About: My name is Meryn DeSimone, I am 22 and recently graduated from Elon University. I've taken care of a variety of different of animals and truly love spending time with pets! I currently have a chinchilla, Frank and a leopard gecko, Sally. My parents have two dogs also, Kip and Hammy and I have grown up with having dogs and cats around so they are second nature to me. I consider myself to be an organized and dedicated person with a big heart for animals. I would be more than happy to assist with any local pet care needs. I have plenty of time in the afternoon after my classes and I would love to spend that time going on a walk or taking care of pets! I can walk the dogs for long enough to make sure they are tired, feed them, clean up after them and even give medications or special requests that the animals would need!

Jessica was pleasant, punctual and great with our Bella! Our dog has anxiety and is not the friendliest around people she doesn’t know. But Jessica did what I suggested and was able to have our dog feel comfortable with her and even alerted us about a situation in our house ! I definitely highly recommend her !

About: I’ve been a pet lover all my life. I was lucky enough to work in an Animal Hospital while I was in college and learned basic pet First Aid, and how to spot health issues with animals before they become a problem. I currently walk and pet sit dogs as small as 7lbs to my biggest client who is 135lbs. I’m semi retired and love spending time with animals, so walking and pet sitting has been great! I am flexible and have a good car that is reliable in all weather. I have two large pups at home ( Beau and Casey Jones), who stay home when I pet sit and walk dogs so that I can give my client’s pets my undivided attention.

Laura was great. She cleaned some unfortunate litter box issues. Bless her. More importantly than that, though. I returned home to cats that were not stressed. This is a first for them and I’m so grateful.

About: I am attentive, patient, kind, and empathetic toward all animals. I’ve spent my whole life around pets, grew up with four huskies, and have always wanted more pets in my life. I currently have two cats, a senior named Gatsby and a kitten named Pippin. I look forward to meeting and caring for your pets! I work from home full time and set my own schedule, so I can be flexible with timing of walks and drop in home visits. I have a car and easy access to all forms of transportation. I can visit your home and stick to your and your pets’ routines, or pop by in the middle of the day for walks and trips to the dog park.

Henry is so amazing! My dog is fearful and tends to growl and look scary and he was confident, calm, and able to help get my dog to go outside. I appreciate him jumping in in short notice to take care of my two dogs. He did a great job. I plan to use him anytime in the future that I need a dog sitter.

About: Hi there! My name is Sam and I am a dog lover looking for more dogs to love on. My husband Eric and I have a very sleepy Pyrenees who we are always looking to introduce to more friends! I love getting to hang with all types of dogs whether it’s walking, playing, or having them stay with us. I’ve cared for elderly dogs, puppies, and everything in between for the last 10 years. Can’t wait to meet you soon! Since covid, I am work from home most of the day and would love an extra furry friend or two to get me out of the house. Because I am work from home, I’m very flexible on walks, day cares, and much more! I love going to the dog parks around town and would be more than happy to take your baby there as well. We have a large fenced in yard to keep your fur baby busy. Not the athletic type? Great! We have a big couch and lots of comfy spots for them to laze around in.

About: Through the Companion Animals program at Essex Tech, I have been taught intensively about animal husbandry. Along with my coursework, I also worked for the school as a dog trainer and dog, cat, and rodent groomer for 2 years. Later I worked as a dog trainer and dog daycare worker for 2 years. I taught countless clients and managed large playgroups of dogs. I have picked up priceless knowledge on dog behavior, body language, animal handling, first aid, nutrition, and much more. These skills give me the comfort I need to know I can provide the best, most informed care to every beloved pet I work with! I work through a flexible, positivity based approach, prioritizing client and animal trust above all else. I understand that every animal needs different methods to feel (and act) their best—and I mean EVERY animal! I have experience in reptiles, avians, rodents, and cats along with dogs, owning and/or working with all consistently throughout the years! I hope we can work together to help your animal family members have the greatest time, even when you’re away! I’m currently teaching part time, so I have extra time every day to care for your best friend(s)! My work schedule is 1:30-5:00pm M-F every day that school is in session. Additionally, I am typically available every weekend Safety and comfort is of utmost importance to me. I know we all have those weird habits we do to make our pet comfortable, and I am willing to do what will help your friend while you’re away! As a nervous and reactive dog owner and someone with extensive experience with all sorts of animal personalities (Really! At daycare, we had over 100 dogs daily, and during my schooling, I cared for over 30 different animals!), I may even have some extra tips to help your pet feel safer. I am also Pet First Aid and CPR Certified, and I am no stranger so utilizing those skills in the field.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in South Hamilton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
