“Lauren was fantastic with Atlas. She was also very communicative with pics, updates, and asking questions when he got anxious about a party next door and how to best support him. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Jacklyn took great care of our two young (3mo and 1.5yr old), energetic pups! She made sure they got the exercise & enrichment they needed, as well as the calm, rest time. She left the house in perfect condition, and we came home to two happy, healthy girls!”

“Catherine was great! She arrived a little early to get familiar with dogs, routines and house and had a great way with the dogs. She is definitely an experienced dog sitter and the dogs seemed very comfortable with her. We plan to use her again and recommend her services.”

“Jessica is a dog-whisperer! Our dog Timba immediately fell in love with her. Jessica looked after our two "shell-shocked" dogs with love and care. They have recently been transplanted from abroad and have had a hard time living in a more "socialized"environment. Jessica's dog expertise offered them a calming caretaker and allowed them to settle into a new relationship over a couple of days. We are very happy to have found Jessica and highly recommend her.”

About: I am great with all dogs. I love taking care of them and enjoy taking them for walks just to see how happy they are to be outside and exploring nature. Depending on your dogs personality, I would be happy to play with them or if they prefer to hangout more quietly I’ll cuddle up with them while I complete schoolwork or watch a movie. My family has had dogs my entire life so I have a lot of experience taking care of dogs. Additionally, If your dog likes playing with other dogs, I have two that love to play! I would be happy to take them with me for walks, and give them new friends (and more importantly help them get rid of all that energy). My dogs don’t travel with me all the time so if your dog isn’t a fan of others I’ll make sure to leave them at home. My hope is to give your dog attention that will make them feel safe and cared for when you are not around.
“Henry did a wonderful job caring for our two golden retrievers and our house over two weeks. He seems to really love dogs, and took them for walks and let them out (even at midnight) when they needed it. Also came back mid-day from work to check in on them. Very pleased, and would recommend Henry highly.”

“We are very happy with the care Bella provided for Sonny when she spent the day/evening at our home. She genuinely loves dogs & quickly formed a bond with our little guy. We have already booked Bella for another stay and will continue to depend on her kind, loving & responsible pet care services!”

“Julia did an amazing job start to finish. Our booking was within 2 weeks and included a last minute adjustment to the reservation. She was extremely accommodating and sent us funny photos and updates during her stay with our dog. Highly recommend, thanks Julia!”

“We couldn’t say enough great things about Matt! He was beyond awesome. Not only did he take great care of our pups, communicate every step of the way but he also helped do some odds and ends around the house. We would highly recommend using Matt for your pup needs!”

“Laura was friendly, flexible with times and very warm with our dog. She played with our dog with dog puzzles on her own initiative and kept us posted with pictures and details throughout the evening. Laura has grown up around animals and is knowledgeable about them. I would certainly ask her to take care of our puppy again.”

“Wiktoria was great. She stayed at my cottage with my big dog (~100 lbs) for a weekend. I received updates through the weekend and went above & beyond to ensure Monty had a good time. Came back to a happy dog and clean cottage.”

“Sam was an amazing sitter for our 3 dogs and they loved her company so much. She watched the dogs while we had to travel far for a concert and she kept them loved and entertained until we returned. She is kind, sweet and clearly loves our dogs. She updated us with photos and kept us up to date frequently. We will hire her again without question!”

About: I've had pets my whole life, so caring for them has always come naturally to me. I treat every pet like they're my own and understand how important it is for owners to feel at ease while they're away. I've helped friends and family with their pets over the years, and I know every animal has their own personality and comfort level. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind. Since I work from home, pets are rarely left alone and receive plenty of supervision, attention, and potty breaks throughout the day. Whether your pet is working on potty training, crate training, or following a specific routine, I’m happy to help keep things consistent while they’re in my care. I provide a safe, clean, calm, and smoke-free environment. While I don’t have a fenced yard, dogs receive regular walks, potty breaks, and exercise based on their individual needs and energy levels. For privacy and safety reasons, I don’t offer home tours.
About: I have never taken care of another person's dog, but I love taking care of mine. I have experience training and taking care of my own dog, having taught her many tricks, and I have a good understanding of animals and how they behave. I have lots of free time this summer, so my schedule is very open during the day all days of the week! I am willing and open to watching pets for a full day, especially if it is close by! I am very proactive in taking care of pets, and I am very diligent about making sure my pets are healthy and are getting all the resources they need. In case of emergency, I am good at improvising on the fly, but you can also expect full and direct communication from me on anything amiss.

About: Animals have always held a special place in my heart and I am committed to providing every pet with the same love, care and attention that I would give my own. I have been working as a pet sitter for 6 years and worked with animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities from bearded dragons and clingy cats to Chihuahuas and Newfoundlands. I also have experience administering medications like insulin, subcutaneous fluids and other medications during my stay. I understand the importance of following routines closely and ensuring that the pets and their parents are comfortable and stress-free. Additionally, I have volunteered at the shelter during college for a couple of months working with animals with different backgrounds and temperaments. As a cat mom of 3 I understand first hand how important it is to find a dependable, compassionate pet sitter you can trust whether it is companionship, a walk or playtime I will provide the best care I can for your animals. Currently I am working towards getting my second degree in nursing but I am still committed to providing reliable and attentive pet care and can work around my schedule whether it is waking up extra early for a morning walk or extra playtime when my school day is over. I can only pet sit at the clients house as I have pets of my own but their routine will still be followed including daily medications. I understand that this is a stressful time for both pet and owner so I focus on providing the best care I can give and will give regular updates for a stress free environment. Please note that I am only comfortable caring for indoor cats. For safety reasons, I do not allow outdoor cats outside while they are under my care and ask that they remain indoors during the duration of my visits or stay.
“Peach stayed at our condo for 1 week and took great care of our cat and home. She entertained him, gave him lots of love and cuddles and he felt super comfortable with her from the start. The entire time she sent pictures and videos and gave us updates. She was flexible with a last minute change and communicated well from the beginning. She also left our place spotless.”

“Carina is a lovely responsible young woman. She is timely, communicates well with updates and pictures and left the house in perfect condition. She met my neighbor after my pup Libby wandered “thru” the fence to their yard and reacted immediately and apologetically to my neighbor. They also told me they were super impressed with her and were so happy to meet Carina! I hope she is free to watch Libby again in the near future!”

“Katie took excellent of our dog. He had special feeding requirements, supplements and medicines that needed to be given at specific times. She met his needs, communicated clearly and overall was a true pet care professional.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ipswich walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ipswich maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ipswich choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ipswich. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
