About: I have two Australian Shepherds of my own, so I know firsthand how much love, attention, exercise, and care dogs need! I have years of hands on experience caring for dogs, including walks, feeding, playtime, and daily attention. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. Since I work remotely, I have a flexible schedule and would love the opportunity to spend more time with your furry friends! I work remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to be available for pet care throughout the week. I’m reliable, communicative, and happy to work with your schedule to make sure your pets get the care and attention they need. I’m also available for walks, drop ins, and other pet care needs! Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure your dog feels safe and well cared for. I’m attentive, reliable, and happy to send updates while you’re away.
“Grace really helped us out in a pinch ! Our sitter Couldn’t sit last minute and Grace happily came by met our kitty and was able to watch her while we traveled to visit family. Grace communicated well and sent pics of our kitty through the trip. Our house was just as we left it when we came back and kitty was happy! She also cared for our guinea pig! Thanks so much Grace :-)”
“As someone dog sits myself, I am very particular about who we trust to watch our pups. This is our second time having Kaitlyn sit for the girls and we feel so, so grateful to have found her. She is very trustworthy, responsible, and caring. I know they are in the best hands with Kaitlyn and the girls are already looking forward to seeing her again in June!”

“Michelle and David are our favorite pet sitters! We get regular updates and pictures and upon our return the house is in wonderful condition. They give us such peace of mind while we are away and go above and beyond our expectations. I can’t recommend them enough and our fur babies love them too!”

“Jeanne was wonderful! We planned a summer trip before we even knew we were getting a puppy, so we were nervous about leaving her behind at only 6 months old. Jeanne came to the house ahead of time to meet our puppy and understand our needs and Coco's routines. During her stay at our house, she sent us updates and pictures, and we knew that Coco was in good hands! I would book with Jeanne again, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants their dog to feel loved while they are away!”

About: You're going away, and the only one more anxious than your pup watching you pack a suitcase, is you, wondering who will take care of them with just as much love and care as you would. That would be me (and my husband and two dog obsessed toddlers)! There are people who like dogs, and then there are dog people. We're the latter! I’ve had dogs in my family my whole life, and cared for dogs through Rover and for friends for over 12 years. I have experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and health needs, and feel comfortable providing medication. After taking a long Rover maternity leave, we're ready to welcome dogs back into our home. Pups coming into our care MUST be good with young kids (ours are 4.5 & 3) and fully house trained. My husband and I both work in schools, so weekdays we are typically home by 3/3:30pm. When the weather is nice, we try to spend as much time outside in the afternoon with our kids in our huge fenced in yard. During school vacation weeks and weekends, we are almost always home, or adventuring nearby to find walking trails, playgrounds, or other outdoor/dog friendly spaces. I always want to replicate what they’re familiar with while you’re away so that they are as comfortable as possible. This will look different for every dog, and we are flexible to that. Safety is a massive priority for our family, as it is just as important for us that your dog and we enjoy their stay. Dogs are never left unattended in our fenced in back yard - my husband or I will always be outside monitoring them. Baby gates separate the kitchen/dining area from the living room/play room area, and used when dogs are eating or if our kids/dog are getting overstimulated and could use a break. We never let the dog off leash if we take them to a public park or walking trail. We do not go to dog parks.
“Janine is a super star when it comes to taking care and watching our sweet cat, Murphy. We get lots of updates and pics/videos while we're away, which allows us to relax, knowing she is in such great hands. We always come home to a happy kitty and our house always looks great. Thank you Janine!”

“Carina was amazing! She watched Oliver for the day on super short notice and was so great with him. She sent pictures and updates throughout the day, which I really appreciated. Oliver seemed so happy and well taken care of. I would definitely have Carina watch Oliver again and highly recommend her!”

“Angelia responded to a last minute request to sit our three dogs for a day in our AirBnB while on vacation so we could take a day trip to Boston. She came early to meet the dogs and get acquainted with them and was great with them. By the time we returned even the Chihuahua, who is very slow to accept strangers, was won over. Would highly recommend Angelia.”

“Jacklyn took great care of our two young (3mo and 1.5yr old), energetic pups! She made sure they got the exercise & enrichment they needed, as well as the calm, rest time. She left the house in perfect condition, and we came home to two happy, healthy girls!”

“Lauren was fantastic with Atlas. She was also very communicative with pics, updates, and asking questions when he got anxious about a party next door and how to best support him. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Jamie took great care of our dog. She was communicative and was able to help us out last minute. Callie seemed to have a great time and felt very comfortable with Jamie. We will definitely rebook!”

“Laura was friendly, flexible with times and very warm with our dog. She played with our dog with dog puzzles on her own initiative and kept us posted with pictures and details throughout the evening. Laura has grown up around animals and is knowledgeable about them. I would certainly ask her to take care of our puppy again.”

I work from home so I’m home majority of the day- I leave for some meetings randomly but not for too long. We are members at a great dog park in NH that we take our dogs to often especially with nicer weather! We have two dogs- A 3 year old Bernadoodle and a 2 year old long haired chihuahua. Both very friendly with other animals! We also have a 10 month Mancoon Cat who loves playing with the dogs and acts like a dog herself! We have been caring for animals for a long time and we welcome all types of animals into our loving family! We give our dogs a lot of attention and we will do the same with yours! I work from home and my job is very flexible. I will be home majority of the time and will be able to give a lot of attention and love! I have a full fenced in yard! I have a screened in porch also that provides some outside time when not in the yard! It’s a very safe area!
“Peach was so incredibly wonderful to have stay with our animals. Her warm energy, her commitment and communication allowed us to enjoy our time away knowing our animals were in great hands. Our animals instantly bonded with Peach and truly had such a great time with her! She played with Lou (our cat) and walked Yucca (our dog). We will absolutely be booking with Peach again!”

About: I’ve had dogs since young and I’ve loved to train them and work with them. I also really enjoy talking dogs for walks because it is super peaceful and fun. I am currently a college student who is already active. I go for runs at least 3 times a week and can incorporate more walks into my routine. I will abide by the clients rules and how they walk their animal. I also will try to create a bond with the pet so they want to go with me or allow me in their home.

“Isabella took amazing care of our 3 cats! When their auto feeder stopped working suddenly she was able to swing by in the morning to fix it. We loved the check ins and photos we received giving us piece of mind that are fur babies were well cared for. 10/10 would book again!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Newbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Newbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Newbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
