“We were so nervous having our Doberman baby go to a sitter. She is only 18 months old and very busy. Amber was amazing with her and, because she has a Doberman, she really understands the breed. She bathed our dog twice even though we didn't ask. She allowed her to sleep on the bed with her and May. We will use Amber again and hopefully have play dates with May! Thank you so much for taking care of our Lyla.”

“Heather was great! She was very flexible and communicative and helped me adjust the schedule when my plans changed! Our pups had a great time and were very loved and she sent great updates!”

“Rebecca and Ian are amazing!! I received so many detailed daily updates and photos that made me wonder if my dog would want to come home also they have an amazing backyard for playtime!!”

“Nicole & Joey were perfect for what we were looking for in a pet sitter. They like dogs. They have a great environment with a fenced backyard. We had great peace of mind that our baby was well cared for.”

“We had an excellent experience with Lexi - great communication, super friendly, loves dogs, and Duncan clearly had a great stay! He will definitely be back!”
“Angie is amazing!! She and her family are incredible! My cat, Titan, spent a couple of nights with them while I was travelling and it was great. Angie is super attentive and professional. While she cared for him she kept me consistently updated and sent photos. I definitely want to work with Angie again next time I have to travel. Thank you Angie!”

“Our pup seemed happy as could be when we picked her up. Jean and Sam were quick to respond on a short notice request and made everything very easy for us. Thank you!”

“Christina is awesome! She was really flexible with times and days with us! She sent us photos every day just like we asked, and when we picked up our dog, Taiga, was so happy and healthy. We appreciate Christina so much! Definitely will book her again!”

“Very friendly and always answered my texts immediately! I asked if she could keep my dog an extra night and she was very accommodating. She even sent home a little goodie bag for Bella!”

“Grecia was amazing and clearly had much experience with dog behavior. My girl is a bit overreactive with strangers and Grecia immediately assessed this and knew how to handle the situation effectively calming my dog and building up her initial trust. I explained that she also has some reactivity issues with new dogs until she warms up to them which she noted and apparently worked on because she was able to get my dog to walk along with hers. I even noticed that my Mei Mei was not going crazy when confronted with a pair of loose dogs at the park on my first walk back with her. Lastly, she was able to take this booking last minute as I had unplanned lengthy work hours for a couple of days and so that in of it self was so much help. I very much appreciate her ability to work with me and the awesome experience she gave. Thank you!”

“Highly recommend Ziyu. She took great care of both of our pups while we were out of town. One of our dogs became ill while we were away and needed an emergency vet visit. Ziyu took action and made sure our dog was treated and taken care of. Not many people would have handled the situation as she did, so we’re grateful our dogs were in her care. She communicated with us well, too. We trust our dogs with her and will let her keep them again in the future. Thank you, Ziyu!”

“Sammie was amazing! I had a last minute work trip planned and she was very accommodating, she took Zion my husky right in! She gave me pics and updates everyday and I could tell my dog was in great hands. I’ll definitely be using her for future services!”

“Excellent dog care. We would recommend Elizabeth. Our dog was in excellent care and we appreciated the daily communication. Quality service on all levels. Thank you”

“Bob absolutely LOVED his stay with Arian! Arian took awesome care of Bob, took him on hikes and gave him a lot of love. I completely trust Arian and will definitely book again!”

“Just picked up my girl from Elizabeth. It was my first time leaving Amy with anyone other than my parents. She was with Elizabeth for 4 nights, not only did Elizabeth accommodate my needs for a late 9:30pm drop off and 8:30pm pick up but she also took extremely good care of my girl. Amy has multiple vitamins, a supplement and medicated wipes so she is a handful, Elizabeth did great with everything. I was anxious and stressed about leaving Amy with someone but Elizabeth sent me updates, photos, and my favorite; videos, which made me more and more relaxed to where I knew Amy was having a blast and felt the anxiety disappear. When I picked her up, yes she was over the moon to see Mom and Dad but you could also see how she was still having so much fun with Elizabeth. I will mostly definitely be choosing Elizabeth to watch my 75lb nosey, sassy, sweet Amy girl again. Amy and I had such a good experience with Elizabeth I will probably just plan my vacations and trips around Elizabeth’s availability. I definitely recommend Elizabeth and her sweet pup.”

“Genny and Seth are absolutely amazing, they spoil our Bentley dog and make him feel like he is part of their family. Genny and Seth does fantastic job in exercising the pups whether fetch or taking the dogs for walks. They send pictures and updates multiple times a day and would strongly recommend Genny and Seth to anyone considering pet sitting. Thank you Genny and Seth!”

“Tsokyi was just the most wonderful sitter! She was so attentive to our dog's unique needs and interests. We loved seeing the pictures and updates each day. Additionally, Tsokyi's home is just perfect. What an amazing back yard, just perfect for a doggo who loves to play outside. We cannot say enough about what an amazing experience it was to work together. I would recommend Tsokyi to anyone!”

“Ashley has taken care of our pups multiple times. We had a senior dog and 2 puppies over the years. The dogs always come home happy and healthy. Ashley is punctual and communicates well. She’s always our first call when we need dog care.”

“Madeline and Jake were absolutely fantastic. They kept us updated the entire time with photos and messages, which made it so easy to relax knowing our dog was in great hands. It was clear they really took the time to get to know her personality. She got plenty of playtime too, especially frisbee, which she loves. We came back to a happy, well-cared-for dog and felt completely confident in the care she received. Would highly recommend them and would book again without hesitation.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Salt Lake
Tracey did a fantastic job taking care of my dog, Penny. We were in a new city for a soccer tournament and needed someone to watch Penny for a day while we did some family things that she couldn't accompany us on. Being unfamiliar with the area is stressful enough, so it was such a relief to find someone willing to be flexible with time frames and open to working with a fairly fluid plan. Tracey was easy going and great with communication, and on top of that, I picked up a very happy dog. I highly recommend Tracey and I am pretty sure that Penny would agree! : )

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in UT ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
