Go no further ! I’ve found THE caretaker for my Madeline. When Lucille got down on the floor to greet and introduce herself to Madeline, I knew she was the GOLD standard in “fur baby” caregiving. She went above and beyond the 3 page list of instructions I gave her. 🙄 I had complete confidence, trust and peace of mind knowing Madeline was about to be spoiled, she was included in her daily routines which included car rides and shopping all while observing for any stress. I actually will, without hesitation, be calling Lucille for future overnights. Her love of dogs is a true gift! GLK

This was my first time leaving Remie with anyone, and Christina was a great choice for the occasion. She was highly attentive to Remie's needs, provided regular updates and photos, and made me feel genuinely at ease. I hope she will have us again.

Would highly recommend Melissa as she made me feel very comfortable from the initial greet and meet all the way thru the 6 days she had Roxie. Received daily text and pictures on how Roxie was doing!!! Will be using Melissa in the future!!!

Thea was wonderful with DJ. He spent about 12 hours with her and came home with a big smile on his face. The big plus for us was a fenced in yard to play in. Would definitely use Thea again.

Leaving our dog with a sitter through Rover for the first time was very nerve wracking but Joshua reassured us from the meet and greet to the very end of our vacation. He sent us updates everyday and communication was top tier. I would book with Joshua again. Highly recommend!

Daisy watched our dog Bentley for a long weekend. Daisy was great with Bentley, she is very understanding and kind . In the past our dog Bentley got very anxious and nervous when we went away, he was very comfortable with her and happy for the time we where gone. We already booked Daisy for a week long stay in the end of January!

I was very nervous to leave Lola to go on vacation, only because this was my first leaving her. It was great to find out that I actually had nothing to be worried about because Deiana is so sweet, great personality, and was very sweet with lola, took very good care of her, walked her, lola and her pup played together in her backyard, she brushed her out. She also sent me pics while I was away to let me know how lola was doing.

About: 🐾 Hi, I’m Efrain—your dog’s new best friend! I’ve been caring for and loving dogs for over 30 years, and honestly, dogs have held some of the most meaningful relationships of my life. I often say (only half-joking!) that I love dogs even more than humans sometimes. Their honesty, loyalty, and pure-hearted energy have been a constant source of joy and grounding for me. I currently share my home with two wonderful dogs of my own, and they absolutely love the company of other pups. They’re social, playful, and gentle—perfect hosts who make visiting dogs feel welcome and part of the pack. Spending time with my furry little kindred sorority is the best part of my day, and caring for dogs isn’t just something I do—it’s truly a way of life. 🐶 What Your Dog Can Expect ✔️ A calm, safe, loving environment ✔️ Friendly canine companions (my two pups!) ✔️ Lots of affection, attention, and individualized care ✔️ A caregiver and famiky who treats every dog like family If you’re looking for someone who genuinely understands and adores dogs, I’d love to welcome your pup into our home and extended fur-family Hi, I am a lifelong dog lover, proud husband and dad, and someone who’s spent nearly 30 years helping people as a mental health professional and consultant. At home, though, I’m happiest surrounded by my family and my two amazing dogs, who love welcoming new furry friends into our little pack. I often joke that dogs have been some of my best teachers (and sometimes better company than humans!), and creating a home filled with warmth, laughter, and wagging tails is one of my favorite things. Whether I’m supporting people through my work or caring for pups in my home, my approach is the same: lead with kindness, stay grounded, and make everyone feel like they belong. At home, I care for my dogs with a mix of structure, play, and genuine affection—daily walks, plenty of exercise, consistent routines, and lots of cuddle time. I make sure they’re mentally stimulated, well-fed, and always feeling safe and loved. Whether we’re relaxing at home, exploring parks, visiting dog-friendly spots, or going on little adventures, I keep their comfort and happiness at the center of everything. I treat every dog in my care the same way I treat my own: with patience, attention, and a commitment to making them feel secure, understood, and part of the family.

Adriana has been so wonderful every step of the way! She was very flexible when I needed to reschedule our meet and greet. She welcomed my family and dog into her beautiful home and has a great set up for hosting dogs. She has a perfect fenced backyard and we were able to see how her dog and cat interacted with our high energy dog. We had a last-minute change of travel plans due to illness and Adriana was so kind and helped us figure out a new plan. Once we dropped off our dog she sent frequent video and photo updates. Her family made sure he had a lot of play time and exercise through games in their yard and neighborhood walks. She is very organized, kind and a great communicator. I highly recommend her and we will definitely trust her with our dog for future travel.

This was our first experience using Rover and we couldn’t be more pleased. Charlotte, Jordan and Kyber were so welcoming from our very first meet and greet that we felt Bentley would be in great hands. During our trip we received great photos of Bentley enjoying his time with Kyber, as they quickly became best buds. We look forward to having Bentley visit again with Charlotte, Jordan and Kyber.

If you are anything like us, our fur babies are literally like our children. We travel often, and have boarded our dogs Baxter and Goldie before... never again will I kennel the dogs. I found rover accidentally. Upon looking into it I was thoroughly impressed. Not only were the services more extensive, but the rates were great too. The first person I came across was rebecca. I thought she looked familiar and it turns out, she's my neighbor! Our dogs never have to stay far from home again. Rebecca and her husband Bob are amazing people in general, nevermind the love and attention the pay to the animals. Baxter and Goldie enjoyed their stay. They were excited to come home, but I don't think they would have minded a couple more nights with these dog lovers. Already booked for the 4th of July, and will most definitely be friends for a long time to come. I highly recommend Rebecca if you have a hard time leaving your pets behind. They send pictures and update daily. Over a half a dozen walks in 1 day!! Absolutely amazing. Thank you Rebecca and Bob. You made us leaving our babies behind a lot easier. ❤

About: I am a reliable, active, and detail-oriented dog sitter. I tailor every stay to your dog's unique routine and personality. Fully equipped to handle feeding, medication, exercise and plenty of TLC. Let's chat about how I can make your dog's day great! I do doggie daycare/boarding full time, so I am always home. During the day, the pups go on pack walks, explore and sniff or they can chill in the fenced yard, if that is more their style. I am fully insured and certified in canine first aid and CPR, so your dog is always in safe, capable hands. My family dogs are friendly, laid back and always welcome to new friends. My home is set up with multiple boundaries to allow dogs to have quiet time when needed.

About: My family has fostered many dogs from puppies to elderly, along with owning two of our own. Almost all of my highschool volunteer hours came from helping at dog kennels and daycares. From a young age my parents have taught me to have good patience and care for animals. I am currently a student home from school til March. I attend a maritime school for engineering. Other than two courses I am taking online at nearby school, I have a completely open schedule from the next two months. Depending on age I offer 1-2 walks through out the day. Along with interactive meal times! I do own 1 dog at home who is elderly but very very kind and social. I have a very large yard which allows all the zombies. However my pup is trained and therefore we have no fencing. I live in close proximity to dog park for free range fun as well. As for dogs that require daily grooming, I proved daily brushings as well.

About: I grew up around dogs my whole life so I’m used to being around them. I also have had one other dog before and now have a mini dachshund. I’m very comfortable with taking care of dogs and having them in my space. I work a full time job at home, but I’m in control of my own schedule and am very flexible. I’m also available weekends and in the summer, I’m even more flexible. I take my dog out 2-3x a day depending on weather. We go on walk across the street at the park for about 15-20 min and when we are back inside, he is allowed to roam freely. He eats 2x a day with snacks in between and he always has water out. I play with him as much as I can throughout the day to make sure he doesn’t get too bored with his day too! My apartment is always clean to ensure that my pup doesn’t get into anything he isn’t supposed to. Lastly, my apartment building is secure as you need a key fob or someone to buzz you in to enter the building.

As always, Mikayla and Allen took wonderful care of our little girl, Ella. They are extremely conscientious and take their dog sitting responsibilities very seriously, and we always feel that Ella is in the best of care when she stays there. They also send us photos during her stays and she is obviously very happy there. We have left Ella there several times, and I would highly recommend them.

Nicole and her family provided exceptional care for our senior Golden, Mina! They were so thoughtful—even setting up rug "runways" on their floors to help Mina's mobility. Between the outdoor playtime, the constant snuggles from Nicole’s daughters, and the regular photo updates, we knew Mina was in the best hands. Even their dog Jack became a fast friend. If you want peace of mind and a family that treats your dog like their own, look no further!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Boarding in Salem on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 3,663 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Salem. About 90% of Salem sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
