“Vanessa watched our two super shy cats over the holidays. One of our cats requires a daily medication mixed in with food and, as cats do, refuses it unless conditions are perfect to her evolving specifications 😂. Vanessa troubleshooted with us to meet her demands 👑. She was very patient with our other anxious nugget also, who even accepted her head scratches. They both seemed really healthy when we returned. Vanessa was also reliable with her visit times and communication.”

“Jonathan has been excellent! He’s been very kind and patient with my energetic dogs and focused on their safety and well being. Jonathan has been punctual, reliable and a pleasure to work with. =)”

About: Every animal is unique, and I pride myself on understanding your pet's particular set of wants and needs and meeting them where they're at. If your pup is the type that jumps up off the couch to greet every person who walks in the door, I'll return that energy. If, like the Jack Russell I grew up with, they mostly want someone to feed them, walk them, and give them the occasional pet, I'll tend to their needs while giving them the space they want. And if, like my sister's dog, they're anxious about every new face they see, I'll approach them with the tact and patience they need to be comfortable. I've grown up with and cared for dogs for the past twenty years, and I've loved each and every one of them. I have experience caring for both puppies and seniors, walking large and reactive dogs, and administering meds. I do this full time and attend graduate school part time, so I have a very flexible schedule and am able to attend to a wide variety of needs. Your pet's safety is always my number one priority. I like to have a full written list of their needs so that there is no room for confusion and to ensure I know about any quirks of theirs and/or worries of yours. I tend to send updates on a daily basis, but that can always be adjusted to a schedule that works better for you.
About: I have my very own rescued golden retriever/hound mix named Goldfish. He’s taught me the importance of patience, slow introductions and the power of treats! I have experience working with large breeds, anxious dogs, reactive dogs and senior dogs with special needs. I’m also a runner so I’d be happy to take your high energy pups on a run! I have a flexible schedule since I work part time. I will be available to hang out with your pups most days of the week! I’m attune to dog body language and make sure to read their cues when approaching them. I’ll be sure that they’re secure when entering and exiting a home. When we’re on walks, I’ll make sure that they don’t get into things when they’re not supposed to and be cautious of other dogs and people.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs for friends and family all my life. I’m always a go to call for any of my friend’s pet needs due to my reliability and consistency. I’m a lover of all pets, cats and dogs alike. All animals deserve all the same love and care! I work in the construction trades Monday through Friday with time after my work days from 3pm to 10pm. My weekend availability is a lot more flexible so I would be able to do multiple visits during my the weekend. I have immense cat care throughout my years, in visits for feedings or check ins to cleaning litter boxes. For dogs, I would be able to go for walks, go for visits and check ins, and feedings as well. I am very good with all animals alike.
“Highly recommend Johnny! He took excellent care of our dog Candy, feeding her and taking her out for a nice walk. He was incredibly communicative, followed all of our instructions to a T, and gave us total peace of mind. Candy was in great hands, and we will absolutely reach out to him again in the future!”

“Julia was great! She sent the best pics of my kitty while I was away and he seemed to really enjoy her company during the drop-ins. No issues what so ever and will definitely be using her again!”

“Ashley came over to meet Pippa prior to the drop in visits. She’s so pleasant and has experience with rescue dogs. She follows up with pictures after each visit. I highly recommend her.”

About: I've had cats my whole life. I took care of my grandmothers dog for 7 years including vet visits. I'm more than happy to spend all day with your pets and keep them entertained. I love to walk! Sun or rain I'll go for a walk and will walk any animal. I have an open schedule for the summer so anytime you need me I can be there. I will not be able to keep pets at my apartment since dogs are not allowed in the buildingand cats are only allowed if owned by myself.
“Was able to fit me in within a week and took care of my dogs well when I was out. Was communicative especially when I was working a large event and couldn’t get back to him.”

“Lauren took such great care of our cats while we were on vacation! She played with them each day, sent us lots of pictures, and very funny updates! We would have her back any time to watch them again”

“Amy was fabulous to work with! She made sure to connect with my cats, even when they were a bit shy at first. She sent great updates and my mind was really at ease. Amy clearly loves animals and my two took an instant liking to her. I will definitely rebook with Amy!”

About: I grew up a family that is never complete without a four legged sibling. I learned to care for our dogs early on, and was raised to walk, clean, medicate, feed, and train just like I was raised to make my bed as a part of my routine. During weekdays I work as a daycare teacher, and I check on my pets before and after! On the weekends, I come by morning, afternoon and evening to make sure that they are enjoying their weekend as much as I am I always check water and food after greeting your pet, and administer medication as needed. For cats, I’ll check the litter box, and for dogs I’ll take them for a walk. Afterwards, I make sure to spend some quality time playing with them!
“Emily was outstanding in taking care of our cats and keeping us updated on how they were doing while we traveled. She brought such peace of mind to our trip, and our kitties clearly loved her!!”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Beverly
Reagan took excellent care of our cats while we were away for a week. She gave regular full updates on their well being which allowed us to fully relax on vacation. We came home to our cats in great spirits, they seemed at ease and comfortable under Reagan’s care - we definitely will be booking with her again! Thank you Reagan!

We hired Jamie based on her recommendations and repeated customers here on Rover. I was nervous to leave my two kitties, especially my elder cat who is chronically ill. Jamie was punctual and attentive to their needs, feeding, dispensing my calico’s meds, and spending time with both. She alleviated my fears by being in touch during visits, and the photos she sent assured me that they were in good hands. They seemed calm and happy, responding to her positively. My second cat is very shy, and her approach obviously was effective as her photos show him very chill. I recommend her highly.

Isabella was great! She was very attentive to Mozzarella’s needs and sent me lots of pictures and updates. Mozzarella was temporarily on a medication and she was able to give it to him each day and she also gave him lots of playtime. I would definitely book with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
