“Joshua, you were fantastic with my dog Slippy for the full 10 days. From the very beginning, I could tell how much care and attention you gave him. The regular updates and sweet photos meant the world to me and let me truly relax on my trip. Slippy came home happy, energetic, and clearly well-loved. I so grateful for everything you did. Thank you so much, Joshua — I would happily trust you with Slippy again anytime!”

“My husband and I were a little nervous about leaving our puppy for an overnight with a stranger. We had only ever left our dog with family before. But after meeting Andrea, she put our minds at ease. It is clear Andrea is very passionate about dogs and has two really great pups of her own. She treated our puppy, Winnie, like she was one of the family. Andrea was was quick to respond to all of our messages and very flexible about pick-up and drop-off times. We loved getting lots of updates on Winnie, and it was clear from the pictures she was right at home with Andrea. We love Andrea, and would 10/10 recommend her.”

“Excellent experience. Thank you Ashley for being so accommodating and easy to work with. All of the dogs in your care seem happy and content. I know Brady loved his walks with you. We’ll be back next summer!”

“Salish was a fantastic sitter for our pup. When we ran into a travel delay, she kindly accommodated our request to extend his stay for another night. We felt so comfortable knowing he was in great hands. Thank you, Salish!”

“We just came back from a wonderful Christmas - New Year's trip, and Tux spent seven nights with Faith and her family. We cannot say enough about how Faith handled the whole stay, and we will DEFINITELY book Tux to stay with her again! Faith made herself available for a "meet and greet" with Tux about a week before we were leaving on our trip. She was very attentive to Tux, and we were impressed with her fenced in yard and welcoming home. We were flying out early on the day after Christmas, so Faith had no problem with our dropping off Tux around 7pm on Christmas night. She was also accommodating about the pick up time on New Year's Day. While we were away, Faith sent me several messages and pictures about Tux and how he was doing. Needless to say, I'm not sure who was having more fun: Tux with his new friends at Faith's home?!?! or us on our tropical vacation!?!? We will definitely book Faith again to take care of Tux. She was very professional, and Tux seemed very happy during his time with Faith and her family.”

“Jing, made this experience a very positive one. I hadn’t left my 2yr old Zuchon previous to this. I felt very reassured for the duration my fur baby was in her home. My pet enjoyed the doggy day camp, and will continue to use Jing whenever possible. Thanks Rover!”

“I couldn't have for a better sitter. Julia was so communicative, sending frequent pictures and updates. Jake had such a good time and we trust Julia and her family to take care of him.”

“Cherie was very communicative and flexible with timings. Sent me photos of Ralphie and he definitely looked very happy staying with her. Will use her services again in the future.”

“Daniela took amazing care of Dobby while we were away. She sent great updates and from each picture and video it was easy to tell that Dobby was having a great time playing in the yard and hanging out with Daniela and her family. Glad Dobby was able to be with a safe and caring family while we were gone!”

“Shana was truly an exceptional sitter and we feel so lucky to have found her. From the moment we arrived, it was clear how thoughtful and prepared she was — she even had a clipboard with notes ready, which immediately made us feel comfortable and confident leaving our dog in her care. Throughout the stay she sent so many photos and detailed updates, which we really appreciated. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing exactly how things were going and seeing how happy our dog was. Our pup ended up having a bit of a GI issue while we were away, and Shana handled it with such calm confidence and care. She clearly knows dogs incredibly well and was so composed and knowledgeable in every situation. She even cooked rice and chicken for her to help settle her stomach and kept us updated on how she was doing, which meant so much to us. Shana, her husband Dylan, and their dog Cleo created such a warm, loving environment. It genuinely felt like our dog was being cared for by people who truly understand and love dogs. We are so grateful for the care she gave our pup and would trust Shana with her again in a heartbeat.”

“Our minidoodle Sam had a great stay with Charlotte and Jordan, and their dog Kyber. Two things we especially like: They generally just take one dog at a time (more attention, and Sam loves attention!), and they live near some great walking trails. Very nice people.”

“Michelle did an excellent job. She kept me up to date with photos and messages for the 10+ days she was taking care of my dog. I felt totally at ease leaving my dog with her. Would definitely use her again!”

“Taylor is such an amazing dog sitter, I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found her. Even though I was on vacation I felt like Eddie was too! She did all sorts of fun things with him and gave him lots of love and attention too. So many updates and pictures, it made my trip even better to know he was in such caring hands. Can’t wait for Eddie’s next visit!”

“Melany was amazing! She kept me updated the whole time by sending videos and pictures of my Frenchie, and it was clear my dog was happy and well cared for. She also accommodated an extra day for me last minute, which I really appreciated. I’ll definitely be booking with her again next time I go away!”

“My dog had a wonderful week with Kathy. You can tell that she truly cares for the dogs she's watching. Kathy is excellent at communicating, which is the best. We had videos and updates more than once a day. It was reassuring and helpful to see our dog playing and running with pals. Also, her fences are great so I wasn't worried about my 9 pound dog escaping! I will not hesitate to board with her again.”

“Jude was incredible with Sally and she had the time of her life. He was very responsive, prompt and took really great care of her. We would love to have Sally stay with him again in the future!”

I can administer medication as well as I had to for my dog. Monday and Friday I can use my lunch break for a visit, middle of the week days , I am available after 3, weekends are wide open I have a fenced in yard with plenty of space and our dog cannoli is very very friendly and will love to have a friend. She is up to date with all vaccinations.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Hampton
Denise and Luca (her small dog) were great with our small dog Senshi. We felt he was comfortable with her and it was nice that she only takes small dogs. He had lovely walks to the beach and a farm. She let him sit by her in the evenings and on the bed at night. She has cameras around her home so if she has to go out she can check on him which we appreciate. She always responded to any inquiries we had in a timely manner and she provided pics and updates regularly. We will definitely use her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
