A typical day

I love to hike in the woods or walk to the nearby beaches and parks with your dog(s). I always have a ball or a stick to toss too! If you're fur-ball is more the mellow type, I'm happy to just keep him/her company with a movie or sitting on my patio.

Pet care experience

Being around animals has always come natural to me. As a child I had dogs and cats that were my best friends. As an adult, I was blessed to love two Chesapeake Bay retrievers and 4 wonderful cats, a bearded dragon, many fish and a few turtles. I have a beautiful orange cat that I care fore now. He has diabetes so he get's a shot twice a day and loves to cuddle. I would love your pet as my own, with the utmost of love and care. Let me know if you have any special requests or care needs. I also have a fenced in yard, and love to walk/jog, company welcome. I have weekends off and can do some early morning and evening walks or sleepovers during the week with notice. We can work out the details.

We recognize that Liz may be a good fit for low maintenance sitting needs, however unfortunately, we did not have the five star experience with Liz as many have praised. While no long term harm is done, Liz has been dismissive and dishonest in regards to care instructions, and accusatory when approached with feedback which I find to be disrespectful and unwelcome in my home. Proceed with caution when booking. We reached out to Liz to sit in our home for our high energy, reactive, standard size goldendoodle and cat. We know that our dog is high maintenance, which is why we specifically sought out a sitter with great reviews and experience that could follow our routines in our home to minimize our dogs anxiety and reactivity. We had an in person meet and greet with Liz where we reviewed the services needed and expectations, where Liz assured us she had enough experience to care for our dog and that she was "not worried" about his reactivity and routines. We let her know he requires three walks a day, and she told us she works full time during the week but would come by during her lunch break to walk him. We shared that we have a local emergency contact and full time walker if absolutely needed. She mentioned her son is available to walk Remy also, and we let her know we would be okay with that only in an emergency, as we had not met him nor is he on Rover for us to review his background. We asked Liz to do a test walk, which she completed, and we compensated her for. All seemed well and both parties agreed to proceed. Since we were traveling out of the country, we put together everything we talked about in our in person meet and greet in writing for Liz to reference, including details about our home to make her more comfortable, which I let her know I was putting together prior to her arrival. We spent an hour with Liz upon arrival for the service before we left the country, and reviewed the manual we put together with her. She again said she "wasn't worried" and "everything would be fine". While we were away, we checked in with Liz on a few occasions as we could see on our security system that she was not following our routines as requested; when asked if she was doing okay following our instructions, she confirmed that she was following our routines. We had directed 3-30 minute walks per day with a PM bathroom break and could see that Liz was only completing two 10-15 minute walks per day and one mid-day bathroom break. We know that this likely increased anxiety and reactivity in our dog which does create challenges in care, so we ended up booking our full time walker for weekdays while Liz was at work. Liz did offer several times for her son to complete the walks, but as we had previously discussed, we were not comfortable with this substitute. Upon our return and completion of the service, we reached out to Liz for a refund on the secondary services we had to book for our full time walker, as well as a price reduction per day as our directions were not followed. Liz responded by claiming that she "didn't agree to anything" in our instructions and accused me of purposefully not adding information to our Rover profile and "sprung it on her on our way out the door". This accusation is simply false and truly disappointing as I feel we could have resolved our concerns professionally but it seems she is not interested in finding a resolution.
