About: I have a weiner dog named Benny whom I raised and trained since he was a puppy. I’ve cared for puppies post-neuter/spay surgery as well as walking and caring for injured dogs. I have experience administering medication to dogs and cats. I’ve housesat for friends to care for their cats and have lived with and cared for a cat for over 3 years. I love animals and I’m passionate about their well-being and quality of life. I know every animal is unique, and needs to be approached with that in mind. I’m currently working part time in the evenings for a couple hours so I have early morning to late afternoon available. I also have availability on weekends. I’ve spent time with many different kinds of pets and I feel confident that after spending a little time with yours, I’ll understand how they want to be approached and cared for. I raised my dog since he was a puppy and took part in his training so I feel confident with dogs of any age. I’ve spent many years around cats and know their mannerisms and the quiet language that they use to communicate. I’m meticulous and careful when walking dogs since I raised mine in NYC; I understand how to keep their attention and be firm when necessary to keep them safe and attentive on their walks. I want you to come home to a pet that is happy and healthy, above all.
“Jennifer was wonderful! She was very attentive, communicative, and took great care of our three boys while we were away. She sent tons of photos and made sure to keep us updated, which was very appreciated. We would definitely recommend!!”

“I’m happy to add to the list of excellent reviews for Jakk! She took terrific care of our mini poodle, our two cats and our house while we were out of town. We came back to content animals, a tidy home, AND a fresh baked, delicious cinnamon sugar bread! Jakk also went the extra mile and took our dog to the groomer so I didn’t have to reschedule his appointment. She sent regular photos and videos and was very reachable, flexible, and responsive. At first I was anxious to leave our floofs with someone new to us, but it took about 30 seconds to realize Jakk loves animals and they love her back. We’re incredibly grateful for her work, kindness, and professionalism. What a delightful person and great animal sitter. Thank you!”

“Jeanne was very communicative and knowledgeable about our cat’s medical needs. I trusted her wholeheartedly to stay with and take wonderful care of our senior cat.”

“Lauren was fantastic with Atlas. She was also very communicative with pics, updates, and asking questions when he got anxious about a party next door and how to best support him. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Peach took wonderful care of our fur babies for over a week. Peach was dedicated and attentive to the pups and in addition to giving the pups lots of love and attention she took great care of the house as well. Peach is a great communicator and sweet to work with, highly recommend!”

About: i am a parent to one big boy cat named Kemper! I grew up owning dogs and kittens and have never been able to live without a pet. My cat may possibly be my best friend and i’m okay with it but we could use a break sometimes from real people. I have watched pets for friends/ co workers/ family for multiple years and have completed training for dogs with aggression in the past. Watching others pets keeps me for trying to adopt every pet i see! I work at an autism day program M-F from 8:30-4pm so I have morning and nights available for whatever care is needed for every individual pet! I have had pets with health issues so I am super accommodating to their needs. My cat is extremely affectionate so attention needy animals are welcomed!
“Laura was friendly, flexible with times and very warm with our dog. She played with our dog with dog puzzles on her own initiative and kept us posted with pictures and details throughout the evening. Laura has grown up around animals and is knowledgeable about them. I would certainly ask her to take care of our puppy again.”

“Kaitlyn was a great sitter for our Rosie. She even left me notes of the medication times and dates. She was on time and sent photo updates. We will happily rebook Kaitlyn in the future.”

“On time and very communicative! She was very attentive and let us know when one of the dogs got sick. Our boys loved hanging out with Branka for the day and would love to play with her again!”

About: I have grown up with dogs/cats all my life and don’t know what I would do with out them.I enjoy all animals and will be very flexible with everyone’s schedules! I enjoy spending time and playing with dogs/cats of any size. I have been dog sitting and walking for family and friends for years. I have allways been reliable with any task given to me and will never cancel or be Iresponsible with your dogs. I recently moved to mount pleasant in September and am loving it! My schedule is pretty flexible so I can attend to your pets needs! I have grown up with pets and love them with all my heart. I currently have a large dog named kiko! She is my everything and we have a very strict routine. My day starts early between 6am-7 with a 40 minute walk/off leash running which sets both mine and her day up for success. She all-ways eats at the same time and has enrichment toys throughout the day to keep her anxiety levels down and ease stress. We end our day with another “sniff” walk then snuggle on the couch together with a late night let out to end the night.

“Sasha is great! We chose her because of her great reviews and repeat customers. Our dog is elderly and needs a lot of attention. We were able to go away for the weekend and know he was in good hands with Sasha.”

“Benjamin was a wonderful dog-sitter! He was very easy to communicate with, was attentive and on top of our dog's needs, and became our dog's best friend when we were gone!”

About: I've been around animals my whole life. I grew up with dogs, and these days I'm often the person friends and family call when they need someone to look after their pets. I've spent plenty of time walking dogs, feeding them, playing with them, and making sure they're well cared for while their owners are away. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, including larger, high-energy breeds. I enjoy getting to know each animal's personality and building trust with them. I've even trained my own cats to do tricks and respond to commands using positive reinforcement. Taking care of animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I take the responsibility seriously because I know how much people's pets mean to them. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, which gives me the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits, and pet care throughout the day. Outside of work, taking care of animals has always been a regular part of my life, whether that's spending time with my own pets or helping friends and family with theirs. Because I work a consistent schedule and plan my time carefully, I can be reliable and punctual when it comes to pet care. I enjoy getting outside for walks and spending time with animals, so it's something I genuinely look forward to rather than trying to squeeze into a busy schedule. I try to keep things as close to the pet's normal routine as possible. When I'm caring for a pet in their home, I follow the owner's instructions and make sure they're getting everything they need, whether that's walks, meals, playtime, medications, or just some company while their owner is away. I pay attention to each animal's personality and body language and adjust my approach accordingly. Some pets want lots of attention and activity, while others are happier with a quieter approach and a little extra patience. I'm comfortable with both. Safety is always important to me. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, and I keep an eye out for anything that seems out of the ordinary. My goal is to make sure pets are comfortable, well cared for, and as stress-free as possible while their owners are away. I make sure that I'm always available, and communication is a huge priority for me
“We had a great experience leaving our dogs, cat, and home in Annie's care! She was communicative and shared lots of photos but also gave us the freedom to enjoy our time away. The animals seemed to enjoy their time with her and the house was in great shape when we came home. Really all you can ask for! We look forward to using Annie's services again in the future.”

“Asia took wonderful care of my Yorkie over the course of two days this week. She is friendly, diligent, professional, communicative, and very kind. Your pet could not possibly be in a better hands. She has a great love for animals and it shows in her work.”

“We recently moved to the area and we were worried about leaving our 4 year old Great Pyr with a pet sitter. We contacted Gina to take care of her in our home for an overnight. Gina was wonderful & warm and gave our girl lots of exercise and attention. She even took her to a softball game! Gina checked in on her a few days later because I was going to take her to the vet for an ear infection. We will definitely contact Gina again!”

About: Family, Friends, and even more have looked to me and my home for their pet sitting from vacations to nights out. Tender loving care and I work from home and typically have my pets around me in my office that's attached to a porch that leeds down a deck into a huge fenced backyard. I'm able to tend to, clean, feed, and play with on demand and plus, a little play time always helps detress! In my home, everything from feeding to caring to brushing/bathes, and play time! Over night they have options to sleep alone or with me, I have beds of all sizes and crate if the owner prefers they sleep there. Very adaptable to owners needs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Newbury
We just had Caitlyn stay with our two dogs for over a week while we were away and couldn’t be happier when we returned home to two happy pups. One of our dogs is 13 years old and needs a lot of dedicated attention and care to make sure he eats and Caitlyn did a wonderful job doing so. We received daily updates and pictures and never had a doubt how they were doing while we were away. Would highly recommend Caitlyn and will certainly hire her again!
Katherine did a fantastic job taking care of my two Ridgebacks. She came before her scheduled stay to meet the dogs and let me know when she arrived and was leaving. She stayed in my house since my older dog needs overnight outdoor breaks. I was tentative having someone I did not know stay at my house and she was great and neat. She was attentive and thoughtful. She kept me up to date of how both pups were doing over the stay and sent lots of pictures. Would definitely have her watch my pups again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 4,707 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Newbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Newbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Newbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Newbury. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
