photos, and was very good about keeping us updated. Mirellys was kind enough to uber with Toni to our wedding to walk in the ceremony and mind her during the cocktail hour. She did a great job making our big day go seamlessly so we could have our Toni there. I would 1000% recommend Mirellys to anyone looking for a dog sitter.

Hyesun and Robert are fantastic. We will definitely use them again whenever our dogs need someplace to stay. They had multiple walks each day. Lots of playtime even had another dog that stayed there that our youngest dog is now best friends with. Lots of photos to keep us updated which we really appreciated. Highest recommendation for very very happy puppies.

Kyli and Scott were amazing! Our dog had so much love, attention, adventure, and care. He didn't want to leave! They took him to the beach, played with him with their giant bucket of toys, and sent lots of great pictures that are probably going to end up on his instagram. They were extremely responsive, and while our dog Kyle usually doesn't eat much when in a new environment, was actually eating his kibble more than at home! Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Charlotte is the best! I’d never left my anxious, yappy little old dog with anyone before, but Charlotte took a chance on her and gave her amazing care. She was patient, kind, and made sure my pup felt safe and loved the whole time. I got regular updates and came home to a happy dog — which is saying a lot! I can’t recommend her enough.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
