“Jennifer and her family were so wonderful. They provided a lovely and safe home for Walter while we were on vacation. Her dog Molly even taught our dog good manners. Highly recommended!!!”

“Michael and his family were great!! Our Golden Jaxson came home super happy!! He sent multiple update pics and was very responsive!! Felt so at ease Knowing Michael was caring for Jaxson! 🐾”

“Penny loved staying with Monica! She was safe and well taken care of! We received pictures everyday and she helped her settle in so we didn’t have to worry while we were away. Definitely will use her again! Thank you Monica!!”

“Denise was wonderful. My dog is very timid with new people and he felt comfortable with Denise and her two sweet small dogs immediately. Really, it was a perfect fit. Denise was welcoming and communicative throughout. So happy to have met her!”

“Julia was an excellent sitter for our dog Nacho. Her children were very excited to have him over and definitely helped to tire him out. We got regular updates with pictures & it looked like he was having a blast!”

“Gienna is amazing!! She was very flexible with leaving my dog over for the weekend. She made sure to send updates throughout the stay. My dog was very happy and exhausted when I picked her up. Definitely recommend!”

“Kristina is very nice and was very accommodating about my dog's back problems, she took very good care of my pup. She'll definitely will be my first choice for sitting from now on.”

“Daisy watched our dog Bentley for a long weekend. Daisy was great with Bentley, she is very understanding and kind . In the past our dog Bentley got very anxious and nervous when we went away, he was very comfortable with her and happy for the time we where gone. We already booked Daisy for a week long stay in the end of January!”

“Paul and Megan were absolutely wonderful with my dog Gus. As an anxious rescue dog, he can be hesitant in new situations and around new people, but they showed so much patience, kindness, and understanding that he quickly seemed to feel at ease with them. I’m incredibly grateful for the love and attention they gave him and would highly recommend them to anyone!”

“Piper came back happy from Belinda’s! Belinda was very responsible, flexible, and made sure to slowly introduce Piper to her own pup! If I am back in town with Piper I will definitely reach out to her again!”
“Donna and John are great to work with and we fully trust them with our pup. They communicated well before and during our trip and it was clear our dog settled in quickly and was comfortable throughout. We'll be asking them to sit again for sure!”

“Sylwia is the nicest, so responsive, and caring. You can tell she genuinely loves dogs and caring for them. So lucky to have her take care of our pup when we are out town!”

“Samantha was great with both me and my dog. This was my first Rover booking and she and her husband were super accommodating and took great care of Della: taking her on walks, making sure the cats stayed away and giving her cuddle time (with kids❤️). Would book again if i was in the area.”

“I reached out to Alison when my long time boarder decided to stop their services and I am very glad I found her. She is just amazing and so caring, and took great care of my dog. My dog is shy and can be afraid of other dogs but I could see how happy and comfortable she was around Alison and her dogs. I am usually always anxious whenever I leave my dog but not this time. Alison and her family are amazing and I highly recommend her! Can’t thank you enough Alison!”

“I’m a person who has a lot of difficulty trusting someone with my dogs- I’m very close with them. I’m positive many of the folks reading this review can say the same. It can be difficult to find someone trustworthy, reliable, and communicative. It can be even more difficult to find someone who is all of those things AND is excellent with dogs. My family has hit the absolute jackpot with Karen’s services. Our older dog has separation anxiety, takes medication, and needs a consistent presence to be successful. We never had to doubt whether Karen could fill these needs for him, and she’s delivered every time. Our younger dog has a lot of energy and has to be let out frequently- Karen’s flexibility and home/yard are perfect to meet those needs. Karen sent us pictures and videos throughout each of my dogs’ stays and provided detailed updates as to how they are doing. We will absolutely be back again, we can’t recommend her enough! 6/5 stars!”

“Cherie was amazing! This was my first time using Rover and for my new dog I had only had for two months, so I was uncertain about the whole process. Cherie was very responsive and easy to work with. My dog isn’t the easiest dog ever but Cherie managed her well. With the big fenced in backyard and other dog friends to play with, I wasn’t sure my dog waned to leave at the end!! Highly recommend. Almost forgot- we had a few travel hiccups coming back and Cherie was really understanding and we were able to book an extra night. Five stars!”

Julie and her family were amazing for our dog, Queso, and our family. She helped us out on a last minute cancellation of our dog sitter and took care of Queso for a full week. Her family took her on walks, played with her, and welcomed her into their home! She updated us with messages and photos. We are very grateful and hope to use her in the future. Thank you so much!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
