About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover and have had a cat and dog of my own since I was a child, so I know just how much our pets become a part of the family. I’ve also had the opportunity to care for my neighbors’ and friends’ pets while they’ve been away on vacation, giving me experience with keeping pets comfortable, happy, and on their normal routines while their owners are away. I’m patient, attentive, and dependable, and I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and little quirks. Whether your pet is playful and energetic, shy and independent, or happiest curled up in a cozy spot, I’ll meet them where they’re comfortable. Most importantly, I’ll treat your fur babies like family and give them the same love, care, and attention I’d want for my own. 🐾❤️ I’m currently in nursing school, so while I do have a structured schedule, I also have plenty time during both the week and weekend to care for your pets. I’m organized, responsible, and comfortable following specific instructions, whether that means sticking to feeding schedules, giving medications, cleaning litter boxes, or making sure your cat gets plenty of playtime and attention. I’ll always do my best to make caring for your fur baby as seamless and stress-free as possible while you’re away! First things first, I would 100% die for your pet. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing are my top priorities. I’m responsible, detail-oriented, and comfortable following specific care instructions and routines. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care I would my own, while making sure your cat feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I know how much trust it takes to leave your fur baby in someone else’s care, and I’ll do everything I can to give you peace of mind while you’re away. I’m also more than happy to keep you updated with plenty of pictures and updates so you know your baby is happy and doing well! And of course, I am ready to give your pet allll the love and attention they deserve while you are gone!
“Jesse took great care of Millie while we were gone and left our home in perfect condition. Couldn't be happier with the communication and photos. Would def work with Jesse again!”

“This is our second time having Lauren watch our two dogs. She is a wonderful houseguest. We will definitely reach out again in the future. It's nice to know our dogs are taken care of while we are out of town.”
“Jessica is a dog-whisperer! Our dog Timba immediately fell in love with her. Jessica looked after our two "shell-shocked" dogs with love and care. They have recently been transplanted from abroad and have had a hard time living in a more "socialized"environment. Jessica's dog expertise offered them a calming caretaker and allowed them to settle into a new relationship over a couple of days. We are very happy to have found Jessica and highly recommend her.”

“Lauren was wonderful with my two cats. One in particular can be hard to win over and she warmed right up to her. She was very thoughtful and responsive. I highly recommend.”

“Sam was an amazing sitter for our 3 dogs and they loved her company so much. She watched the dogs while we had to travel far for a concert and she kept them loved and entertained until we returned. She is kind, sweet and clearly loves our dogs. She updated us with photos and kept us up to date frequently. We will hire her again without question!”

“Catherine was great! She arrived a little early to get familiar with dogs, routines and house and had a great way with the dogs. She is definitely an experienced dog sitter and the dogs seemed very comfortable with her. We plan to use her again and recommend her services.”

“Maria was amazing! This was our first time using Rover, and Maria was so accommodating with a last minute request to watch our dog, Zolie. We felt so comfortable leaving her with Maria as she has experience with reactive dogs. We would definitely love to work with her again!”

About: Growing up with 3 dogs and 6 sweet cats taught me that every pet has a unique personality. With years of hands-on experience caring for family and friends' pets, I'm confident handling diverse needs—including behavioral challenges—with patience, attentiveness, and lots of love. As a full-time college student, I offer flexible care built around my class schedule. I’m available all weekend, early mornings, evenings, and nights throughout the week, with mid-day availability around lunch for quick check-ins or walks. I communicate my schedule clearly so your pet gets reliable, consistent care every time. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I maintain a secure, pet-proofed environment and strictly follow your home’s security and entry routines. From timely meals and regular potty breaks to dedicated playtime and calm companionship, I closely follow your instructions to keep your pet’s routine consistent, safe, and stress-free.

About: I am lucky because dogs continuously find their way into my life! My dog was a stray from Mississippi who wandered into my yard and my heart 11 years ago, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We eventually moved into a dog-friendly neighborhood, where I’ve become the unofficial neighborhood dog friend. I regularly pop in to visit and care for my neighbors’ pups because I love spending time with them. I’m also lucky enough to have a fenced-in backyard, which not many of my neighbors do, so they bring their dogs over for a good runaround. Having a neighbor pup show up for some backyard playtime is a highlight of my day! One of my favorite “jobs” was being the primary caretaker for my neighbor’s dog during their wedding. My mission was to make sure he got to be part of the celebration and watch his humans get married, while also making sure he was happy, comfortable, and was minimally distracting. I’ve cared for dogs of different ages, personalities, and needs, and I’m comfortable following each dog’s individual routine. I know how important it is to have someone you trust take care of your heart, I mean, dog. During the day, I work at a school and am CORI-checked, so being responsible, dependable, and trusted to care for others is a big part of my everyday life. In the evenings, I’m looking forward to trading my human students for some new pup friends! I’ll care for your dog with the same attention, affection, and respect I’d want someone to give my little pup! I work at a school in Beverly from 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., which leaves my afternoons, evenings, and weekends wide open for quality canine time. I’m an early riser, so morning walks are a highlight of my day before work. Spending time with dogs is already one of the best parts of my day, so adding walks, playtime, snuggles, and pet sitting to my regular routine feels less like a job and more like a vacation! I shower pups with love and attention! I also know that love looks different in every home and for every pup. Some dogs want ALL the snuggles, while others are happiest with a little space, a good walk, and their routine. You know your pup best, and I’m happy to follow whatever routines, habits, rules, and expectations there are from feeding and walks to bedtime rituals and favorite toys. My goal is to keep your dog feeling safe, happy, loved, and as comfortable as possible while their humans are away.
“Kara did a very nice job sitting for our two dogs at our house. Dogs were well taken care of, and the house was in perfect shape on our return. We will definitely use Kara again. Bob”

“Henry did a wonderful job caring for our two golden retrievers and our house over two weeks. He seems to really love dogs, and took them for walks and let them out (even at midnight) when they needed it. Also came back mid-day from work to check in on them. Very pleased, and would recommend Henry highly.”

“Katie took excellent of our dog. He had special feeding requirements, supplements and medicines that needed to be given at specific times. She met his needs, communicated clearly and overall was a true pet care professional.”

“Carol was fantastic. She stayed in our house for 3 nights and gave us daily updates with videos, pictures, and audio messages. She did a great job taking care of the creatures (including a high energy 7 month old puppy) and leaving the house clean. We highly recommend her!”

About: I've had two dogs of my own - one blind, and the other deaf. I am happy to manage your pet's quirks while we're having a great time together, too. Every pet needs something different, so I'll pay close attention to the details of your instructions. I'm also very focused on safety: leashes and familiar walks are a must! I am a teacher, so during the school year, I am available after 4:00pm to check in on your pet so everyone is happy when you arrive home. Also, I am booking now for summer - I would love to share my time off with your pets! I am a teacher during the school year, so my summer is wide open. I do enjoy visiting a few clients each day - it adds some structure to my own life! At my place, I have an air-conditioned apartment and a small porch where your pet and I can relax. We can take walks in the neighborhood or along the rail trail, located right across the street. Leashes and tags are always a must! In your home, I'll be sensitive to your pet's routines and habits around the house. Likewise, I'll be careful about your privacy and the condition of your home. In either location, we can agree on a timetable so you can expect pictures and updates of your special pet.

“I’m happy to add to the list of excellent reviews for Jakk! She took terrific care of our mini poodle, our two cats and our house while we were out of town. We came back to content animals, a tidy home, AND a fresh baked, delicious cinnamon sugar bread! Jakk also went the extra mile and took our dog to the groomer so I didn’t have to reschedule his appointment. She sent regular photos and videos and was very reachable, flexible, and responsive. At first I was anxious to leave our floofs with someone new to us, but it took about 30 seconds to realize Jakk loves animals and they love her back. We’re incredibly grateful for her work, kindness, and professionalism. What a delightful person and great animal sitter. Thank you!”

Kara was amazing! I have an 8 year old retired service dog that I was vacationing without for the first time. Kara helped me feel at ease and enjoy my time away without having to worry. She was super detail oriented and communicative. I came home to a clean, healthy, and very happy dog. Highly recommend!!

Jillian took great care of our senior dog for three overnights at our home. She asked all the right detailed questions about his care, and had no problem giving his medications. She also was a fantastic communicator, and made sure our dog got an extra bathroom break when our return was slightly delayed. We’re looking forward to her coming back soon!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manchester-by-the-Sea walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manchester-by-the-Sea maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manchester-by-the-Sea choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Manchester-by-the-Sea. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
