“I couldn't have for a better sitter. Julia was so communicative, sending frequent pictures and updates. Jake had such a good time and we trust Julia and her family to take care of him.”

“They were well loved & I got daily updates with pictures! Mia & Bear were happy to see me when we picked them up, but I think a little sad to be leaving their new friends! Bob & Kathi get a "better than home" rating :) ”

“Emily is the sweetest person ever!!! She went above and beyond and made sure my pup had the best stay ever! I am new to the city and to Rover and was very uneasy at first on having someone new watch Kingston for me but Emily reassured me everything would be ok. Emily kept me update everyday throughout the day with videos and pictures of Kingston. He absolutely loved playing with her boys and I could tell he was in great hands. I could tell Emily and her family was giving him a lot of love and he felt right at home. I will definitely be booking Emily again as she made this the easiest process ever and was very considerate of my mine and Kingston’s needs. Thank you for everything!❤️”

“I looked many hours for the right family to leave our Westie, Piper, with during a trip to Europe. When I met Donna and Roland at their home in Newbury, I felt so good about their experienced background with dogs. They advertised that they would allow a small dog to sleep in their bed which is what Piper is use to so this was another perk for Piper. Their home is very dog friendly and I loved the way they decorated it, inside and outside. Piper needed some extra meds while we were away and they followed all the instructions for her. When we picked her up, she was very relaxed and we knew she had a good vacation away from home. (Previously, we had people stay with her at our home.) She got to visit with another dog and a cat that lives with Donna and Roland, walked places that she had never walked before with Roland and was lovingly cared for by them. It was so good to see her so happy and content when we arrived to take her home. We will continue to book with Donna from now on and are so grateful for people like them who love her as we do. A+ to a wonderful care-free experience !!!”

“Ruth was absolutely wonderful and very flexible! She and Roxy welcomed Pablo and made him comfortable and happy from the moment one. I was comfortable knowing that my senior pup is in loving and experienced hands. He had a great time socializing, walking and enjoying Ruth's backyard. Thank you so much!!”

“Daniela and her family were great sitters. Lots of communication including videos and pics, which we loved. They were also patient and generous with our (often) rambunctious puppy. Highly recommend.”

“This is our 2nd time booking 7 day stays for our Labs Teddy & Tucker with Becky & Bob. They are well cared for and we love the pictures they take time to send us while away from our fur babies. We highly recommend!!”

“This is our 2nd time leaving Finn with Michael and Finn was so excited when we pulled into his driveway. Finn came home clean and well cared for. We appreciated the photos Michael sent while we were away from Finn. He always looked happy!”

“Joseph and his family were great sitters. They took care of our boy like he was their own. Their home and outdoor space is safe and spacious for dogs to get plenty of exercise. They were also very accommodating when we had a change in travel plans. I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again as a sitter.”

“We just came back from a wonderful Christmas - New Year's trip, and Tux spent seven nights with Faith and her family. We cannot say enough about how Faith handled the whole stay, and we will DEFINITELY book Tux to stay with her again! Faith made herself available for a "meet and greet" with Tux about a week before we were leaving on our trip. She was very attentive to Tux, and we were impressed with her fenced in yard and welcoming home. We were flying out early on the day after Christmas, so Faith had no problem with our dropping off Tux around 7pm on Christmas night. She was also accommodating about the pick up time on New Year's Day. While we were away, Faith sent me several messages and pictures about Tux and how he was doing. Needless to say, I'm not sure who was having more fun: Tux with his new friends at Faith's home?!?! or us on our tropical vacation!?!? We will definitely book Faith again to take care of Tux. She was very professional, and Tux seemed very happy during his time with Faith and her family.”

“I always feel good and safe leaving Alex with Damaris because I know how particular she always is. Damaris communicates with us on a daily basis and will let us know of any minor changes with Alex which I really appreciate- thank you Damaris for making us feel good about leaving Alex with you anytime”

“Daisy was amazing with my picky dog. We scheduled a last minute trip and she was beyond accommodating and put our minds at ease knowing that we were leaving our pup in good hands. She went above and beyond, and we looked forward to her pictures and updates while we were away. If we need to board again, I feel 100% comfortable reaching out to Daisy again!”
“We boarded our 2y old whippet, Willow, with Lucille for an overnight. As a nervous parent, I couldn't have felt more confident in the care I knew Lucille would provide for Willow. She and her husband David are such lovely people, and they have a warm, welcoming home. Willow immediately took to her home away from home. Lucille took her outside frequently and went on multiple long walks with her. I left instructions for Willow's diet, snack time and bedtime routine that she followed to the letter. I can't say enough good things about the care Lucille provided, and we will definitely be boarding with her again - likely within the month!”

“Michael and his family were great!! Our Golden Jaxson came home super happy!! He sent multiple update pics and was very responsive!! Felt so at ease Knowing Michael was caring for Jaxson! 🐾”

“I’ve been going to Melissa for about 2 years and she’s always been amazing with my boys. She has a great space for them to roam around and play. She’s excellent at communication as well and sending in updates on how they’re doing. Thank you again!”

“Mikayla and Alen were amazing and so accommodating. Our pup enjoyed a fun weekend with them. They were very flexible about pick up and drop off and they sent frequent updates. You won’t regret using them for your dog sitting needs! We will definitely be back.”

“Gabriel is excellent. My Leo is a Maltese, and Gabriel was very attentive to him. Gabriel kept me updated with photos and videos throughout Leo's stay. Furthermore, Gabriel was very reliable in responding to my texts, which gave me peace of mind. I recommend Gabriel 100%, and I would definitely book with him again.”

“Felicia provided great care for Charlie. He stayed with her family for almost a week. I was updated with photos and texts on how he was doing. I would highly recommend Felicia.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
