“Gabby was amazing with our Stella. First, she agreed to watch Stella on short notice as our regular sitter had fallen through. During the visit she sent pictures and videos, and when I picked Stella up she had a report card, gift bag with treats, a new collar(!), and a wonderful fresh smell from a much needed but not requested bath! Gabby went above and beyond like I have never seen, and Stella couldn’t have been better taken care of.”

“Michael and his family were great!! Our Golden Jaxson came home super happy!! He sent multiple update pics and was very responsive!! Felt so at ease Knowing Michael was caring for Jaxson! 🐾”

“Reesi and Tanner made themselves right at home with Sindy and her family within a few minutes after arriving there. We were a bit concerned about how they might adjust in a new place with new people, but we soon discovered we didn't have to worry at all. We were able to leave them for the day and not worry about a thing. Sindy even sent us several pictures of them throughout the day to let us know they were safe and sound while we were able to enjoy our 4-year-old grandson's birthday party in another state. We highly recommend Sindy when you need someone to care for your pets while away!”

“Michael was very communicative the whole time, and our Caju had a great time at his house! He was well taken care of and came back happy and tired :) I’ll definitely do it again when needed!”

“Donna and Roland were wonderful with our little Maisie. They clearly love dogs and cats and they were very understanding about the fact that Maisie gets anxious when separated from us. Maisie seemed to adapt quickly due to their kind attention. We will definitely contact them again!”

“Gabriel is excellent. My Leo is a Maltese, and Gabriel was very attentive to him. Gabriel kept me updated with photos and videos throughout Leo's stay. Furthermore, Gabriel was very reliable in responding to my texts, which gave me peace of mind. I recommend Gabriel 100%, and I would definitely book with him again.”

“Daisy watched our dog Bentley for a long weekend. Daisy was great with Bentley, she is very understanding and kind . In the past our dog Bentley got very anxious and nervous when we went away, he was very comfortable with her and happy for the time we where gone. We already booked Daisy for a week long stay in the end of January!”

“This was my first time leaving Remie with anyone, and Christina was a great choice for the occasion. She was highly attentive to Remie's needs, provided regular updates and photos, and made me feel genuinely at ease. I hope she will have us again.”

“My dog loves staying with Rebeca and her family! They were able to accommodate a last minute change to the drop off time. I can tell my dog is treated like part of the family and receives great care! We look forward to booking with her again”

“Sharon was an absolute pleasure to work with!! She made my dog feel right at home and treated him as if he was her own! She kept me posted daily on what he was up to and how he was doing. I felt completely comfortable leaving Louis in her care and I could not recommend her enough. I will definitely rebook with her in the future!!!”

“Damaris was wonderful to Potato! I feel that he had a very fun week and was well cared for. I really liked receiving pictures everyday, it made me feel very comfortable knowing that he was in good hands. :)”

“I was very nervous to leave Lola to go on vacation, only because this was my first leaving her. It was great to find out that I actually had nothing to be worried about because Deiana is so sweet, great personality, and was very sweet with lola, took very good care of her, walked her, lola and her pup played together in her backyard, she brushed her out. She also sent me pics while I was away to let me know how lola was doing.”
“Monty's stay with Felicia was great! She provided us with lots of updates along the way, and we felt like he was in very safe hands. Our puppy came home happy and relaxed, and it was adorable at pickup seeing how much Felicia and her kids enjoyed having him there ❤️”

“Chelsea was great with our 2 dogs! She listened and kept their schedules almost like home. She (and her partner) were great dog-sitters! She communicated quickly and kept us in the know on their stay. Ill use her again for sure!”

“This was our first experience using Rover and we couldn’t be more pleased. Charlotte, Jordan and Kyber were so welcoming from our very first meet and greet that we felt Bentley would be in great hands. During our trip we received great photos of Bentley enjoying his time with Kyber, as they quickly became best buds. We look forward to having Bentley visit again with Charlotte, Jordan and Kyber.”

“Mimi is GREAT! She took amazing care of my dog. She has a wonderful indoor space in her home for your dog to play, hang out, and sleep and a big yard for outside time. She even took my dog on a few adventures — a trip to Home Depot and a walk in the park. She seemed to really clue into my dog’s personality and connect with her. Will definitely be setting up another visit with Mimi!”

“Stella loved her stay with Denise. Denise sent me photos and updates on Stella. I would definitely recommend Denise to anyone looking for someone to watch their fur baby while away. It’s important to know they are being well cared for, and Stella was. We will use Denise again in the future for our pet sitting needs 🐶”

“Cherie had my two large dogs for a weekend. She has a nice, large fenced in yard so plenty of space for them to rome and sniff. She had supplied pics of them walking, playing and chillin' Grif and Cinn were happy to see me when I picked them up, but they still did go back for a few more moments to be in the yard. I would absolutely recommend Cherie for your doggies boarding. Grif and Cinn will be be returning there again for sure”

Felicia was great! She was super accommodating with the pick up and drop off times and sent pictures during my dog’s stay. It was great knowing my dog was in good hands while I was away. I definitely hope to have Felicia dog sitter again and would highly recommend!

Tammy is truly the best of the best! She watched our pup for the second time while we were in Italy this past week, and as usual went above and beyond! She has truly become a part of our family and she loves our girl like her own. Our dog can be reactive, so having someone who not only respects our wishes while we are away, but understands how to keep our girl happy, healthy, and safe is paramount. Tammy’s kindness, genuine love for animals, and loving nature make her the absolute best choice for your pet. Thank you, Auntie T! Until next time- Nina, Josh, and Winnie❤️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
