“Jodi was wonderful with our pups, and it gave us so much peace of mind on our trip knowing that they were with people who treat them like family. We had our two boys stay with her, and for our 7mo puppy, it was his first time being boarded. She gave lots of updates about how they were adjusting, how they were feeling, and generally their mood those first few days. She took them on adventures out to the nearby towns, which they loved, as well as giving them nearly unfettered access to her yard for them to run around. They were really comfortable and happy with her and we'll definitely be leaving them again!”

“Freddi and her boyfriend are such caring dog sitters. It’s obvious that they loves the dogs a lot, often taking them on long walks to tire them out and having them play. They are very attentive and patient, often updating me about the dogs and even offering suggestions on changing their food intake after doing some research. Our dogs were very happy and healthy when we went to pick them up, and even kind of sad to leave. It’s clear that they had a great time at Freddi’s by their smiles and tail wags. I would highly recommend this family if you’re going away for vacation—they are patient, kind, and very caring! 10/10 experience.”

“Cheryl took amazing care of my disabled senior dog with multiple health issues and went above and beyond while I was away. She carefully followed all of my instructions, made sure medications were given properly, and gave my dog so much love, attention, and comfort. Her updates gave me real peace of mind, and I felt so reassured knowing my dog was in such caring and capable hands! I’m incredibly grateful and would absolutely book with her again.”

“Rebecca was very communicative about my pup’s stay. She sent pictures and updates. It was clear my dog had a nice time and was well cared for. My dog is a little slow to warm up and anxious but she settled in well and enjoyed playing with the other dogs. My dog came home happy and healthy.”

“Our dog Eevee had such a good time staying here and playing with Igo. Wonderful to get updates on how she was doing and to see that she had a great time and lots of fresh air in the fenced backyard! Thank you for following her feeding schedule, for grooming her and brushing her teeth and taking such good care of our girl 🤗”

“Michelle was kind and patient with Nala and Sadie (and me, who had more anxiety than the both of them!!). It was their first time ever boarding with someone and they came home happy and exhausted. I really appreciated Michelle's communication and sending me videos and pictures for updates so I felt at ease and knew my pups were taken care of.”

“Michael was very communicative the whole time, and our Caju had a great time at his house! He was well taken care of and came back happy and tired :) I’ll definitely do it again when needed!”

“10/10! When I drop off my pup with Valeri, I know he will be happy. He's become best friend with Valeri's dog, Lexi, and as soon as we pull up to her house he is excited to play. Valeri is great about updating me, both in terms of sending cute photos as well as letting me know about any behavioral changes she picks up on. I deeply appreciate this care and attention to detail!”

About: I have always owned pets and cared for pets of family and friends. I adopted my dog in 2017 and worked hard with a trainer and have learned a lot about walking dogs and caring for dogs and am very cautious and confident walking dogs. I also have 3 senior dogs currently and am used to caring for seniors. I currently work part time and have two children. My job schedule is flexible and I often have gaps in my day and time to walk dogs. I can also do occasional overnights. I will respect and follow your safety reccomendations and needs for your dog. “We have finally found the perfect babysitter. Jasmine made us feel safe, comfortable and completely at ease after the first day. The daily communication complete with daily videos is unmatched. This is a deeply caring person who cares for her charges as though they were her own. We can’t thank her enough and will always use jasmine and recommend her to anyone who will listen. Thank you Jasmine for a safe and secure environment.”

“Tiara was very loving and caring to my Yorkie. Mowgli has a difficult time going to new places. Tiara made sure she kept in touch with me and asked questions about his care throughout his stay. I was very pleased with her care.”

“Patricia was fabulous! She took incredible care of our pup like she was one of her own! When watching her during the heatwave Patricia made sure there was lots of fun things for her to do to cool off. She got to go swimming in the pool and played around in the splash pad. Patricia was great at keeping us updated and sent lots of photos and videos! Our pup can’t wait to go back!”

“Jennifer and her family were so wonderful. They provided a lovely and safe home for Walter while we were on vacation. Her dog Molly even taught our dog good manners. Highly recommended!!!”

About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I am a dog lover looking for more dogs to love on. My husband Eric and I have a very sleepy Pyrenees who we are always looking to introduce to more friends! I love getting to hang with all types of dogs whether it’s walking, playing, or having them stay with us. I’ve cared for elderly dogs, puppies, and everything in between for the last 10 years. Can’t wait to meet you soon! Since covid, I am work from home most of the day and would love an extra furry friend or two to get me out of the house. Because I am work from home, I’m very flexible on walks, day cares, and much more! I love going to the dog parks around town and would be more than happy to take your baby there as well. We have a large fenced in yard to keep your fur baby busy. Not the athletic type? Great! We have a big couch and lots of comfy spots for them to laze around in.
About: What sets me apart is my firsthand experience caring for a senior dog with special needs. My beloved dog lived to be 14 years old and required daily insulin injections, medications, and extra care as he became blind and developed canine dementia. Through it all, I learned patience, attentiveness, and the importance of understanding each pet's unique needs. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else's care, and I will treat your pet with the same love, compassion, and attention that I gave my own. Whether your pet is young and energetic or a senior needing a little extra support, they will be cared for like family. Pet care fits naturally into my life because I work from home, which allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. I also love being outdoors and enjoy taking walks, so your pet will get plenty of fresh air, exercise, and one-on-one time. After caring for my own beloved dog for 14 years, I understand how important it is to know your pet is safe, comfortable, and loved while you're away. Whether your pet enjoys playtime, walks, or simply relaxing with company, I'll make sure they receive the care and attention they deserve. I understand that every pet has their own routine, personality, and needs. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client's home, I follow the owner's instructions closely to help pets feel comfortable and maintain their normal schedule. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, administering medications if needed, and providing plenty of attention and affection. Having cared for a senior dog with diabetes, blindness, and canine dementia, I am comfortable providing extra patience and care for pets with special needs. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for while their owner is away.
“While we were away on vacation for a week, Tippy had his own little vacay with Elliot and Jo! They frequently sent us photos of him at the park, the beach, and even on a little road trip! As always, Tippy had a fabulous time, and I think we ended up missing him more than he missed us, haha! Thanks again for taking good care of him! :)”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Beverly
We used Sam to board our dog Mia for the first time recently, and she was absolutely amazing! We just adopted Mia two months ago (she’s a rescue from the south), so we were super nervous about leaving her for a week. At the dog hotel we used to use for our other pup, they literally charged us $4 per photo and we constantly had to beg them for updates. Sam was the exact opposite. Right from the meet-and-greet, she was so attentive and asked tons of questions to make sure she knew exactly how to give Mia the best care. While we were gone, she sent so many updates and pictures without us even having to ask, which gave us total peace of mind. She even handled Mia's allergy medication which was another concern of ours. Plus, her dog Poppy is the absolute cutest and friendliest pup ever! If want someone who will actually give you pup personal, hands-on love and attention, you need to book Sam.

This is the third time Tina has taken care of Bill and we'll continue to use her help. She keeps us informed with pictures and videos on how Bill is doing and she keeps him very busy as well. Bill is always happy to see her and stay with her and that gives us a peace of mind knowing that he is also happy when we are having "adult" vacations. We highly recommend her, she is trustworthy, reliable and very easy to talk to.

From the moment I met Sarah at her home, I knew my Luigi was in good hands. Sarah is a true cat lover like me. I could tell by the number of toys and treats that abounded. Luigi was instantly at ease with Sarah. She was gentle and affectionate. Sarah shared pictures of our fur baby each day we were away. I very much appreciate the communication and I could tell that Luigi was content and relaxed in Sarah's care. I will be leaving Luigi with Sarah again in the future. It is a relief to know that I will not have to worry at all whether or not my kitty is happy while I travel.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
