“Jennifer was absolutely amazing with my 10 year old dog, Barclay! This was his first stay with her while I was away on vacation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She sent regular updates and photos, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was obvious from every picture and message that Barclay was happy, relaxed, and being treated like part of the family. She even took him on little adventures, and I could tell he was having a great time. When I picked him up, he was healthy, happy, and completely himself, and I think he was wondering why the vacation had to end as he whined a bit when we left her! Jennifer is kind, attentive, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for dogs. Leaving my dog behind is never easy, but Jennifer made it so much easier knowing he was in such caring hands. I absolutely will book with her again, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter.”

“As usual, Lori was a gem. Alex found a new girlfriend while at Lori's this time, and met up with new and old friends. Getting updates and pictures while we were away gave us the comfort of knowing that Alex was happy and was being well cared for. Lori is the only person we leave Alex with on Rover. I would whole heartedly recommend her to anyone. Thanks again Lori.... and Alex thanks you. Ester & Larry Butler”

“We were so lucky to have Paul, Megan and family look after Ramsay for us. They are such a loving and welcoming family, we were able to take Ramsay over for a meet and greet, which was a great introduction! We dropped Ramsay off and knew he would be well looked after and we got lots of photos, videos and updates while we were away. It was clear when we picked Ramsay up that he was so comfortable and happy with his stay too! We couldn’t recommend their care more and I think Ramsay will be super excited to stay again in future!”

“Thank you Michelle for stepping in at last minute to help care for my dog while I was a abrias. Especially with my dog had an unexpected major surgery. Her willinness to accomodate and support meant more than I can say. I was extremely stressed at the time, and her help brought me great peace of mind. Thanks again for everything.”

“Hyesun and her husband took great care of Daphne while we were away. They were communicative and send updates and photos. We were happy to know she was in caring hands!”

“Liz was kind and gentle with my dog, Charlie. Everything about this was a good experience-she was easy to communicate with and flexible with figuring out the details. Highly recommend!”

“Natasha and Jonathan make our dog feel right at home! Our dog is usually timid when we drop her off at dog sitters, but after the first visit she was excited to see them and seemed very comfortable with them. They provided lots of updates and photos and were always prompt on answering my messages. I’m excited that we found a dog sitter that our dog is happy and we feel peace of mind leaving her!”

“Felicia was absolutely amazing with Bella! She welcomed her into her home with so much care and love. Bella can be shy, but Felicia made her feel comfortable right away. I really appreciated how professional she was and how often she sent me updates and pictures—it gave me so much peace of mind knowing Bella was happy and safe. I could tell Bella was well taken care of and treated like family. I highly recommend Felicia to anyone looking for a kind, reliable, and professional sitter.”

“Quiana is AMAZING!!!!!!! She was phenomenal with all three dogs and asked such great, breed-specific questions during our Meet and Greet. She also did a wonderful job accommodating medication and odd feeding requests, and helped give us peace of mind with regular updates on each. What a fantastic sitter!! Cannot praise her enough.”

“Jessica is amazing. She took exceptionally good care of our young puppy while we traveled out of state. Jessica provided lots of pictures and updates. She was patient with puppy behavior and has a beautiful property with lots of outdoor space for play. We felt so lucky to find Jessica and for the living care she gave our pup. Thanks, Jessica!!”

“Great sitter, and treats my dog Widget like family! Extremely communicative, and has a sense of humor about my dog's quirks. Her big yard means my dog has plenty of space to romp around. Since I live in the city, it must feel like a vacation for him, too!”

“Ana Maria was great with my puppy. She was very caring and understanding of my puppy separation anxiety, and also she was flexible with my last minute schedule change. She was truly a blessing during our trip to MA and I am looking forward to come back to MA to visit my daughter and booking with Ana Maria again. 😊”

“Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She was extremely communicative and sent lots of photos and videos, which I really appreciated. I had to book last minute due to a family emergency, and she completely put my mind at ease. Lily was so well cared for and happy when I returned. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Xinyue and Weihai were most accommodating and responsive during a last minute stay. Indy had a great time and I felt most assured of his care while I was away. Highly recommend!”

“The best experience I have ever had with a sitter! Christina was extremely flexible and communicative! She provided photos of our pup having the best time all weekend and frankly our dog was less than impressed with us when we picked her up. Will definitely be booking her again.”

“Antonio took great care of Dexter! He was responsive, sent lots of pictures, and Dexter was happy and comfortable throughout his 6 day stay. I will definitely book again with Antonio the next time I go out of town! Thank you for a great stay :)”

“Isabella was extremely responsive and communicative! She took on a tall task of watching after not only my dog, Muzzy, but 3 other dogs simultaneously, all while also taking care of her baby. Isabella kept us updated with videos throughout the day. I would definitely ask Isabella to care for Muzzy again in the future.”

“Jodi was wonderful with our pups, and it gave us so much peace of mind on our trip knowing that they were with people who treat them like family. We had our two boys stay with her, and for our 7mo puppy, it was his first time being boarded. She gave lots of updates about how they were adjusting, how they were feeling, and generally their mood those first few days. She took them on adventures out to the nearby towns, which they loved, as well as giving them nearly unfettered access to her yard for them to run around. They were really comfortable and happy with her and we'll definitely be leaving them again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
