“Joseph and his family were great sitters. They took care of our boy like he was their own. Their home and outdoor space is safe and spacious for dogs to get plenty of exercise. They were also very accommodating when we had a change in travel plans. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again as a sitter.”

“This was our first experience using Rover and we struck gold with Vanessa. She was communicative and kept us updated on our pups while we were away. Our dogs can be a handful as one is VERY high energy, but she clearly knew what she was doing and they came home happy and healthy. I would highly recommend her to watch your pups!”

“Ruth was absolutely wonderful and very flexible! She and Roxy welcomed Pablo and made him comfortable and happy from the moment one. I was comfortable knowing that my senior pup is in loving and experienced hands. He had a great time socializing, walking and enjoying Ruth's backyard. Thank you so much!!”

“Adriana and her whole family was very accommodating and patient with our dog who gets separation anxiety. She kept me updated frequently with pictures and texts. I would use Adriana again and would recommend her. Thank you!”
“We left our almost 2 year old husky with Gabriel for the weekend and have no regrets. He was extremely prompt when contacted for booking. He was very welcoming when we stopped by for a visit prior to booking and our dog loved him right away. During our vacation he sent us videos and made sure Rocky’s needs were met. We will definitely book Gabriel again when needing boarding care.”

“I'm so thankful we found Allie to accommodate our needs to care for our 3 GSPs in her home. I felt at ease with her right from our first meet up. Not many would take on the challenge of 2 6-month old pups plus a 13 yr old set in her ways. Allie is quick to communicate and thankfully understands the breeds needs and activity level. We don't travel often, but when you need someone to care for your family members you can't just leave them with anyone. We liked that Allie takes on one client at a time. We will be happy to take our pups back and it allowed us to enjoy our time away without added stress.”

“Mike and his family did a wonderful job taking care of our Bernese Mountain Dog. They send lots of photos and really treat her like one of the family, she has the best time there and I know she is being well cared for, highly recommend.”

“Bae was great and cam through lase minute when we got stuck, and our dog seemed to do really great with them. On top of that when we arrived one day earlier she initiated a refund which we did not ask for. I heartily recommend her for your dog.”

“We just love Rebeca and her whole family! They all pitch in and take care of the dogs that stay with them and we have a VERY active dog so it is so good for her to have lots of people to play with while we’re away. :) I can tell Cici always has the best time with them and we don’t have to worry about her at all while on vacation. We got the most gorgeous pics of her to see all the fun walks she was taking and fun games she was playing with their daughter. And at the end of the stay their daughter gave her a little Halloween goody bag with the CUTEST note talking about her favorite moment of Cici’s stay with her. It’s just so sweet you can see how much they care about your dog when they are with them. Cici will for sure be back over and over again! 🥰”

About: I’ve always been around dogs growing up with multiple in the house at all times. Ive worked in a doggy daycare as well as a groomer’s assistant giving baths and blowouts, I can trim nails as well if needed! I am the one to call amongst friends and family when they need someone to watch their furry friend. Having grown up with horses as well, I am very comfortable around all animals regardless of size or breed. I have a full time job 8-5 on weekdays, but I still have time to care for you fur children. If you have a dog that is used to this type of schedule I’d be happy to help you out while you take a much needed vacation. My radius is set to where I can make it on my lunch break to give them a potty break mid day as well. Weekend days will be a majority of quality time with your pup. I like to create a very loving environment with lots of positive reinforcement. I treat every dog I meet like my own. I would never let someone else’s baby out of my sight or put them in any situation where they could be hurt. I am very attentive and pick up on a dog’s normal behavior quickly, so if I notice anything abnormal I can alert the owner ASAP. For walks, I carry dog mace with me so should an unleashed dog pose a threat I am ready to protect myself and your furry friend! I am also adamant about taking pictures/videos for the owner. I know how hard it is when I have to leave my beloved pets, so I want to give you the most peace of mind possible.
“Joshua, you were fantastic with my dog Slippy for the full 10 days. From the very beginning, I could tell how much care and attention you gave him. The regular updates and sweet photos meant the world to me and let me truly relax on my trip. Slippy came home happy, energetic, and clearly well-loved. I so grateful for everything you did. Thank you so much, Joshua — I would happily trust you with Slippy again anytime!”

“Daniela took amazing care of Dobby while we were away. She sent great updates and from each picture and video it was easy to tell that Dobby was having a great time playing in the yard and hanging out with Daniela and her family. Glad Dobby was able to be with a safe and caring family while we were gone!”

“What a great host and home for our dog. Take the time to meet up with Thea and her sweet dog Gigolo and their cozy home with a doggie door and fenced-in yard. I went on my trip feeling 1000% comfortable and enjoyed seeing pictures pop into my feed throughout. Thea made sure my dog got what she needed. A+”

“Mimi is GREAT! She took amazing care of my dog. She has a wonderful indoor space in her home for your dog to play, hang out, and sleep and a big yard for outside time. She even took my dog on a few adventures — a trip to Home Depot and a walk in the park. She seemed to really clue into my dog’s personality and connect with her. Will definitely be setting up another visit with Mimi!”

About: I grew up around dogs my whole life so I’m used to being around them. I also have had one other dog before and now have a mini dachshund. I’m very comfortable with taking care of dogs and having them in my space. I work a full time job at home, but I’m in control of my own schedule and am very flexible. I’m also available weekends and in the summer, I’m even more flexible. I take my dog out 2-3x a day depending on weather. We go on walk across the street at the park for about 15-20 min and when we are back inside, he is allowed to roam freely. He eats 2x a day with snacks in between and he always has water out. I play with him as much as I can throughout the day to make sure he doesn’t get too bored with his day too! My apartment is always clean to ensure that my pup doesn’t get into anything he isn’t supposed to. Lastly, my apartment building is secure as you need a key fob or someone to buzz you in to enter the building.
“I can’t sing higher praises for Emily! She’s been an absolute lifesaver for me and my Cane Corso. My baby (110 lbs…lol) absolutely adores her, and it’s easy to see why. She goes above and beyond, giving him all the love, attention, and exercise he needs. My girl don’t even bat an eye at his slobber! Haha It’s clear Emily genuinely cares for him, and I always feel completely at ease knowing he’s in such good hands. If you’re looking for a pet sitter who will treat your dog like their own, look no further—Emily is simply the best!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Salem
I was really hesitant to board my dog with anyone for 4 days. My dog, Douglas, can be a handful, and he hasn’t been allowed to be part of his daycare group, because we’ve told that he’s “too aggressive in his play.” Of course, this breaks my heart, and, naturally, I’m very hesitant to put him in any situation where there’s potential for injury. Donnie had such incredible reviews on Rover and he seemed like our best shot at being able to handle Doug without any issues. We did a meet-and-greet with Donnie, and by the time we left, any concerns we had with boarding Doug went away. Donnie was warm, welcoming, patient, and really kind. It helped that Doug loved him (and the ladies working with him). Donnie was really positive and confident that he could take care of Doug however he needed. Doug’s medications were administered as necessary, and he had comfortable accommodations (Doug is 90 lbs, so that can be a challenge!). Donnie was kind enough to give me photos and video of Doug, as well. Donnie is also a very experienced, successful dog trainer and he took time to help us learn how to teach Doug to walk on a leash properly. I watched Donnie, within 5 minutes, teach Doug how to stay next to him while walking on a leash. It was incredible. He was also gracious enough to let us borrow a leather leash for us to practice what he taught us on how to maintain control of Doug while walking. Additionally, Donnie offers free dog walking classes on Sundays, which I will definitely be attending moving forward. All I can say is, do yourselves and your dogs a favor and work with Donnie! He’ll be my go-to always.

As always, Mikayla & Alen provided exceptional care for our dog Ella, they are extremely professional, conscientious, and caring. We have used their services several times in the past, and have a future booking scheduled. They take all the worry of leaving our sweet (and very active) Ella behind when we travel.

Camila and Michael were amazing hosts to my bunny, Lilah!! They took such great care of her, giving her tons of attention and sending me pictures, and managed her twice a day medications. Camila had great and consistent communication with me and was very easy to work with and I'll definitely book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
