I am on rover to help with the needs of pet care as I know it can be quite expensive these days and am looking for something to do in my free time. I currently work at an Animal Hosptial, looking to expand my time with animals. I have 7 years of animal care, including 4 of those years working at a doggie daycare/kennel environment which has allowed me to understand dogs better, and how their body language/behavior is when it comes to being in a kennel environment and in a home environment. My dog Mango and I love to go on walks whether it’s to her favorite swimming area, or just in a field to run around and play ball. We are always out walking no matter the weather! I have experience taking care of animals ranging from puppies all the way to seniors. I have experience doing medications as well for both cats and dogs. About: I have looked after dogs and cats for my entire life. I have watched dogs of all sizes and multiple pets at a time, including cats and dogs, multiple dogs of different breeds/ sizes, or cats of different sizes and breeds. I can work from home so I can take care of them throughout the day; a lot of attention, walks, medication administration, etc. = happy pets! I stick to the routine and boundaries set by the client. Different dogs require different levels of care and I am experienced with many different types of breeds. That’s exactly the kind of care I aim to provide! I’m a lifelong animal lover with years of hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I especially enjoy working with high-energy dogs and have experience with reactive dogs and dogs with fear-based behaviors. If you’re working on things like not jumping on guests, waiting at thresholds, staying off counters, leash manners, or other household rules, I’d love to know. I have three dogs of my own—two Golden Retrievers and an Australian Shepherd—so high energy, lots of personality, and dogs who need both physical and mental stimulation are very familiar territory. Depending on your dog, that might mean a good walk, sniffing and exploring, fetch, playtime, puzzle activities, or simply some one-on-one attention. I’m also comfortable caring for pets with additional medical or emotional needs. I have experience with epileptic dogs requiring medication on a strict schedule, as well as dogs who become frightened or anxious during thunderstorms and fireworks. And I’m definitely not just a dog person! I’ve been caring for cats since I was about 10 years old and have experience with both healthy cats and cats with medical needs. I’m comfortable administering medications and subcutaneous fluids and have cared for cats with chronic kidney disease and FeLV.
