“Julie and her family have been taking amazing care of Luca a few days a week for me while I adjust to a new work schedule. They really love him and treat him like their own. I love seeing pictures from their outings and walks! Luca is always excited to see them when I drop him off! As a new puppy mom I was nervous to leave him with anyone but Julie and her family made me feel so at ease. Would 10/10 recommend their services!”

“Gracie seemed to love Mike at first sight! And the feeling was mutual. Mike gives great communication all around, his lovely home and enclosed yard is the perfect setting for my high energy pup.”

“Kristin and Bobby watched our dog with a last minute call when we were vacationing in the Boston area. When we took our dog in the morning they came out to meet us and made sure that our dog was comfortable with them and their home. Our dog took right to both them and their dog. During the day my dog was exercised, fed and played with. I was very happy with our experience and would highly recommend them if you need a dog sitter.”

“Rose has been great for us and more importantly for Roy this week. She has a great location that allows for plenty of outdoor activity and has a friendly dog of her own that loves to play. This was perfect for our Doberman puppy. Highly recommended”

“My dog had a great time at Shelby’s house and big back yard. Shelby was very communicative and posted lots of pictures during the stay. When I’m back in the area I will definitely book again!”

“Elizabeth was outstanding. She has a genuine love for animals . My dog took instantly to her warm and friendly personality. She has a beautiful fenced in yard for the dogs to run freely. We felt very comfortable keaving our dog with Elizabeth.”

“Our Tasha had a full day with Kat and her adorable Reggie. Kat was very flexible, thoughtful, and accommodating. I would definitely recommend her service. Thank you for taking her out on the beach! She had a blast!”

“This was our first time using Rover, and I have to say that if everyone on here is as superb as Carolyn then we will be lucky. Carolyn could not have made our experience better, she was responsive, caring, and did a fantastic job watching Kenzie! Thank you Carolyn”

“Mac had a wonderful day with Robert and his pups. He had never been to a dog sitter before so we were a bit anxious about leaving him. We had a meet and greet before the day visit and when Mac got to Bob’s house on the day of the visit, Mac remembered that it was a place with people that he liked. Bob’s updates through the day made us rest easy that Mac was being well cared for. We loved the report card and pictures that we got at the end of the visit. We look forward to our next booking with Bob.”

About: I’m a licensed veterinarian in Brazil and I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life. My father is a huge dog lover, so I grew up helping care for our family pets from a very young age. In Brazil, I had four dogs who are now happily living with my parents. Here in the U.S., I have my sweet mini Goldendoodle, Madalena, who is very friendly and loves having company. Because of my background in Veterinary Medicine and my lifelong experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities, I feel very confident providing safe, responsible, and attentive care. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I work at a coffee shop from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. After 3:30 p.m., I’m fully available for pet care, including walks, drop-in visits, and overnight house sitting. On Sundays and Mondays, I’m off from work and available all day for boarding, daycare, and other services. Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I offer a calm, clean, and cozy home environment where pets can relax, play, and feel secure. My mini Goldendoodle, Madalena, is very friendly and gentle, which helps visiting dogs feel more comfortable and welcomed. Whether your pet stays in my home or I care for them in yours, I always follow their routine exactly as instructed—feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and rest. I’m very attentive to body language and behavior to make sure each dog feels safe, respected, and stress-free. I provide constant supervision when I’m home, lots of love and positive interaction, and a peaceful space where dogs can settle in comfortably. My goal is to make every pet feel like part of the family.
About: Dogs, and Cats aren’t just pets in my home—they’re family! My twin brother and I have had dogs our whole lives, and we’re absolutely obsessed with them. In our house, your pup will be surrounded by love, care, and constant attention. Since most of my classes are online, my brother works night shifts, and my husband works during the day, there’s always someone home to make sure your furry friend is safe, happy, and cared for 24/7. I feel so lucky to have their support because, let’s be real—life loves to throw surprises our way! But no matter what, your pup will always be in good hands. And if you ask my family, they’d say they’re totally jealous because I get to spend the most time with the doggies! 🐾💖 From fun walks to cozy snuggles, I make sure every dog feels right at home while their humans are away. I can’t wait to meet your fur baby and give them all the love they deserve! Having transitioned from a career in law to pursuing my passion in nursing school, I now have a flexible schedule with most of my classes being remote. This allows me ample time to dedicate to your pups, ensuring they receive plenty of play and care. I’m available for dog boarding on both weekends and weekdays, providing a reliable and loving environment for your furry friends while you’re away. Ensuring the safety and well-being of your pet is my top priority. Whether in your home or mine, I provide a secure and nurturing environment tailored to your pet’s needs: Safety First: I make sure that your home is pet-proofed, eliminating any hazards. For outdoor activities, I use secure leashes and ensure that gates and fences are properly closed. Personalized Care: I follow your specific instructions for diet, exercise, and routines to ensure a consistent and comfortable experience. Regular updates are provided, and I am always available to address any concerns. Trustworthy Environment: At my home, your pet will be welcomed into a warm and loving space. My sweet and playful Bernedoodle, Sophie, is friendly and makes a great companion. If your dog prefers not to be around other dogs, we have the flexibility to have Sophie accompany my husband to work, ensuring your pet has a quiet and undisturbed environment. Emergency Preparedness: I am trained in basic pet first aid and have a plan in place for any unexpected situations, prioritizing your pet's health and safe. With my experience and dedication, along with Sophie’s friendly nature, you can trust that your pet will receive the highest level of care and affection while you’re away.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Newbury Old Town commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
