This was our first time using rover and I’m so glad we found Beatriz! From our initial booking throughout her stay her communication has been fantastic. She sent many pictures and videos during her stay with our dogs showing they were having a great time with her! Our house was also left in perfect condition. We would without a doubt book her again the next time we are looking for a dog sitter!

About: I’ve been around pets my entire life, whether it was feeding my own dogs and cat or volunteering 150+ hours for the MSPCA. My family frequently asks me to feed, walk, or just provide company to their pets, and I am always happy to do so! I am very flexible with rates/services so feel free to reach out with any questions and I'll try my best to make it work. I am home from college in the winter and summer and have lots of availability to provide a friend for your pet! I do work part-time but Rover is my biggest priority. I am a very flexible sitter and base my pet care to the behavioral needs of the dogs. I am always willing to play and use toys or just let them rest if needed!

As someone dog sits myself, I am very particular about who we trust to watch our pups. This is our second time having Kaitlyn sit for the girls and we feel so, so grateful to have found her. She is very trustworthy, responsible, and caring. I know they are in the best hands with Kaitlyn and the girls are already looking forward to seeing her again in June!

About: I’ve been an animal lover my whole life and have grown up around both dogs and cats. Whether it is keeping up with an energetic dog, taking them on a walk, or taking care of an attentive cat, I am passionate about making them happy. I have always been a go-to when it comes to friends going on vacation. There hasn’t been a time in my life where I wasn’t around a pet! As a student, I am currently on summer break, so I am available on a daily basis. I am available all day or night for care, walks, and check-ins. To ensure the best possible care for your pet I will familiarize myself with the home environment. I can utilize toys or tools you may have for your pet, or can even bring some of my own if need be! Able to walk around in neighborhoods or play in yards.

About: I have two Australian Shepherds at home that I miss while being away at college, so I love any chance to spend time with dogs. I’ve had years of hands-on experience caring for them, including walks, feeding, and daily attention. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities and always make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for. I’m a college student with a busy schedule, but I make time for pet care and am available on weekends and select weekdays. I also work part-time, but I’m reliable with scheduling and communication. I’ll have increased availability over the summer and can be more flexible then. Your pet’s safety and comfort are very important to me. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure your dog feels safe and well cared for. I’m attentive, reliable, and happy to send updates while you’re away.

From the very first meet‑and‑greet, I knew Carina was the perfect match for my boy, Sheppy. She connected with him instantly, and the peace of mind I felt from that moment only grew throughout my trip abroad. Carina went above and beyond while staying in my home and caring for Sheppy. She checked in regularly, shared the sweetest photos, and kept me updated in a way that made me feel completely at ease. It was clear she treated him with the same love, patience, and attention she would give her own dog. Carina is responsible, thoughtful, and genuinely gifted with animals. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’m so grateful for the care she gave my boy. I would recommend her wholeheartedly to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. I will be booking her again even without travel plans just to keep Sheppy and his new BFF Carina connected.

About: Hi! My name is Bella, and I’m a dedicated animal lover with experience caring for both dogs and cats for family members, friends, and neighbors. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, and I always strive to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I work during the day, typically for about eight hours, but outside of work I am available to provide plenty of attention, companionship, walks, playtime, feeding, medication administration (if needed), and lots of affection. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, belly rubs, play sessions, or simply having someone nearby to keep them company, I’m happy to accommodate their routine. I know how important it is to trust someone with a beloved pet, and I treat every animal in my care as if they were my own. My goal is to provide reliable, attentive care that gives both pets and their owners peace of mind. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work during the day, typically from about 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but outside of those hours I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pets. Before and after work, I can provide walks, feeding, playtime, potty breaks, medication administration if needed, and lots of love and attention. On weekends and days off, I have even more flexibility to spend quality time with your pets and ensure they stay happy, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m also more than happy to help with small household tasks such as watering plants, bringing in mail or packages, and keeping an eye on your home so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and any special care instructions so they can feel as relaxed as possible while you’re away. Whether caring for pets in your home or during visits, I provide attentive supervision, plenty of affection, regular exercise, and consistent care. I understand how much pets mean to their families, and I treat every dog and cat as if they were my own—with patience, kindness, and lots of love.

Allison was truly a blessing and if I ever need this service again, I will absolutely contact her! This was my first time ever leaving for multiple days and our planned sitter (a friend of ours) fell through shortly before our trip. Allison gave us the peace of mind that our dog's would be taken care of. She stayed with them for more time than I had even dared hope for and sent us regular updates. She was transparent, responsible, respectful and kind. Upon our return it was obvious that our dogs missed us but it was also obvious that they had been well cared for and treated with nothing but love and kindness. I can't possibly be even more thankful than I am.

About: I've been around animals my whole life. I grew up with dogs, and these days I'm often the person friends and family call when they need someone to look after their pets. I've spent plenty of time walking dogs, feeding them, playing with them, and making sure they're well cared for while their owners are away. I'm comfortable with dogs of all sizes, including larger, high-energy breeds. I enjoy getting to know each animal's personality and building trust with them. I've even trained my own cats to do tricks and respond to commands using positive reinforcement. Taking care of animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I take the responsibility seriously because I know how much people's pets mean to them. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I work from home on Mondays and Fridays, which gives me the flexibility to provide walks, drop-in visits, and pet care throughout the day. Outside of work, taking care of animals has always been a regular part of my life, whether that's spending time with my own pets or helping friends and family with theirs. Because I work a consistent schedule and plan my time carefully, I can be reliable and punctual when it comes to pet care. I enjoy getting outside for walks and spending time with animals, so it's something I genuinely look forward to rather than trying to squeeze into a busy schedule. I try to keep things as close to the pet's normal routine as possible. When I'm caring for a pet in their home, I follow the owner's instructions and make sure they're getting everything they need, whether that's walks, meals, playtime, medications, or just some company while their owner is away. I pay attention to each animal's personality and body language and adjust my approach accordingly. Some pets want lots of attention and activity, while others are happier with a quieter approach and a little extra patience. I'm comfortable with both. Safety is always important to me. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure, and I keep an eye out for anything that seems out of the ordinary. My goal is to make sure pets are comfortable, well cared for, and as stress-free as possible while their owners are away. I make sure that I'm always available, and communication is a huge priority for me

Erin was beyond amazing with Charlie. It was the first vacation we took where we came home and he wasn’t stressed out from missing us. We had a wonderful experience with caleigh! She took great care of our senior Golden Retriever, giving her the attention and care she needed (meds, foot spray, carrying up stairs) while we were away. She was warm, friendly, and easy to communicate with, and she left our home clean and well cared for. We would absolutely book her again and highly recommend her!

Mary did a great job taking care of my Shih Tzu. She is still getting used to being an “only dog” so Mary spent some extra quality time with her on the couch together, which is her favorite pastime. Mary sent lots of cute pictures and Elvie was well taken care of. The house was also in great shape too. Thank you Mary!

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Plaistow on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,686 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Plaistow. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Plaistow walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Plaistow maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Plaistow choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Plaistow. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
