Katiana did a fabulous job and went above and beyond during a week of drop-in visits including taking care of a fire alarm situation. Took great care of the cat too.

About: Having dogs my entire life has granted me the luxury of being comfortable with dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. Currently, my mother and I are sharing custody of a rescue mutt. I'm also the go to dog sitter for my brother's pit bull terroir & lab. Just like us, our dogs need food, water, exercise and lots of love! I am happy to assist you with all of this and more. Including giving pet medications from pills to insulin. Open to discussing other needs not listed here! I currently work Monday through Thursday 8-5pm & Fridays 8-3pm in a dog friendly office. I do have an hour lunch break and am willing to use that time to stop by. My after work activities are extremely flexible! Weekends are also flexible and am happy to discuss overnight stays/boarding needs. If you're looking to board, please note that my condo association does not allow for 'large' dogs. There is also a 2 dog max. However, being comfortable with dogs of all sizes, I am sure we can work with my condo limits to meet your needs. If you have a fenced in yard I'm happy to throw a ball around or if your dog loves to destroy plush toys, happy to clean that up too! Hiking is also a personal love of mine and great for high energy pups.

About: I adopted my first dog in second grade. He was my responsibility and as I got older, I learned that I loved going for walks outside as much as my dog. Now that I'm older, I love taking friends' dogs for hikes in new locations. I have even managed to train one of my friend's reactive dog so she pulls on the leash less. I also briefly fostered animals when I was in graduate school. I am a teacher on summer break, so I have plenty of hours to devote to your pet and look forward to enjoying plenty of summer outside time with your dog. I have walked a wide range of dogs, including a couple of reactive pit bull mixes. I have experienced triggering situations with dogs and know how to either handle them or avoid them.

About: Hi everyone! I am an active dog lover who is excited to take care of your fur babies! I am very active so there will be lots of walks and hikes (unless not wanted). We also have a large fenced in back yard and great dog waking neighborhood. We also have a 2 year old Golden who gets along well and is around other dogs often. Looking forward to connecting. Any questions - don’t hesitate! I worked in the corporate world for 20 years and am fortunate to have the opportunity to take a year off and do what I love! I have a large fenced in yard, a 2 year old Golden Retriever and 3 kids. Husband is also a dog lover as his mother breeder German Shephards when he was a child. We “live” in our home but would require the dog be house trained (unless. Puppy).

About: Growing up, our family dog was given to me for my 7th birthday and she was my sole responsibility. She was Scottish Terrier/Poodle mix we adopted from the Dumb Friends League in Denver Colorado. She was only 4 months old so I was completely responsible for potty training her, daily walks and daily food and fresh water throughout her long, healthy, nearly 15 years of life. More recently, I have lived closer to my family, both of whom have had shelter dogs (silky terrier, schnauzer/terrier mix) and cats. I have often taken care of them during weekends and vacations. I have taken care of my sister's senior cats which both required insulin shots and other oral medication daily. My sister is also a highly-rated Rover caretaker and I often visit the animals in her care to play, walk and love on. For her regular clients, I have stepped in for overnight stays when she was not available; dogs included golden retreiver, fox hound and lab mixes. When I adopted my rescue, Duchess, we attended Beginner Band Camp dog training at Bark-n-Roll in Reading, to bond and learn/reinforce all her basic commands. I am strong advocate of their style of training which emphasizes positive reinforcement and support. I work from home and after 20+ years in software development, I am currently starting my own business. To balance all this work on the computer, Duchess (my rescue dog) and I make sure to go outside for potty breaks, sniff adventures and roaming around the conservation land at the back of our house every couple of hours. We faithfully hop in the car to our nearest park or trail for walks every other day in all types of weather. For daycare and overnight stays in my home, I would prefer small to medium dogs (less than 30 pounds) as my house is not very big. I have a calm and gentle cockapoo rescue named Duchess, to keep your fur baby company. If we are staying overnight at your house, I'd need to be able to take Duchess with me. She is calm, potty-trained, well-behaved and rarely barks. I live on 1/2 an acre that backs up to conservation land which I'm happy to let your pups roam on. There is a small grassy area (12 x 15') off the patio that is fenced and when the weather is nice they can sunbathe on the porch and come and go through the patio door as they please. Loafing is allowed on all surfaces, as well as snuggling in designated beds or my bed at night if preferred. ;-) On the rare occasion of an errand, I can either take your pup along or leave at home, but never more than an hour.

Michelle agreed to watch my new puppy with very short notice when I had to take my other dog to a vet. Her communication was very prompt and on point. I just got the puppy a week ago and I think I was that neurotic new mother who had too many requests. Mechelle was very understanding and open to my requests. She seemed to genuinely enjoy spending time with Bo (our new puppy) and send me the cutest pics. When I got home, Bo was asleep in his pen tired from all the playing. I decided to ask Michelle to come back regularly until Bo is a bit older so I can go to work rest assured that he is in good hands.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Reading stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Reading choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Reading with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Reading. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
