About: My name is Meryn DeSimone, I am 22 and recently graduated from Elon University. I've taken care of a variety of different of animals and truly love spending time with pets! I currently have a chinchilla, Frank and a leopard gecko, Sally. My parents have two dogs also, Kip and Hammy and I have grown up with having dogs and cats around so they are second nature to me. I completely understand how much trust it takes to let someone into your home. For extra peace of mind, I always encourage pet parents to use cameras if they’d like because that way you can see your pets happy and comfortable while you’re away. I also send regular updates, photos and videos so you can relax knowing your best friend is in loving hands. Just for extra reassurance, I don’t invite people into your home. The only time I ever have was for a family I’d been sitting for over many years, and I made sure to ask first—I only had my dad over for dinner because it was Thanksgiving during that stay. Aside from that, I would never invite friends or anyone else over, as I personally find that disrespectful.
