“Kane and Colette are amazing. Such kind people, so flexible, responsive, understanding and honest. We don't have enough nice things to say. They sent us daily updates about our dog with photos, took him on a boat ride, lots of walks, kept him entertained all day and he was literally smiling in every photo. We needed help with our dog last minute and they were so beyond accommodating and made everything easy and stress free. Maverick has stayed with them a few times now and this last time almost a week and they made him feel right at home. They are my #1 pick for my dog and should be yours too!! Such a great experience. Thank you so much!”

“Felicia is great very happy to have access to a great dog sitter! This is the second time I’ve left Ashley with her, got great updates, could not ask for more! Will definitely use again if she’s a available!”

“Lindsay was a great sitter for our dog Wellington. She provided pictures and updates regularly which made all the difference. We were traveling for 9 days out of the country and really appreciated her caring and thoughtful messages. It really was clear how much she cared for our dog and it was very much appreciated.”

“Kristen and Bobby took excellent care of our dog Lenny. Lenny and their dog got along great, and Kristen and Bobby followed our instructions perfectly. I would highly recommend!”

“Caitlyn exceeded my expectations and took good care of my two feench bulldogs. She groomed them, played with them and loved them like they were her own! I think my dogs liked her more than me and already misses her. Haha 😄 I didnt worry about them at all knowing they were with her. I will never leave them at a boarding facility again and they will go to Caitlins from now on! Thank you for your love and care of my beloved dogs!”

“Highly recommend Becky and Bob. Great people who love all dogs like their own. I have used them multiple times and always ask them first when we travel. Very accommodating and communication is great.”

“Peter and his family took great care of our 2 active golden retrievers! They made our dogs feel at home giving them plenty of comfy spots to snuggle up but also gave them lots of play time both in and outside! I would definitely recommend Peter and his loving family to pet sit.”

“Salish was wonderful with our dogs and gave us constant updates. I was particularly worried about my younger dog who can be troublesome, but it ended up working out so well! They were so well taken care of, and my younger dog was the calmest I have seen her in a long time. Thanks, Salish!”

“Yenny and her family where extremely amazing 🥰 my Winnie was happy being around them for being her first time spending the night out of her comfort 🩷🫶🏼 she did well I will definitely book again in near future with yenny. Definitely recommend her 💯”

“So grateful for how good they took care of our fur baby 🥹 Had some delays with our flight and they were so understanding! Igo is so adorable and I’m so happy Kai had a friend to play with!”

“Adriana and her whole family was very accommodating and patient with our dog who gets separation anxiety. She kept me updated frequently with pictures and texts. I would use Adriana again and would recommend her. Thank you!”
“I cannot say enough great things about Natasha and Jonathan! My puppy Luna (80lb, 1 year old lab mix) spent 6days and 5nights with them and they sent regular pictures and video updates. I could tell Luna was having the absolute best time and I was able to have a good vacation because I knew Luna was being well taken care of. We also did one test day before the longer stay and after that one day I knew Natasha and Jonathan were a great fit. Both times when I’ve picked her up she’s been happy and calm and very tired out from all the walks and playing. They were also super flexible with drop off and pick up times and communication was very easy. I would 1,000% recommend Natasha and Jonathan to absolutely anyone and I will definitely be booking with them again!”

“Wagner had a good first stay with Gienna and Maggy. Gienna was great at providing updates with photos during the stay, and we feel very comfortable leaving Wagner for an overnight stay next month.”

“Katherine took care of our senior dog Serena for a whole week while we were away on a family trip. We were so worried about leaving her with someone we didn't know. We took Serena to meet Katherine ahead of time and even did a trial sleepover. I can honestly say, we had no worries while we were away. Katherine sent us updates and Serena had a great week. I cannot recommend Katherine enough.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Amesbury
Denise is wonderful! We highly recommend her services. She went above and beyond to make our two Havanese dogs comfortable in her home. She made their stay adventurous and truly magical, filled with activities as moonrise watching on the beach, so they are a bit bored with us at home and will be excited to stay at her house again. Ivana and Martin

So thankful to Donna and John for taking such excellent care of our dog while we were away. It can be very challenging to find boarding suitable for her due to her being dog-aggressive, but Donna and John willingly accepted her as their only client for the weekend and made us feel so comfortable knowing she was going to be in such good hands!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
