“Julie and her family have been taking amazing care of Luca a few days a week for me while I adjust to a new work schedule. They really love him and treat him like their own. I love seeing pictures from their outings and walks! Luca is always excited to see them when I drop him off! As a new puppy mom I was nervous to leave him with anyone but Julie and her family made me feel so at ease. Would 10/10 recommend their services!”

“Kristin and Bobby watched our dog with a last minute call when we were vacationing in the Boston area. When we took our dog in the morning they came out to meet us and made sure that our dog was comfortable with them and their home. Our dog took right to both them and their dog. During the day my dog was exercised, fed and played with. I was very happy with our experience and would highly recommend them if you need a dog sitter.”

“Elizabeth was outstanding. She has a genuine love for animals . My dog took instantly to her warm and friendly personality. She has a beautiful fenced in yard for the dogs to run freely. We felt very comfortable keaving our dog with Elizabeth.”
“Rose has been great for us and more importantly for Roy this week. She has a great location that allows for plenty of outdoor activity and has a friendly dog of her own that loves to play. This was perfect for our Doberman puppy. Highly recommended”

“Mac had a wonderful day with Robert and his pups. He had never been to a dog sitter before so we were a bit anxious about leaving him. We had a meet and greet before the day visit and when Mac got to Bob’s house on the day of the visit, Mac remembered that it was a place with people that he liked. Bob’s updates through the day made us rest easy that Mac was being well cared for. We loved the report card and pictures that we got at the end of the visit. We look forward to our next booking with Bob.”

“My dog had a great time at Shelby’s house and big back yard. Shelby was very communicative and posted lots of pictures during the stay. When I’m back in the area I will definitely book again!”

I'm available most weekends and evenings. I can check in on your pet during the day as well to walk when needed. I have a nice yard and easily accessible sidewalk and trails to walk your pet frequently and when necessary. Your pet would be treated like family.
“Our dog had a great stay with Lisa! It was so nice to be able to leave him with someone with a lot of dog experience and clearly a lot of love for dogs. Our dog got along great with her dog. We would absolutely have him stay with Lisa again.”

“Rosie is having so much fun with Brooke and Willow! Every picture Brooke sends shows Rosie looking happy as a clam and she’s super excited in the morning when she realizes she’s at Willow’s house. Thanks for wearing her out!!!”
“Diana is absolutely fantastic! She took great care of my 9yr old with multiple walks, playing with her 1yr old, and letting him supervise as she worked from home. Despite their age differences, the old man and the youngster seemed to get along swimmingly. Diana is a terrific and prompt communicator, and sent multiple (gorgeous) pics and video. Astro was grinning in each and every one.”

“Lupa had a great time with Jing and her family!! I received pictures of him and updates during his stay and I felt at ease knowing he is having a great time playing with his doggy friends and being taken great care of. I will definitely book again when I need a sitter for him!”

“Jade watched my two pups with very different needs (one is small, 15 years old; the other is 1.5 yo husky mix) for the day as we were going through town on a road trip. We needed somewhere for the pups to be while we did a non-dog friendly day. Jade was super responsive and accommodating. The dogs happily walked off with her without any hesitation (I trust them to read the situation). She asked good questions about their care, entertained the pup during the day by introducing her to a doggy walking pad inside since it was extremely hot out. She also quickly and easily accommodated an earlier pick up when we finished up early. While we aren’t local to use her again, I would do it if the need arises. Much better than a kennel! Pups were happy when we picked up.”

About: I love being surrounded by animals and have been around pets my entire life. For a long time now, I’ve been rescuing lost dogs and helping them find safe, loving homes. Currently, I have three dogs and a cat at my country house, as well as a 10-year-old senior dog at home. One of my dogs in the countryside is partially blind, and I'm the one who takes care of his special needs. This has given me great hands-on experience with senior and special-needs pet care. Spanish is my native language, and my home is fully bilingual! My kids are completely fluent in English and are always here to help with communication for all booking details and updates. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine because I am at home all day. My daily life revolves around taking care of my dog, maintaining our home, and waiting for my husband and children to return from work and school. Currently, my daughter is starting college this August, so I am looking for extra income to help pay for her tuition. This work is a perfect match for me because it naturally aligns with my everyday schedule, allowing me to give visiting pets full-time attention, love, and constant companionship. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. Since I spend my entire day at home, your pet will have constant presence and attention, a safe outdoor space, quiet walks and specialized care experience.
“Chelsea watched our 4 month old puppy for the day and did a fantastic job. Our dog was comfortable being left with Chelsea and she sent us photos throughout the day to keep us updated on how things were going. We will definitely be reaching out to Chelsea again in the future to watch our pup!”

“Lorraine and her family are awesome! She updated me with pictures and videos throughout my pup’s stay and I felt he was in a very safe and happy environment. We will definitely be working with Lorraine again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 2,143 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Newbury. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Newbury commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,143 sitters in Newbury, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
