“Annie and Rosie had a great stay with Salish. They came home happy and I could tell they were loved just as they would have been at home. I am so happy Salish took care of them, made my week away so much more enjoyable.”

“We love having Luna stay with Jessica! We rest easy knowing that she is well cared for and having fun. Jessica is responsive to Luna’s individual needs and it is clear Luna loves staying with her. We will definitely use Jessica again in the future!”

“From our very first meeting, I could tell Sylwia was special! She took so much time and care to get to know our pup Lucy, understand her, and ensure that Lucy would be comfortable and successful during her stay with Sylwia. She was incredibly thoughtful and overall provided a fantastic experience- sending updates throughout the day, making sure that we are comfortable as well. Would absolutely recommend Sylwia!”

“Our yellow lab seemed to enjoy the company and care at Lindsay's house. He moved right in to share her dog's bed and apparently made himself right at home. The photos that Lindsay sent us showed him relaxing during his "camp" weekend at her house. This was our first time using Lindsay's services and it was a great success!”

“Leaving our dog with a sitter through Rover for the first time was very nerve wracking but Joshua reassured us from the meet and greet to the very end of our vacation. He sent us updates everyday and communication was top tier. I would book with Joshua again. Highly recommend!”

“Veska took wonderful care of our 7 year old lab. He was made to feel a part of her family. He got lots of love and exercise. Veska took the time to send many daily updates with pictures. I highly recommend her services.”

“Daniela took amazing care of Dobby while we were away. She sent great updates and from each picture and video it was easy to tell that Dobby was having a great time playing in the yard and hanging out with Daniela and her family. Glad Dobby was able to be with a safe and caring family while we were gone!”

About: We provide a calm, loving, and personalized environment for one household at a time. Our home is currently pet free, which allows us to give each dog our full attention in a peaceful and low stress setting. Since there are usually two adults at home and one of us works a hybrid schedule, there is almost always someone home to provide companionship, supervision, affection, playtime, and frequent potty breaks throughout the day. Dogs have always been an important part of our lives, and caring for them is something we genuinely love and enjoy. We understand how important it is for dogs to feel safe, comfortable, and emotionally secure when away from their family. Having experienced life with our own beloved dog through every stage of life, including senior care and medical needs, we understand how important patience, routine, comfort, and trust truly are. We have experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines, and we truly enjoy spending quality time with them through play, affection, walks, and companionship. Because we only host one family at a time, we are able to create a more relaxed and personalized experience where dogs can receive individual attention and feel more at home. We also value communication and know how reassuring updates can be while away from your pet, so we always strive to provide regular updates, photos, and attentive care throughout each stay. We highly value meet and greets beforehand to help ensure that our home is the right fit and that each dog feels comfortable, safe, and welcomed. We are happy to communicate in either English or Spanish to help families feel as comfortable as possible. Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine since our schedules allow for someone to usually be home throughout the day. This allows us to provide frequent supervision, companionship, potty breaks, playtime, affection, and consistent attention during each stay. We enjoy maintaining a calm and structured environment where dogs can feel comfortable, relaxed, and part of the family. We understand that every dog has different routines, personalities, and comfort levels, so we do our best to help them feel safe, settled, and emotionally comfortable while away from home. Because we only host one household at a time, we are able to dedicate more individualized care, quality time, attention, and companionship to each dog throughout the day. Safety, supervision, and communication are very important to us. We are very mindful of each dog’s routine, comfort level, feeding schedule, potty schedule, exercise needs, and any instructions provided by their family. We understand that every dog adjusts differently to new environments, so we always try to create a positive and comfortable transition while respecting their personality, boundaries, and pace. We also value consistency and communication, and we make sure pet parents receive regular updates and photos throughout each stay so they can feel reassured while away. Before confirming a booking, we highly value meet and greets to help ensure that our home is the right fit and that everyone feels comfortable, safe, and confident moving forward.

“Julia was amazing with our puppy and went above and beyond to take care of him as well as to keep us up to date with how everything was going, would highly recommend her to anyone”

“I’m a person who has a lot of difficulty trusting someone with my dogs- I’m very close with them. I’m positive many of the folks reading this review can say the same. It can be difficult to find someone trustworthy, reliable, and communicative. It can be even more difficult to find someone who is all of those things AND is excellent with dogs. My family has hit the absolute jackpot with Karen’s services. Our older dog has separation anxiety, takes medication, and needs a consistent presence to be successful. We never had to doubt whether Karen could fill these needs for him, and she’s delivered every time. Our younger dog has a lot of energy and has to be let out frequently- Karen’s flexibility and home/yard are perfect to meet those needs. Karen sent us pictures and videos throughout each of my dogs’ stays and provided detailed updates as to how they are doing. We will absolutely be back again, we can’t recommend her enough! 6/5 stars!”

“Cherie was a wonderful host for our dog, Hudson! She kept me updated with notes and pictures throughout the week we were away on vacation. Her family was so kind and responsive and I had no doubts that Hudson was receiving the best care! I would absolutely recommend Cherie to anyone looking for a safe and happy environment for their pet.”

“We had an excellent experience with Kathy. This was our first time boarding our dog as well as our first time using Rover and Kathy did an excellent job communicating with us - taking the time to learn about our dog as well as thoroughly explaining her set up. She clearly has lots of experience with all kinds of dogs - we even learned some tips from her- AND most importantly our dog had a great time!! We loved the videos she sent also.”

“We left our almost 2 year old husky with Gabriel for the weekend and have no regrets. He was extremely prompt when contacted for booking. He was very welcoming when we stopped by for a visit prior to booking and our dog loved him right away. During our vacation he sent us videos and made sure Rocky’s needs were met. We will definitely book Gabriel again when needing boarding care.”

“Monica was great with Champ. I would highly recommend her and will be booking with her again. She was great at keeping us informed about Champ. She also sent us pictures that help us while we were away on vacation.”

“Leyani was great, her kids loved our dog too. I would not hesitate to leave Brewster with their family in the future. She sent us daily pictures of our dog and we could tell he was happy and relaxed. They have a nice fenced yard and took Brewster to the dog park as well.”

“Andrea watched our Golden for over two weeks. She really helped us out in a pinch. Lots of pictures and updates!! We were a little bit nervous because our pup gets anxious but Andrea put our minds at ease. Our dog came back very, very happy! We will absolutely use Andrea again. Thank you for taking such great care of our doggo!!”
“Michael and his family were great!! Our Golden Jaxson came home super happy!! He sent multiple update pics and was very responsive!! Felt so at ease Knowing Michael was caring for Jaxson! 🐾”

“This was our first time leaving the pups anywhere with anyone other than family, and we left them for 3 days and nights over President's Day Weekend when we went up north. We chose Thea based on the excellent reviews and also availability. I brought the dogs over to meet her and Karma, her dog, and my dogs seemed comfortable there right away. My dogs, who are 65-75 pound puppies, can be quite rowdy, but to my surprise, they were calmed by the other dogs' energy. Even when we stopped by for a meet and greet, they made themselves at home by finding a cozy place to lounge and chew on a toy. Throughout the weekend, other dogs came and went, and our pups seemed to get along with all of them. It was very refreshing and Thea was very accommodating. She brought them to the dog park, on walks, and even an excursion to the beach, which we hadn't been quite brave enough to try yet ourselves. We definitely have our hands full with these two, and she has reassured us that we are doing a good job with them. We feel like we made a great choice sending our dogs to Dorothea.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
